They most certainly do. Wait til he starts with poo face.

Fromage Frais do not last long here. Wink

Ds3 had just woke and fed and back to sleep and ds1 is still up drawing but he's been good and done well at school so he can.

Any weekend plans? I might bake with ds1, egg man has been round.

rrreow · 17/05/2013 23:13

Maybe try some real yoghurt next time rather than fromage frais? Yoghurt is actually partly digested (when you turn milk into yoghurt it actually gets partly digested through the live culture you add to it, so yoghurt is more gentle on the stomach than other dairy products - as basically half the work has already been done for your stomach). Full fat greek style yoghurt is great as it's so thick it sticks to a spoon and it can pretty much be picked up by little hands/fingers Grin

Also, don't try it yourself as it's SOOOO good but it's 10% fat so you'll be cursing yourself for your new addiction.

DH is working tomorrow (from 5pm-3am Shock), but at least I get him for most of the day. I think I'll be making a beef stew. Have been very responsible and thinking ahead and cooking HUUUUUUUGE portions so I can stuff the freezer with meals for when DS2 arrives. I remember doing this last time around but I think I only managed about 3 or 4 meals (then again I didn't expect on having DS1 at 38w so that's my defense). Got 10 family sized portions of a variety of things in the freezer so far! Anyone got any tips for stuff that's easy to cook in big quantities and freezes well? So far I've got: chili sauce, bolognese sauce, chicken stew & tomorrow's beef stew.

Mmmm greek yogurt with banana and honey Grin and maybe a handful of oats. I never knew that about Fromage Frais. Why is it always in tiny pots?

I had 10.30pm, midnight, 2am and he is awake now and wont go back to sleep!

Ive now had a headache for a week and have daily nosebleeds. Shock Naice!!

Have you picked a name yet? Are you getting a birthing pool?

What about Lasagne, cottage pie? I didn't bother with any of that as I was straight back on Mum duties 4 hours after I got home. Still want another freezer though so I can fill it! Mine is too small.

Stew = happy tum. With crusty bread and dumplings.

NappyHappy · 18/05/2013 06:04

For the tray bake stuff, I think you can get lidded foil trays roasting dish size, save on washing up too Wink Wink

PurplePidjin · 18/05/2013 13:08

He liked the pasta (overcooked so very soft!) but dp tired him out at dad's group at the surestart centre so he only had a few mouthfuls. He's now down for a nap and dp is roasting lamb. I'm having a little sit down before the 20 minute re-settle and will then carry on with my housework from this morning!

New nappy probably would have lasted the night except for poo at 4. I have the incredible potty-training new born who won't stay in a dirty or too-wet nappy Hmm

We've always had poo face, he knows when he's going!

rrreow · 18/05/2013 13:17

You can buy bigger pots of fromage frais, they're cheaper than buying the portion sized ones. And it's plain so no added sugar.

We've picked a first name but still deciding on middle name. Everything will be tightly under wraps until he's born Grin

Had a pool last time, which we obviously never got to use, so we're not getting one this time. Also we haven't really got room anymore as it was in what is now DSs room.

NappyHappy · 18/05/2013 14:15

Mmm roast lamb. I am so coming to your house for food! Its Chinese take away tonight. Which pasta did you get? Wink to it staying down.

I'm all excited for you R, the water makes it so much easier. My hands went all funny after leaning on them for ages. Grin

Both small persons asleep and ds1 and his hyper mate are bouncing all over the place. Shock

rrreow · 18/05/2013 14:26

DS slept in like a teenager this morning, so he protested a lot about being put down for a nap. Luckily he's down now so I've been cooking the beef stew (I feel like a housewife from the 50s). Once it's simmering I think I shall go work on the owl blanket. It's such a fun crochet project! Huge though.. and don't talk to me about the amount of yarn ends ShockAngry I shall attempt to finish it before the DC have moved out Grin

PurplePidjin · 18/05/2013 15:45

Just baby pasta in little flower shapes. He was too tired to eat much, then had barely 30 mins nap before howling the place down inbetween draining both boobs twice. Dp has taken him off to the shops for teabags and I'm replacing lost fluids with coffee (decaff)

I walked my feet off in labour. Was left to it for long periods, so my overriding memory is of pacing up and down a small room howling every 3 minutes.

I'm working on my woolly hug squares i crochet over my ends to save sewing!

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 18/05/2013 15:47

Ha, yeah, or you'll be sat there when old and grey still doing it! The pattern is beautiful.

Are you having dumplings? It is a crime if not Wink

NappyHappy · 18/05/2013 15:55

I've got the star shaped ones. R is doing great for eating them like that Grin isn't it easier than farting around with big shapes?

Has he teeth yet? Wonder if that's disrupting his sleep?

Both are still asleep. Will wake them at 4. Ds2 still plays with his cars at silly o clock then goes back to sleep. Strange boy.

Still need to finish my WH squares, will get them done this week.

Does it feel like a Sunday?

