I'm Irish living in England and, unfortunately, the only songs I know that sound remotely like a lullaby are Irish rebel songs! It's fine at the mo cos he doesn't understand them but I wanna get out of the habit before he starts asking questions! Problem is, when I sing other stuff he doesn't like it and starts whinging. He's completely fascinated by the fields of athenry and if I sing anything less than all three verses and choruses he whinges! He just goes into a trance with them! I need to have a few other back up songs in my head Grin

Sorry, I know this is an odd one lol.

Mockingbird too.
You are my sunshine ( I am filling up now)
Df used to sing some old sad song about the little boy that Santa Claus forgot, and scarlet ribbons and in a little Spanish town (Howl!)
Dh used to sing David Bowie to his little brother.

helenhen, not difficult to learn at all!! Look at Kula Bebe, that's the one I learnt and its easy.... I find myself humming it all the time and you could probably make up your own words to it too.

I love the "when a Knight won his spurs" suggestion. I haven't thought of that song for years but it's amazing how all the words just come straight back to me!!!

My twins (19 months) like "Mercedes Benz" by Janis Joplin ("Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz, my friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends...").

Or "Bring Me Sunshine" by Morecambe and Wise Smile
