Hello again, sorry for usual rubbishness at keeping up.
We've had a chaotic couple of weeks and I never seem to have free hands to type.
Last week our heating went off on Monday so I called the estate agents to get a plumber out on Tuesday morning. The plumber came very quickly, but after half an hour of searching it transpired that the key to the shed where the boiler is was in my elder stepson's pocket at work 13 miles away. That was embarrassing.
On Wednesday the plumber returned. He started the boiler and water started pouring through the light fixing in the kitchen ceiling! He decided that a builder needed to come and take up the bathroom floor so he left. The builder came in the afternoon and knocked a hole in the kitchen ceiling, couldn't see a leak, decided he needed the plumber there. So we had no heating, no hot water and no lights in the kitchen.
On Thursday the plumber had a funeral so couldn't come, but we had baby massage and hung out at the children's centre for an extra hour to feed in the warm!
On Friday the plumber and builder arrived at 8am! The leak was fixed leaving no trace except for the 5 holes in the kitchen ceiling, bits of plaster all over the kitchen sides and shelves and the smell of damp plaster.
Friday lunchtime we started weaning! Baby camper was thrilled, he nearly bit our hands off.
Friday afternoon we packed the 17 year old's bag and yomped across the fields of Surrey to make sure he got to the campsite to do his youth test. He is perfectly capable of packing his own bag but was having a wobble. He whinged all the way to the end of the lane to the site where we left him to it. Baby C was in the back pack on his dad's back and giggled all the way! Fortunately the lad passed his test (the tester took his asbergers into account, I think), so we don't have to try and drag him out again in the winter - he had to pass before his birthday in March.
On Sunday my friend came over so I could go in the loft. My husband can't go up the ladder or pass stuff because of his broken collar bone. We got the next couple of clothes sizes down as well as the cot. It's lovely having a whole new wardrobe for nye! He's now going into 3-6 month stuff. He's 6 months this week. The clothes are still big, but at least he has more room for his cloth nappies!
Sorry for the me me me post. I should be asleep since it's one of the rare nights when baby c has gone back in his moses basket!
