No idea where to put this... Nighttime nappies for 7kg baby leaky at night

I use pampers super dry for my 12 month old dd who is pump fed 400ml overnight. Her nappy is changed when she goes to bed at 7, then at 11 then and 3. Invariably when we get up at 6.30 ish everything is SOAKED right down to the mattress.

She tends to hold it in and then do one giant pee. I use a mattress pad over the sheet (sort of incontinence one) but her bag, clothes and comforter tend to be soggy.

What's the best nappy? She's only 7kg and I have tried loads but the sheer volume seems to be too much for the nappy to handle all at once...

Any ideas?

I'm sure you've done this, but have you tried the very biggest size nappy for her weight ?

both my dds have been heavy wetters
TBH there is no "better nappy" - you just have to experiment with which brand fits best, which IME changes each time they have a growth spurt.
We use up any failed experiments during the daytime.
Currently we find Asda own brand nappies best, better than branded.

I found Tescos own brand works better than the big brand nappies.

400ml is a lot of milk over night isn't it? It's nearly a pint!

My dc used the green pampers ones, usually buy a size bigger than the activ fit ones are they seem small.

I think I'd try cutting down the milk tbh as at 12mo its not as vital and then you might be able to drop a night feed?

Is pampers super dry same as baby dry?? Baby dry works best for us. Dd is such a heavy wetter the nappy hits the floor with a thud in the morning, but no leaks. Agree with trying a size up.

I think you may be using the orange super dry pampers?? Try the green baby dry ones!

I find lidl are the best for keeping DD dry all night. Hope they help!

400ml does seem a lot of milk. At 12 mo that is more milk then my two had all day. Does she eat well?

We went weeks of nightly leaks then suddenly all stopped and he still kicks around everywhere so not sure why the change

If she's pump fed am assuming it's for medical reasons so cutting down not an option? You could always try putting an incontinence pad eg tena into the nappy to boost it or alternatively using a nappy wrap for reusables over the top to contain the leaks.

She will be being fed that amount as monitored by a Doctor/ Dietician. It would be really foolish for the OP to reduce her pump feed without consulting someone first. Her DD has it for a medical reason (and I am certain OP doesn't need telling that).

So she's doing one big wee after 3am and before 6:30am. Could you move your 3am check to 4am? Or 5am?

Have you considered putting her in the babydry as currently, and then looking at a (much bigger) pullup or reusuable over the top?

Try Naty ones, expensive but contain my dd's mega wees better than others. Aldi are good too.

They just called it tube fed when my dd was in SCBU.

My middle dd used to store wee for through the night and end up saturated. I used to put on her normal nappy then a bigger one over it.

Nappies also leak when they are too big, myDD went from 4+ to size 4 recently because of leaking.

Another thing we've found is if her vest is getting neat then nappies were more prone to leaks.

Yes she has a gastrostomy so have a continuous 8 hour feed overnight. Have jut gone out and basically bought all the nappies on the market and will test!

Also discovered adult incontinence sheet covers are cheaper than the baby ones (!) in Boots.

The problem is (I think) that she stores up all her pee then lets it go at once. God knows how big her bladder is

Last night I checked at 3am - dry. 6am - was like a biblical flood of pee. Baby and all bedclothes with sopping, nappy had practically burst.

Maybe a bigger nappy on top of her normal nappy.
