How old was your baby when they stopped having a bottle before bed

One of my friends has told me how her boys both stopped having bottles at about 10 months

My dd is nearly one and she still likes her bottles, i'm going to put her just onto cups/beakers in the day times soon but i think she will want her bedtime bottle for a bit longer

Much to my despair DD still has a bottle before bed and she's 2.2! I have tried everything to try and get her to have it in a cup but it seems that it's a firmly entrenched part of her routine and she's having none of it. I guess she'll drop it in her own time and she pretty much always goes straight to sleep after the bottle (after cleaning teeth) so I can't complain too much.

15mo still has all three milk drinks in bottles. She adamantly refuses to drink milk from anything else and trust me, we've tried every bloody beaker and cup on the market. I started a thread about it a while ago after the HV gave me a real talking to about the need to stop with the bottles, and when DD broke down into hysterics of hunger because I was trying to get her to drink from something she didn't like. To her, thirst = water = beaker, and hunger = milk - bottle.

The responses said it was pretty common and not to stress, but obviously to make sure that you clean their teeth after the last bottle if they still like it right before bed.

2nd birthday was the last one, he only had his bed time one anyway. He refused to have milk in anything else and will only have water to drink otherwise. With my second boy, I'll be switching to a cup/beaker from 6 months so that a bottle and container to drink from in the hope that he doesn't have the same fussiness.

My dd was four! She was a premmie and frankly the chance of getting that much milk in her morning and night, was too good an opportunity to miss...

She's taller than me now and doing gcse's

Yep I confess that dd 2.3 also has a bot bot at bedtime and first thing in the morning.
I don't actually care that much either. She's happy I'm happy she doesn't eat sweets or crisps and drinks milk or water not juice.
I pick my battles after five dc.

My son still has a bottle before bed at 2 and a half :/ and will only drink his milk from a bottle. Had a nightmare trying to get him to drink from a beaker at 2 as I wanted it all out the way before number 2 came. However he was having none of it and refused to touch anything other than the bottle. I finally caved in as he needs fluids and over time he's started asking for his beaker more, only with water though. Maybe because I'm not forcing it down his neck and he knows he can have his bottle whenever he likes. The dentist said his teeth perfect fine and just as longs I carry on brushing twice a day they'll continue to be. He may well grow out of it himself (hopefully) so going to leave it for a bit.

DD is 18 months and will drink from sippy cups during the day, but steadfastly hangs on to her bedtime bottle. Which is odd, as she wants to copy her 4 yo brother in everything else. He has milk in a beaker with a lid.

DS1 was 13 months, but he was drinking too much milk and had shot off the top of the 100% centile line. We moved him to be beaker to deliberately cut back his milk intake.

DS2 was around 15 months, but still has a sippy cup at bedtime. He is 6 years now.

Ds2 still has a bottle at bedtime (before teeth-cleaning).

He's 5.6!!! We've tried everything but he stubbornly still wants his bottle. I checked with our dentist who said it was fine- better for ds2 to have the milk in a bottle than not have any at all, which is what would be happening.

So a bottle it is.

My DD is 13 months and has a bottle in the morning and before bed. I've asked her nursery to offer her milk in her sippy cup in the afternoon but she flatly refuses and will only drink water from it. Have got a big beaker and going to attempt getting her to take milk from it in the next few weeks... Ideally I would like her off bottles completely before DC2 arrives later this year but not going to lose sleep over it if it doesn't happen!

Ds is 16mo and will not give up bottle, beakers and cups for all other drinks but he is determined that bottles are for milk....am sick of buying more beakers so have admitted defeat for now

DD was 2y 8 months. She loved her bottle, fell asleep cuddling it. I wasn't a bit bothered, nor was dentist who says her teeth are just great.
She takes a beaker with lid of water up to bed now and cuddles that instead.

DS is 3.4 and still has his bottle before bed. DD was probably just under 3 when she stopped hers.

He was just turning two - he dropped it quite happily when staying with grandparents. I think a change of scene makes changing routines easier.

Dd is 2.6 and has milk morning and before bed. Its part of her routine, although she moved to a tommee tippee spout at about a 18 months old (mainly due to the fact the teat on her bottle broke and I was too broke to afford new ones!) don't sweat it

This thread is really reassuring me. DS is 16mo and loves his bottles first thing and last thing at night. I was all panicky around the 10-12 month mark, but have given up. He just laughs when I try to give him milk from a sippy cup

I'm with Beachyhead - DS was prem and is still small at over 2 yrs so I will let him have his morning and evening bottle for as long as he wants it. So cute as well when he snuggles into his blanket with his thumb and the teat in his mouth

Dd is 13 months. Morning milk is in a cup bedtime a bottle. Just because a cup is still a bit messy and not exactly a calming experience. Especially at the end when she's frustrated at sucking air cos she hasn't Sussed to tip her head back!

Ds1 bfed till 18mths.

Ds2 bfed till almost four years.

Ds3 bed till 3 and a half.

Ds4 had bottle before bed til 3yrs 5mths.

Dd is 28mths and has a bottles before bed.

They will grow out of it, mime all drank water from a sippy cup in the day and I clean teeth after bottle before bed.

Its a comfort and its fine IMO :)

My DD2 is 3.5 and still has a bottle for nap and bedtime. The worst thing is, she was breastfed till 13 months! I introduced the bottle AFTER she was meant to have stopped having it.

I have no idea why I did that.

She has her bottle and her smelly blanket to suck on, but then DD1 still had a dummy till she turned 5. I think I just have sucky babies. Both of them managed to breastfeed through my nightie at some point as babies, and both were little milk monsters - tiny as newborns, so they needed it I suppose.

DD2 potty trained herself the other week, she just announced "I not wear nappies any more" and she now is dry. It was weird. I'm hoping she does the same with bottles.

Mine still love bottle in the morning and at night at 2.10 and 5.6. It's a sports bottle mind, no idea if its better or worse we just brush teeth thoroughly.
