Hi everyone! Just wanted to say I really hope all works out for you Drspouse. And Rosa is 15 months if that is any use to you. Love the descriptions of BG, Rosebud & Somelet Smile. Rosa has taken a few steps on her own a few times but still prefers to scoot across the floor on her backside. She talks all the time but no real words apart from "Dada" for everything, and for her actual dad, she says a really long drawn out singsong "Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaad". Loves being chased by her brother and gets super excited and buries her head in my lap, then peeks out to see if he's coming. He is so lovely with her and I'm so glad we accidentally gave him the chance to be a big brother Smile. Sorry I've missed so much - love to everyone x

GoatBongoAnonymous · 27/03/2014 09:55

Oh fecking feck. Two bad nights in a row, what's going wrong now? One canine is finally peeking through the gum, maybe it's teething?

BG!! For heaven's sake can we get some sleep, pleeeeeeeze?

drspouse · 27/03/2014 10:14

We have a very good sleeper and we can more or less guarantee that teething is the reason, if we have a bad night or two. So I'd say vvvvv likely that's why.

wow it's been busy recently. lovely to see. Sorry I've been quiet - for me - finding work, Kids, repeated colds, running house I'm finding almost no time. But I'm enjoying the job, and kids are on good form, T changing v rapidly too - crawling everywhere, standing and cruising almost as much, chattering gobbledygook, waving at odd times, playing peekaboo, and he clapped! he loves books almost as much as he loves big vehicles and idolises his sister. He is waking on average once a night, which I'd prefer he didn't but I feel is acceptable. ish. Finding between him and dd still having night mares and wanting to. one into our room I am going slightly doolally with the broken sleep. Otherwise all lovely.

drspouse my dc 3y2m and nearly 1y. Happy to help if anonymous. So hope New avenues might open up with adoption. what do you do btw (generically) ?

loved updates on BabySome, Rosebud, Knotty's dd. Bbd will try and get on a different computer where I can view photo link.

sorry v me-me post.

oh, and there should be a cluster of bdays now after the baby boom this time last year! Knicky ds has just turned one - is Chairman or Somelette next?

Blueblackdye · 27/03/2014 20:38

Scarecrow, the pic is not greatbut I thought I would give you an idea of what they look like so that you can choose Tintin's without getting duplicate toys... The bus and bin truck are about 30 cm long.

Belated happy birthday to Knicky's DS !

Goat, 2 bad nights here too. Not teething though. Longer naps during the day, not OT either. Oh well, it shall pass. Soon.

Another first tonight. TMI alert. DS screamed murder when playing in the bath with his sister, he has never got out of the bath so quickly, my naughty little daughter pooed in the bath ! She was a bit scared too :)

EagleRay · 27/03/2014 20:54

Ha ha BBD - I still remember the time my sister pooed in the bath! Can still see it bobbing around now Shock

Having quick sit down before bed - thank goodness the week is nearly over! DD getting better re boob weaning - bedtime passed without incident tonight. She and DP have a routine now where they chat on the phone for a little while each evening - she really loves it, although has a tendency to cut him off if I don't micro-manage the phone handling...

Lovely to hear all your updates - the babies are growing fast!

drspouse · 27/03/2014 23:09

Well, I have been Out for the evening, which has involved me standing up in public to say a few things that people actually listened to (hobby type thing, won't say more for fear of outing myself), and then there was some music, and I'll be in bed WAY past my bedtime. I'm just praying DS can stay asleep till at least 7. DH's turn tomorrow as he's off to London on the early train. It is really Box and Cox in our house, we both see DS but rarely each other!

GoatBongoAnonymous · 28/03/2014 08:26

Drspouse, us too, we see BG more than each other! Fab that you got out into the Big Wide World for an evening. Smile
Right. Rant alert.
Found out from a dietitian this morning that the replacement formula prescribed by GP is not lactose free. It is CMP free, but dietitian said given that poor BG has had gastroenteritis 8times (!) since he was 7 months old, he will have a lactose intolerance that needs managing.
FECKING DOCTOR!!! No wonder my poor baby goat has been having painful nights again. And we have been getting no sleep. ARRGGGHHHHH!
Oh and apparently he went against nhs guidelines by prescribing it in the first place without referral to a dietitian.
FECKING FECK!!!!
I am a bit cross.

