We are 40+ mummies sharing all the highs and lows of our autumn crocus babies. Also sharing tips and information (most crying is tiredness!) and jokes. Please join us!

None are so old as those who have outlived enthusiasm
You are only young once, but you can stay immature indefinitely
It's sad to grow old, but nice to ripen.

Home now, will be easier to post than in a moving bus .... :)
This friend changed serology during pg and the medication against toxo made her so sick, baby was fine but had to be monitored for a long time after birth to make sure toxo did not affect eye sight, brain... This is to be taken very seriously. I never managed to get antibodies against it, even if love blue steak and had lots of contacts with cats...
Somewhere, DS is doing phonics as well, we have our daily 5 min reading. During half term, he has a line to learn for the nativity play beginning of Dec !
Shopping wasn't great today, DS did not find anything. Internet then is my last chance.

What's 6mo between friends? (come to think of it T's whole life)

scarecrow22 · 22/10/2013 19:01

that "gush" should also be in hushed tones

rosiedays · 22/10/2013 19:48

Quick one ladies. .... let me take you bsck in time. ....
Dd water went at 4 she's since had a significant show ( plug) and Has tightening, not regularly or very painful. Ward crazy busy.
They want to induse ??? Not sure why other than it's convenient for them.
Have told dd.. your body your baby stuff buy of course want her to avoid intervention if possible.
She has strep b
God this is stressful. . 1 on boob, one in labour! !!! But many can say that! !

rosiedays · 22/10/2013 19:52

So how long before she really should accept induction? ? I've said ask for monitoring and reassess in morning if nothing changes. Your wise views much appreciated.

No other issues with her or baby

rosiedays · 22/10/2013 19:57

But many should have been bet not many! !!!

somewherebecomingrain · 22/10/2013 20:31

I'm a trust the doctors kind of person. You want the baby and mum safe, style of delivery is just a nice to have. Why do they want to induce?

OP posts:
somewherebecomingrain · 22/10/2013 20:32

Oh I see convenience. That isn't a good reason. Can your daughter ask? There might be a proper medical reason.

scarecrow22 · 22/10/2013 20:33

two kids, two technically elective cs here, so I'm not one to advise on non intervention! So, so hope your dd will deliver her lo safely; will be thinking of you all tonight x

blueblackdye · 22/10/2013 20:36

Rosie, with DS, I did not have Strep B but water leaks and not very effective contractions, I was induced 36h after water leak and roughly 6h of contractions. Fx for your DD1 and baby. How is Rosebud ?

blueblackdye · 22/10/2013 20:47

Hey Valium Queen, we missed you. Glad you found us, we are still here ! The snug has an Egyptian atmosphere, lots of spces and smells, very comfy with great chatterboxes, babies not always behaving but all adorable and gorgeous.
Let us know how J is doing, has the milk intolerance gone ? How about DDs ? And you, coping with 3 ?

blueblackdye · 22/10/2013 20:58

VQ, can you believe J is 1 soon ?
DS will be 5 on Thursday and since 10th Oct, I can see myself back in time doing my last minute preparation, MW, private medical insurance, conversations with my Mum, DH working from the Parisian office.... Weird!

rosiedays · 22/10/2013 21:01

Hi bbd rosebud is much better thank you
Just snuffly at night. Back to feeding lots
Weight in today 5.5kg ( double birth weight) :)

rosiedays · 22/10/2013 22:09

Dealing with mummy guilt. .. dd1 wants me there. Dd3 needs me more. :(

scarecrow22 · 22/10/2013 22:37

You must be a really mum Rosie: It never occurred to me to have DM with me through birth or immediately after.... Isn't that what baby's dad is for??

PuddingAndHotMilk · 22/10/2013 23:09

I'm giving up on catching up. Sorry everyone, bad form I know...
Rosie - they induced me 30 hours after waters went due to 'risk of infection'. Dunno if strep b means earlier induction/higher risk?
Fx all is well and we'll have new baby news soon ThanksThanks

It was great to meet up earlier Rosie. Rosebud is an absolute angel!!
We should make a SW meet up a regular thing. Who else is out this way, me, Rosie, Eagle... Goat??

Love to everyone else and I'll try to keep up now x

somewherebecomingrain · 23/10/2013 07:31

rosie sorry if that sounded bossy - it's v personal. I am not confident about childbirth having had two c-sections!

Hats off to your extraordinary situation and looking forwards to rosebuds niece arriving! X

Rosie, DD3 is definitively your priority number 1 atm, when she is fully recovered from her cold, maybe then you two can spend a few days with DD1 and DGC2, and help/show her and her husband what to do with a newborn if it is what they want you to do, I can imagine how hard it is for you to be torn between your children, you love them equally but one is so tiny and the other one is far away. Hugs to you

rosiedays · 23/10/2013 08:49

Thanks bbd
I know rosebud is priority. Dd1 is a pfb child. I have never not been there for her :( . I would have loved to have been there but I do believe it's something she should do with her dh. (Who is perfectly capable ). It's a special bonding in a marriage. Imo. I'm with you scarecrow! !! ! My mother is the last person id want there! !

Ook live birth update She's doing really well. She was on ward last night and went into established labour naturally. Moved to delivery this morning. She'd just had epidural when i spoke to her about 7 and was so so happy and excited Grin
Midwife said probably by lunchtime!
Will keep you updated!

somewherebecomingrain · 23/10/2013 09:10

rosie what bbd said. My eq is not good today! Xxx
