For a giggle.. What are YOUR parenting 'mantras' when all is TOTES shite??;)

My stock ones are 1 & 2, but the other two make me smile so included them too, have always been:

1. 'Absolute love, absolute boundaries' - for when DC's (ESP the teen bit) being vile, driving me nuts, making me wish never bloody had them, &/or when facing really serious vile shit 'challenging'
   
2. 'This too shall pass' - for when positively frickin suicidal a tad overwhelmed
   
3. My newest one (from MN yest ) 'Perspective is ALL'
   
4. The one I tried (for, ooohh, a day or so until the next VERY eewweeyy day) but learnt to ignore a looooonnnnggggg time ago - on basis of the VERY handy mantra Needs Must - but if you say it's only me I will SOOOO know you're lying... was the Sunday Times Columnist's fess-up one re craving which she was succumbing to at about 5pm as her sanity saviour (ESP when at home with L'IL DC's all day) but to which she then created mantra of "No wine before 6 o'clock mummy" to resolve...(no, me too betting she off-loaded that mantra herself within a few weeks of writing it )

My fault, I totally misread it... is prob reflection on me/shitty morn (up at 6am for snow shovelling school run, followed by heartbreaking visit to my emaciated & now drifting in and out of consciousness dying Ma followed by getting home to a mail from darling ExH solely asking how soon we can sell her flat).

...as of COURSE it was 'your' phrase' as opposed to the 'pull-up' I thought it was. Just failed see it

And I know all LP's do great job btw, my ref to other posts was that it's been under fairly extreme and horribly vile circs and DS1 & DS2 could have ended up in very bad places had I NOT managed some of the stuff I've done, so was sort of pointing you to those as genuinely thought you thought I was taking my parental job as trivial (which so don't - hence need for bloody gallows humour at times!). Sorry...

Another one with 'its only a phase'
and also 'alcohol is the anaesthetic for the operation of life'
(which is a quotation, or paraphrase of a quotation, but its now very late and I cannot remember who I am trying to quote - and have foresworn alcohol from 1 Jan to 16 Feb, so at times life is currently somewhat painful - 14 and 16 year olds grappling with GCSE modules, controlled assessments, and Art and Textiles.....!)

I have a couple of more now - "I love you and I always will, but I don't have to like you or your behaviour" and in response to the usual "it's not fair" whining I'm usually found saying "Life isn't fair, deal with it!".
