Ha-low everyone
I feel like Mr tumble! !!!
Oh bbd what have you done? Is it muscular? Hot shower directed at the area and some anti-inflammatorys. Sod the house! Can you get a massage tomorrow?

Oh dspouse. That sounds tough. Don't loose hope, things can change very quickly. .. everything happens for a reason, when the right baby for you is born it will come to you. Xxx

Goat. .. it would have been lovely to meet but it was Tuesday Grin I'm not sure when/how I'm going home yet but if it involves a Victoria stop I'll definitely let you all know!

Eagle, making order out of chaos is what i do . I'll trade you a clear out for a photo shoot Grin

It's crazy here, a lovely fun crazy. Bf ghas 2 lovely dc (ds7 dd14 months) ds has challenges but is trying so hard to be good and we have spent some lovely time reading and learning how to tell the time dd is just adorable, she says ' aah baby rosebud gentle' and kisses her they also chat to each other in baby talk ... so cute.
Rosebud is obsessed with the cat and has learnt 'meow'. She says it every time she sees the cat! !!!
So her first word was buba (daddy) her second was meow! !!
Ploughing on with the sorting and packing (around looking after babies etc) and have made a fabulous start. The kitchen is done (except for what is needed.) My dbf is a sentimental person, she keeps EVERY THING. Including champagne corks, and cups with no handles Hmm It was a struggle to get her to part with anything but we have about 4 black bags of rubbish and a big charity box. Paperwork is Shock
I'm such a minimalist and keep nothing! !!

GoatBongoAnonymous · 20/03/2014 23:29

Oh... Blush sorry Rosie...

Sorry to hear your news drspouse. It sounds such a hard journey for you.

Blueblackdye · 21/03/2014 16:21

What a week I had, full of good and less good events.... Nose bleeds on Tuesday, GP yesterday with coughing and throwing up... Now temperature. I wish I could trade with my little girl her illness. I'd rather be poorly and my children healthy than the other way round. Hope all she needs is rest over the week end.
But I also had a lovely present from DS on Thursday: they invited Mums to attend a tea party with the boys, we have been served cupcakes and tea, received a necklace and flowers and were told why they love us, followed by a dancing performance. A Mothers day celebration a bit early but so cute. Heartmelting really.
Wishing us a sunny dry week end in the park biking or hiking and picnics
I will be washing bedsheets... :)

Sorry, it was DS school which invited Mums on Thursday.

rosiedays · 21/03/2014 23:36

Goat Grin that is just the sort of thing i would do! ! Lol
Bbd how lovely From ds. Poor A hope she
Is better soon. Xx

Well dd had another first today :( a really sad one :( there was a little accident and she fell on her face causing her teeth to bleed and her lip to swell up. It was awful as dd2 was playing with her at the time and she just kind of 'forgot' ( baby brain she's 21 week's pg) which baby she had and stood her up and let go Shock she face planted the wooden floor at my mum's. Dd2 bless her is sooo upset and cried all afternoon. Rosebud is fine Sept for a swollen/bruised top lip. Dd1 who is usually the panicer instantly got teething powders from her bag which worked a treat.
It was lovely to have all my girls and dhc together for a few hours though. Xx

scarecrow22 · 22/03/2014 07:49

drspouse I'm so sorry for problems at the other end. Hopefully the good progress in UK can at least get you sorted one end and I hope another -maybe different - opportunity arises which you can.then seize. I'd love to think one day you will have dc2 and think thank goodness for that delay or we want have this child we have given our hearts to. Hug.

Rosie you sound such a good friend and U just live the idea if your three DDs and all the dgc hanging out together. I hope dm is being more positive now. But if not, her loss. Poor DD2. I feel most sorry for her!

bbd I do hope A gets better soon. Poor little thing.

Happy weekends all x

Blueblackdye · 22/03/2014 15:25

Little A has lost her voice, the sounds she makes are so weak and low, Gosh, I hope it is not painful... Staying in today to cuddle her

Blueblackdye · 22/03/2014 15:26

Has Rosebud upper lip healed, Rosie ?

rosiedays · 22/03/2014 19:56

Travelling through the streets of London and wondered who lives where Grin

Poor A xx Big hugs
Top lip much better ; ( still a little bruised but not causing any problems.

Blueblackdye · 23/03/2014 22:25

Inspired by Rosie, I decluttered a bit today. Lots of toys and clothes going to community nursery and charity shops next week. Still have 2 high shelves to sort out and a massive bathroom cabinet. But the worst bit will be the art and crafts cupboard. I keep throwing stuff in, just in case we need them in the future, hum hum. Need Mr Maker's drawer. DS took very sharp decisions whereas liitle A kept taking things out from the 3 bags, not that she wanted to keep them, just keeping Mummy busy :)
DS said he wanted to give Tintin his bus and his bin truck because they are boy's toys. He remembered Tintin because I showed him the video of Tintin talking ! What do you say Tintin's mum ?