GoatBongoAnonymous · 28/03/2014 08:30

Sorry a mememe post.
Hope everyone is ok. Have a lovely day and look forward to the weekend!

drspouse · 28/03/2014 08:57

Oh no, that's rubbish! Is there an alternative formula?

drspouse · 28/03/2014 09:24

Oh yes. I forgot to say - this morning DS came out of his room on his own and we went downstairs to have breakfast, he was still in his PJs. I thought he'd spilt his morning milk on his top as it was a bit messy and I knew he hadn't been wearing it at breakfast yesterday.

But it turns out he was sick in his bed yesterday and NEITHER OF US NOTICED. I totally blame DH as he put him to bed and the state of the bed suggests he was sick shortly after going to bed. But I also feel bad for not checking on him before I went to bed myself, or this morning before breakfast. Though I know DH will have checked him before bed (he always does) and this morning when he gave him his milk. But he does have a cold... But he's not blind!

rosiedays · 28/03/2014 20:55

I sold the house today. [Wine] emotionally exhaustin Chapter finished.

drspouse · 28/03/2014 20:59

That's great news Rosie!

DH is home, DS zonked out by 6.15, I've been watching GBSB on iPlayer, and eating an apple pudding I made in the slow cooker someone gave me. There are a lot of people who seem determined to cook anything and everything in the slow cooker. This particular recipe would probably go better in the oven to be honest.

rosiedays · 28/03/2014 21:12

Big grin at poo story Bbd :)
Flowers goat.
Feet up eagle. .... it's the weeeekend Grin very impressed at your boob weaning success.

Scarecrow lovely to hear all is good. Not surprised you don't have time to post! Dressing up today was great fun and i have a little sleeping panda all warm and snuggly and loaded with sleep dust in hercot aafter almost self settling tonight (one round of sush pat and I gave in and boobed. :) )
Drspouse. Lol re the sick! My dh wouldn't notice ether.

drspouse · 29/03/2014 21:28

Took DS swimming today - he went to Water Babies and was a complete star there, but I started working an extra day in Nov and had to give up. And he was basically petrified of the water today Sad - I'm really sad about that. There's a similar class we could go to but I was resisting as it's late afternoon on my only day off - so we usually do something else (dance) in the morning - I feel like the pushy parent who overschedules their child, and I worry he'll be really tired too Sad .

Blueblackdye · 30/03/2014 08:46

Happy Mother's day to all. Hope DH/P and DCs treat you with the love and attention you deserve. Xxxx
We are all 4 in bed because we shared the germs of a nastycold !
Will be back
DrSpouse, don't be guilty, more on that later too

rosiedays · 30/03/2014 09:13

Hope everyone is feeling special today. Flowers

Drsppuse, don't panic :) one bad day at the pool does not mean he doesn't like water anymore ;) could be many things, try again next week maybe he just didn't want to get wet (A feeling i know well) Summer is coming, lofs of getting wet opportunities :)

Very mixed feelings re house sale. It was a wonderful home. We had so many happy times there and it was my security blanket. Somewhere i could always call home ; (
But life moves on and it will be very nice to be debt free, not have to worry about how the mortgage will get paid every month, no more long trips down to get something bloody fixed, redecorate, or relet. And i can buy another house (and actually live in it) if i want too.

drspouse · 30/03/2014 09:23

Well we are at least looking at staying in a Kinderhotel in the summer and most of those have pools!

DH has gone back to bed (I'm not really a breakfast in bed type person anyway) but I have a nice potted bulb DS grew at nursery for my Mother's Day present. We normally go to church but we're having a friend round for a big lunch (the M&S deal), so I might go tonight.

Blueblackdye · 30/03/2014 21:46

Rosie, don't be sad re house sale, you now have a good deposit to start afresh wherever you feel like with Rosebud and DH. You have been amazing.

DrSpouse, take it easy with DS, he will get used to water and be splashing soon. DS was traumatised by water when at 18m, DH literaly plunged him in the pool, he hated the feeling of sand under his feet aswell at the same age, today he can't wait to jump in the pool !

