chairman huge sympathies. Have been there and am there presently with things not going so well with DH. Sleep deprivation is definitely our main instigator. We also have the 'conversation' re DH apparently doing everything and has no time to himself at all. I then find myself pointing out that I often take both kids to playdates or to the shops on my own (he never does), and so he then has time to himself at home. My DH doesn't seem to understand how luxurious I think it is even to have an hour away from both kids.....
Our latest reason for a tense atmosphere is about lie ins. Today he's lying in for a second time. - I wanted to say to him last night errr where's my lie in?? But knew it would end in a row.
Thankfully, I don't have the financial arguments. That sounds so frustrating. It's no wonder you feel as if you're being controlled. You are right though this will pass in time. Things will get easier when both of you aren't so damn knackered.
somewhere co-sleeping is the way forward!! I've had baby KK In our bed every night since born. He doesn't settle after 3am any other way. I need sleep so he falls asleep using the crook of my arm as a pillow. He then sleeps like a dream till 5.30. A far more civil waking time . How's things at the nursery? Must still feel a bit tense when collecting him in case they say something negative about his day?
My DD is still stamping feet and having tantrums. Stickers and sweets are having some success. She tells me she loves her baby brother but misses cuddles with mummy

chair - how did DS get on in his big boy's bed? we had a little cuddly visitor in the wee small hours. neither of us had the energy to take her back (plus I was secretly loving it and suspect DH was too) so we pretended we hadn't noticed and she slept between us My mum would be horrified, which makes it just that little bit more wonderful

scarecrow we didn't do the bed yesterday due to hostilities (!), but I put it up this afternoon and he's I'm it now. He seemed to really like it when we took him up to look at it. It took him an hour to get to sleep, which is unusual. Let's see what happens tonight. He's a nightmare to share a bed with because he wriggles constantly. Last time he kept sitting bolt upright and shouting 'bike!'. Gawd knows what that was about.

Talking of bikes, I had my first go on the turbo trainer today and loved it! So glad to be back in the saddle, even if not on the road. I will need to wear the Lycra though because I need the padded bit - sore bot after just a few minutes. Me in cycling gear. The horror, the horror.

So, DH and I had a chat. I stayed very calm (most unlike me) and explained how I feel. DH claimed not to know what I was talking about but eventually capitulated and said he didn't mean to be overbearing, he maybe just phrases things badly. He has promised to choose his words more carefully. It was somewhat spoilt by him issuing yet another childcare 'order' but he soon backed down when I pointed out what he'd said. I will keep on top of it on the hope that it will improve.

Thanks again for support. I'm sorry I'm not the only one to be feeling a bit stabby towards my partner at the moment. Thanks for sharing your experiences. I feel a bit more normal now.

Well, DS was a little star last night. He slept through til 6.30, when he called for us. DH put him back into bed and he waited patiently for me to get him up. Made a huge fuss of him this morning and he seemed very proud of himself. Let's hope it continues because my bruiser of a baby daughter will soon have outgrown the Moses basket so she'll be in 'his' cot.

well done ChairmanJr . Isn't it cute when they feel all grown up and are still really so wee. DD cam in twice, once we led her back to bed without a big fuss (her powers of argument were impressive for 2am though), and again not long before 6. My gut says morning will gradually shift soon so I'll focus on the night waking first. tbh she was a bit disoriented. Your DS sounds adorable.
had a good day with both DC yesterday and DH came home to a happy peaceful tidyish house and 1.5 bathed children at 6.30. I somehow feel that was the peak of my mothering career, but nice to have achieved it once. I'd even. poked a slow roast aubergine, pepper and anchovy mix which smelt divine Today I am happily back to dazzling, coffee drinking and general lack of focus ....trying to get motivated to tackle 50 odd thank you cards I need to write. Might just post a v cut pic of T I took last night on my profile page for 48 hours.

scarecrow I'm sure you dazzle on a daily basis! Sounds like a very productive day yesterday. I've been having one today. Massive tidy, a go on the turbo trainer and now making spinach and feta pie. Also tackling DD's daytime napping - she's only been sleeping when held up til now, which isn't practical. I've managed to get her to sleep in the Moses but only if swaddled. Still, a bit of an achievement and my back and shoulders are grateful!

Also hoping baby cycle continues to make progress.

Oh, scarecrow I meant to say, have you tried a Gro clock if DD is getting up too early? We were having some horrendous 5.30 wake-ups in the weeks before DD was born so thought it was worth a try. Apart from this morning DS has waited for us quietly every morning since we got one. When I've talked to him about the clock he's seemed completely indifferent and he never mentions it, but I'm convinced it's helped him understand getting up time.

If your DD keeps getting up in the night it might also be helpful.

As I tidied all my drawers and made a tabouleh salad to use up all the cucumber (the world's most pointless veg?) I have allowed myself two photos in my profile/gallery of DC. Will take down in a couple of days as still not that comfortable with social media sharing (it's been a big journey here...), but not enough people are admiring them in RL so I rely on all of you to have a look and make a lot of insincere noises about how gorgeous they both are while secretly thinking how much lovlier your own DC are

oh Scarecrow they are both absolutely gorgeous!!

I remember (tearfully) showing off Baby Eagleray on here just after she was born and it cheered me up quite a lot when I was feeling like shit