Blueblackdye · 23/03/2014 23:07

We had a first today. Little A looked at DH and said poopoo while trying to lower her skirt. He took her to the potty and she sat for 20 sec although she already did in her nappy. Looks like I will have busy days in the near future... She has been really good with Elimination Communication but it was very unpredictable, I was lucky to get some in the potty but not very consistent so I dropped the idea thinking we would come back to it this summer when she is 2. But if she feels like it, why not ? If asked, she leads me upstairs when she knows it has to be changed but she is impossible flipping back and forth, crawling to escape if she is not done. I can't wait to be free of nappy changing.

scarecrow22 · 24/03/2014 20:01

bbd I can't resist anything.from your little boy. This is just yet more proof of how gorgeous he is. Tintin stood at the window for half an hour today on top of a wooden chest, ahem watching the sewage lorry which had a light in top. He was excited for half an hour, I kid you not! So a bin lorry might be just the thing!! we have a Happy Land bus but is Lucy's so if another going, hey preloved and all... Thank you for the thought and any gifts that do make it will be hugely appreciated.

I had a lovely bed time with T. So seldom don't have DD dominating. We had a ling bath and lots of stories and read Hairy Maclairy for the first time as he loves dogs and he was so excited and giggly. Then rubbed his eyes, had last of bottle, sang and lay like a dream in his cot. Perfect end to a sleepless but gen happy weekend.

waves x

scarecrow22 · 24/03/2014 20:02

well done A! excellent sign.

Blueblackdye · 24/03/2014 20:21

What is the connection between boys and bin trucks ? DS said that because Tintin has an older sister, he has only girl's toys !

EagleRay · 24/03/2014 21:45

I was obsessed with cars and trucks as a young child - hated dolls and was really mean to my older sister's dolls (feel quite embarrassed and ashamed about that now, especially the poor doll who ended up covered in green felt tip pen)

Sadly, my beloved car collection was automatically handed to my younger brother without my permission and he went on to swap/give away my cars one by one Sad

The sewage lorry sounds quite interesting - I can still get excited about unusual vehicles (recent favourite sighting was a locomotive atop a transporter on the motorway)

Well done on the decluttering BBD and Rosie some help with the house in return for photoshoot sounds like a fab deal Smile I'm really up against it with DP as he has a sixth sense for detecting when I've chucked stuff and many a thing has escaped from binbags and ended up back in the house again.

Glad to hear Rosebud is better now.

Great work on the potty front from A BBD - it sounds like she's ready to at least start some sort of transition to getting out of nappies!

DD has emerged from latest illness with a few new milestones under her belt - she can now climb all of the staircases in the house, and also slide back down them fearlessly! Poor DP nearly had a heart attack trying to supervise her climbing, and the house is now an assualt course of wonky stairgates. She's also started putting the shapes in her shape sorter all on her own, and also likes having phone conversations, with quite purposeful chatter, turn taking in conversation etc. However, she's a little bit too trigger happy with the 'end call' button and cut off Granny 3 times on saturday.

Operation Lactation Cessation is in full flight now - we went cold turkey on Friday so that I could start on the drugs asap. It's been a mixed bag so far - lots of screaming and crying and the nights are especially hard as the poor thing is inconsolable. She can take formula from a cup no problem, but at certain times of the day, she wants and expects boob. Tonight I tried to distract her as much as possible at bedtime, and then she started howling for boob. I offered her a bottle (got one of those Nuby bottle/cup hybrid things) and she furiously shoved it away. So then I held it just out of her reach, and she furiously snatched it off me and popped it in her mouth. So reverse psychology is working!

Felt a bit panic-stricken about the whole thing yesterday and posted in the Feeding section, and not a single reply. Feeling a bit more confident this eve though about coping on my own. In a way, it's a bit easier doing it without DP here as he gets v anxious and stressed when she screams.

Stinking cold so off to bed now. Night night everyone

Blueblackdye · 24/03/2014 22:55

Eagleray, I feel your pain re boob weaning. It is hard to hear LO crying even if we know they are just being melodramatic... Or so we hope :( From what I have read about baby eaglet, she knows what she is doing, clever Eaglet. Little A is a copycat, nighttime is boob, morning she can deal with bottle and afternoon, well it depends, she was very excited today when I prepared the bottle, but took only 90ml out of 150... And then asked for boobs, both. One day, soon, I keep telling myself :)

Scarecrow, looks like a fire engine will complete Tintin's set of toys ! Will get a pic tomorrow if I can.

Little A has several times today undone her trousers and showed the potty, it is kept in the shower behind doors. But once she was done :( tonight as I was washing dishes, I heard her in the corridor. Hurried out fom the kitchen to find her on top of the first flight of stairs saying poopoo and touching her nappy, she then said up up up as we usually change nappy upstairs. Nursery will get a little note from me tomorrow ! Not missing the nappy free train.