Eagleray, baby Eaglet is such a star, you have done very well on the weaning, very envious, my LO still turns to the boobs after 3 or 4 oz....

Goat, have you found a lactose free formula, poor BG.

Blueblackdye · 31/03/2014 23:25

Where is everyone ? Hope all is well and you are all out and about with this wonderfully dry weather !

Wanted to share this with you. We get a fair bit of sibling fights. Of course between a 20mo totally walking and climbing toddler and a 5 yo used to leave his toys wherever he feels like, what can I expect ! But we also have super cute moments :

  • little A rubs her brother's back in the bath,
  • DS always kisses her goodnight without me prompting and she would return his kiss and then he wipes his cheek saying "it is always a wet one!" Or "yuk, she licked me again"
  • for the past 3 days, only DS can feed little A her yogurt, twice a day, she pushes back my hand, saying no, no, no, opens and closes her hand to get the spoon and gives it to her brother, he pretends it is a aeroplane, she opens her mouth wide laughing and the plane lands.... Will try to catch that on video.

Night everyone

knottyhair · 01/04/2014 05:43

I'm here lurking! Lovely images of your children together BBD. Rosa is idolising her big brother, the poor boy barely gets a moments peace! He's very patient with her, obviously a lot easier at 10 than 5, so your DS is doing brilliantly!
Oh well, better go and do my workout before everyone else gets up.... lots of love to everyone xx

rosiedays · 01/04/2014 13:13

Hi Bbd. I'm lurking too.
My days are flying by again. Don't know where the time goes. Spending lots of lovely time with rosebud, she's learning 'gentle" and No at the moment. We went to a petting zoo at the weekend and she loved it. Especially the chicken :) she's getting so strong now she can hurt. And she's a biter. She pounces and grips on to my top with her teeth like a puppy. Weaning is going well. Any tips on keeping baby clothes clean? Everything is getting stained :( i try with the bib but food still seems to get everywhere! She has taken to squirreling bits inside her poppers which reappear magically at odd times

rosiedays · 01/04/2014 13:27

Backwards caterpillar is still the only self propelling. She has rolled a few times but frightened herself each time so she's given up again i think.

The full benefit of the house selling is finally sinking in and I'm writing huge ridiculous shopping lists Grin I didn't make as much as i hoped so some of the big things are off (no camper van :( ) but there is enough for some fun and a new sofa Grin

Not done much on the work / nursery project, although I did speak to a cv writer who said my cv really needed updated which I agree it does. It's rubbish. Also just seen something worth applying for so must get on with it.

scarecrow22 · 01/04/2014 20:46

also selfishly lurking. Am all but over whelmed by dh being away, another horrible cold, running house, keeping on top of job. Long for bed by 8pm. Tom teething too, though less badly.

DrSpouse, focus in ds enjoying being around water and totally.no no no pressures to do anything and all will come right. I didn't dunk (much), just played splashing games and taught ds to hold the side by playing chasing crabs and she is now doing v well since started swim classes in autumn. I still never force actual swimming when we go alone. key is to love water and that will follow.
Rosie, so full of admiration re house. Enjoy your sofa (I've still never bought a new sofa at 43.5!) or indeed a table or chairs! we have a camper van. over rated!
bbd just love stories of ds and A. l love him a little bit more with every story! especially yogurt.
Eagle you are amazing re op noboob. I last fed T on Sat night them not at all Sun and Mon. Was thinking good op to stop then this morning dreadfully missed his little suckling head and nostalgically offered boon before bed. He took a few sips, chewed a bit (ouch) and then pinged my nipple. The romantic thing is very over!! Like BBD zero hope of another baby makes it harder but I'm loving his new phases and love him more than ever so can't feel properly sad.

Waves to anyone I've missed xx

drspouse · 02/04/2014 10:06

Well having just had a v minor procedure at the GP, I have to leave the dressing on for 5 days, so no swimming this week, but I think I will give the new lessons a go next term, if he's too tired one day we can just skip that week. It's very close to our house too so we can walk over with the buggy (or on second thoughts, be lazy and lug all the stuff in the car).

I also had a migraine last night complete with vomiting in the early hours, so I'm not really sure what day it is, I'm going back to work later but just now I'm sitting in Star$ with a bucket of coffee.