BiscuitCrumbsInBed · 18/05/2013 17:46

It totally feels like a Sunday - maybe that's because I'm at my mum's lazing in a deck chair inthe garden while the doting grandparents run after DD Grin

Reading this thread made me hungry! rrreow I have a great recipe for lamb stew somewhere. V easy and yum. Will see if I can find it online anywhere. NH and pidj baby biscuit loves Greek yog with a bit of Ella's kitchen The Red One fruit stuff mixed with it. Mmm. She's reduced her bf ing loads in the last week (in day time at least) if this keeps up we may actually manage to have another one at some point...!

Still haven't tried out the size 3 LL on her, going to prewash loads as I want it for night time. Had the most amazing donation of nappies from BumGenius for the library! I cant wait to trial them on DD, never used BG before. It's nuts with the library - I've had so many people asking about borrowing, even doing loans by post to people in south london. Just got 2 more email enquiries today...!

rrreow · 18/05/2013 18:14

I'm glad the library is taking off, that's great! I think it's such an important environmental issue.

Not having dumplings this time Sad as it's too much work while looking after DS. Although grrr I'm really craving them now!! Maybe I can quickly whip up some small ones..

I can't work in the crochet ends as I go along as the colour motifs are created separately and worked in the round. But at least I'm doing the ends after finishing each motif so shouldn't be too bad in the end. I even managed to crochet while DS was in the room earlier. It did involve giving him a crochet hook and some scrap yarn though as he was waaaay too interested in my yarn! Thanks for pointing me in the direction of Woolly Hugs by the way. Such amazing projects, really heartwarming to see people pull together like that. I sent off two squares the other day.

PurplePidjin · 18/05/2013 18:20

Unless his amber is far less woo than i thought there are no apparent teeth. I think he's just having a massive grow - he's suddenly filling out his 3-6 clothes to the point I've prewashed all his 6-9 today...

He ate nearly the whole bowl tonight! That's 1oz cauli, 1/2 oz cheese and 2 tbsp pasta!

OP posts:
rrreow · 18/05/2013 18:26

Lesson: wear an apron if working with flour while pregnant Hmm bump just got a good dusting..

PurplePidjin · 18/05/2013 18:55

I walked round with a permanent wet line across mine from wiping surfaces and washing up!

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 18/05/2013 20:22

Grin and Sad to maybe the end of bf then Biscuit?

I always had dinner medals on my bumps Hmm the water marks were round my side as I couldn't reach the surfaces Shock

The amber has helped relief the pain a bit and the cheeks haven't been red but I've given him calpol tonight as he was chewing his fingers and winging lots. He has eaten more today.

R certainly is getting rather long Grin which is not surprising the amount he puts away.

Mum called round before so I got her to change bums. Ha, she poppered them wrong.

I can't wait to lounge in the garden.

BiscuitCrumbsInBed · 18/05/2013 23:05

Yeah bit of both NH, it's happened really suddenly literally in the last week that she's started to go much longer in the day without asking, and if she asks, is easily distracted. Still feeding to sleep but pulling away and almost trying to go sleep without it. It's great that its been mostly her 'decision' - I was starting to think she'd never want to stop and i'd end up having a really upsetting time refusing her - but now I feel like I don't get any cuddles of her any more! Mind you she's such a mo key she might change her mind again next week.. But I am going to try and keep this progress going, it is what I want really. Just didn't expect to miss the physical closeness to her as much as I do. A bit Sad but it is just part of her growing into a little girl, not my baby any more, I guess... my baby!!!

PurplePidjin · 19/05/2013 09:22

6 months today Shock

OP posts:
rrreow · 19/05/2013 13:53

Happy half birthday to littlepidj!

rrreow · 19/05/2013 14:00

Hmm at other people changing nappies wrong.. I mean, is it so hard really?? DH put some Alvas on DS the other day and just completely ignored the leg poppers. Then SIL (who looks after DS during the week when he's not at nursery) keeps putting in the liners way too much to the front, so when he does a poo I have a nappy that is half covered with poo. Yuck. So I mentioned it to her (in a very nice way! giving her the tip that with two parters you can let the liner be 'caught' by the edge and back of the inner so it doesn't move so much) and she was like "oooh so less towards the front?" and I'm like wtf do you think the poo comes out in the first place...?!!

DS stopped breastfeeding of his own accord as well, he was around 14 months. Well he didn't exactly stop, but every time I offered he'd be distracted within 3 minutes. So at a certain point I stopped offering and he never asked for it. I was sad to lose the closeness (although he's very cuddly now!) but so glad to get that time back to myself! I look forward to bf-ing DS2, I hope it'll go smoothly (took 6 months with DS..)

PurplePidjin · 19/05/2013 14:14

My mum did that on a realeasy, makes me wonder how some people dressed every day - my mum's pretty intelligent!

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 19/05/2013 14:57

Poppers arent rocket science though are they?

DS1 has started asking questions about Mums and Dads body hair Shock then said to me Im laughing at your boobies Mummy. Thanks son! I cant bathe in peace. Shock

rrreow · 20/05/2013 14:29

I have pregnancy brain!! DS is napping and I just had this OMG PANIC moment as I saw a picture with an elephant which made me think "I didn't put a wrap around DSs nappy!!!" as I had picked up the elephant wrap to put on but then couldn't remember actually putting it on. Then I realised I asked him to choose between monsters and elephants and he chose monsters. Which I do recall putting on him. Phew.