DS had a visit from the British School of Falconry at school today. He even held a bird on his forearm and one did a wee on the floor, he told us tonight. How brilliant is that ! This school is so different from French schools, I am amazed by all the activities they have. They had a visit from the Science Museum as well earlier this term and tomorrow they are going to a pizzeria to learn how to make their own.

GoatBongoAnonymous · 26/03/2014 11:16

gosh everyone is growing up so fast... here we are talking about boob weaning and potty training and going up and down stairs and getting excited about trucks, when just yesterday (or so it seems) we were holding helpless newborns in the crook of an arm. (Soppy moment alert)
And so many talented babies! I'm afraid BG's current talents are eating crayons (he had stopped, but teething has reared its head again, oh joy), roaring like a dinosaur, finding the Pontypines in the ITNG app, tearing around the house with his shopping trolley, chucking his socks into the dustbin, and feeding his menagerie of soft toys. He has started talking, but he uses words once and doesn't really bother again - I get a Look that says 'you know perfectly well what I mean mother, don't be ridiculous'. He can count to four, so i was counting out buttons the other day, slowly and singsong, trying to get him to join in as he usually does. Nothing doing. He just sat and looked at me. I was being ultra enthusiastic - 'Come on BG, you know how to do this! ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR...' Finally with a big sigh he got up and trudged off, and just before disappearing into the kitchen, threw over his shoulder, 'five six seven'. Oh, okay.
oh, and he has an obsession with shoes. i think he might be related to me.

GoatBongoAnonymous · 26/03/2014 11:18

PS sympathies on the sleeping front. BG is so much better after going completely dairy free, but never sleeps through, and about one night in four is still dire. Like last night. I swear that's why he is being extra cute this morning, because he knows it's rubbish collection day...

drspouse · 26/03/2014 11:18

Well, I am hanging in there, no real change on the adoption stuff, DH says he doesn't want me to be sad but I know he is sad too, I am pretty fed up with work and I want out and I thought I was going to get out soon!

I have a very cheeky ask which is semi work-related. It's to do with the age of your babies - I am not really sure what age all your babies are - I'm going to message a couple of you that I think have babies in a particular age range - but would anyone who might be able to do me a favour message me if they are willing?

Blueblackdye · 26/03/2014 14:22

Goat, BG seems to have a very cheerful soul !
DrSpouse, my children are 5.5 yo and 20 mo, if they fall into your bracket, happy to help. Hope you and DH get good news soon, don't despair, as Rosie said, things happen for a reason, the right child for your family is not born yet, it will.
Scarecrow, here is the pic

GoatBongoAnonymous · 26/03/2014 16:28

BG is 20 months too, drspouse, so if that is useful, pm away!
A cheerful soul, bbd, with an evil cackle. He managed to phone a friend if mine when I was out of the room. I came back in to find them having a great chat. My friend knew it was him instantly, because she doesn't know anyone else with such an evil cackle...

drspouse · 26/03/2014 19:57

He managed to phone a friend if mine when I was out of the room.

We've had a near miss with 999 on the landline... we are wondering if we can put a lock on it!

rosiedays · 26/03/2014 21:31

Hi everyone :)
this thread fell off my I'm on for the first time ever! Thought I'd better post. :) wow babies are really growing up. so love reading about them as a 'heads up' for what's round the corner Grin Rosebud is eating well and growing alarmingly. she does not look so fragile anymore. Her hands are huge! !! She's mastered the backwards caterpillar wriggle , rolling over is not something she enjoys though. She has done it a couple of times from front to back but scared herself and cried. If sshe's on her back she's not going anywhere soon. She has 2 words buba and meow, she loves her swing in the garden. I think she's just starting to put her arms up when I go to pick her up, not sure, she gets Really Excited and giggles lots. Still a boob monster and sleep is random. Last night she was awake againa about 4 but I refuse to get up. She played with her cot toys and fed lots till she fell asleep again about 6 for 1/2 an hour. By 9am i wanted lunch! !
Right she's asleep. .. i must sleep.

somewherebecomingrain · 27/03/2014 02:50

Oh god. Fallen off. Am intimidated by how much I've missed. Can anyone give me a round up of the key points? Is everyone well? Xxx

drspouse so sorry about your news. I hope all is not lost and that you get your child xxx

Loving all these naughty boys on the phone stories.

A great poo work! Mummy must be pleased.

Somelet is crawling and standing and a tad slimmer. She is so smiley and gorgeous and huggy. She nuzzles in. Her roar is coming out a bit more - she is vocal when crossed to putti mildly. She wants the person she wants and sometime mummy ain't no good, mummy can't give her the water IT HAS TO BE DADDY. Roarrrrr!!! It's rare but it's marked!

Hugs to all you lovely ladies x
