MrsR that site shows alot of the kind of stuff I make for a living :o I have a few new ideas and I'm considering starting work again soon. Baby is lovely but she's so good I dont know what to do with myself! Its nice to see other crafty types, though I suppose if you cross sectioned the sling/fluffy mums alot of them would be into crafts, or at least most of the ones I have met in rl are anyway Smile

PurplePidjin · 11/01/2013 00:01

They did fantastically - better than i normally do! Apart from ds vomiting spectacularly twice - think his eyes are bigger than his tummy when it comes to bottles - they had giggles and games all evening.

Dp is exhausted with a splitting headache now Sad but I'm off out with my mum all day tomorrow so he can rest up.

I crochet, am making hats for people who like ds's reindeer (on profile) and bunny. I can do that while bfing! on the left

Must get some sleep, the boys have been zonked for 45 minutes now! I'll investigate the link next feed :)

That's brilliant pp! Did you sneak a pic of them both? Grin it was good all round then!!

I've had a banging head for 2 days now, think I'm run down and coming down with flu.

Nah, bedroom's a tip!

KentuckyFriedChildren · 11/01/2013 09:38

I'm a bit crap at crochet :o I used to make clothes but since having dcs I've been doing baby things like change bags and toys. I'm making it my new mission to make 'babywearing' more accessible cos I think people dont do it because they think it's too much faff. I have a new idea for a sling that may or may not work but I'm going to try it out and if it does I'll post a pic. I'll try and dig out my flash drive that has some of the stuff I've sold in the past too Smile

MrsReiver · 11/01/2013 11:43

Yay KFC I can't stand the term "babywearing."

I don't like "attachment parenting" either because I don't think I am very "AP" I just do what works for us and our kids. If pushed I'd label myself a "make it up as I go along parent"

I can sew in a straight line and cross stitch, I've made laundry bags and taggie blankets for friends, and I made a toy MT for DS when he was little. That's about the limit of my abilities.

Looking forward to seeing your sling idea!

NappyHappy · 11/01/2013 13:05

Baby led parenting. Grin they lead, we follow.

You lot have inspired me to get sewing again. I'd love to learn crochet, do you think that new mag that's come out will be any good?

Just got back from baby massage, synchronized crying! was very nice though, they held the class in the sensory room. ds2 didn't mind being in the creche either.

Why do men always leave the bedroom a tip? Sounds like they had a ball! Wink

BiscuitCrumbsInBed · 11/01/2013 13:29

Hi all, glad it went so well last night Pidj Hope you're feeling better NappyHappy, flu is miserable, I've had a cold lurgy for about a week and its lifting now but has not been fun. My real easy nappies arrived today and they are looooovely! Bought cos I can't resist a sale, 2 large and 2 small (so I have to have another baby now?!) the PUL outer ones are ok but the minky ones are so thick and soft, baby biscuit picked them up straight away and ran round cuddling them and shouting 'gorgeous'! Grin thinking of swapping the PUL ones for minky if they still have any in stock.... Or maybe I should just send the PUL ones back, I don't really need them. But,but, but... I want them!

V impressed by your craftiness KFC! Wish I had your problem and was looking for ways to fill my time Envy I still haven't finished knitting the (first of) a pair of wristwarmers I started about 14 months ago...sigh...

NappyHappy · 11/01/2013 14:00

Bless her, yes it dies mean you have to have another barbie Grin

The dog has shat allover the kitchen floor an had a big wee too just for good measure.

Deep breaths.

I've got a sorry you were out card from Royal Mail, more fluff?? Probably.

MrsReiver · 11/01/2013 14:38

Oh baby massage.... I'm having 'Nam style flash backs. I took DS when he was about 3 months, he peed in the face of the same little boy, two weeks in a row. Mortified doesn't even come close. After that we just kept his nappy on.

I was wondering about that mag, I've tried to crochet and knit so many times without success. It just involves my fingers doing too many different things, I'll stick to cross stitch. The results are beautiful and people who don't cross stitch are always impressed even though it's just painting by numbers with thread Grin

Oh and the postie has been! "DS'" super hero tots bot is here, I can't wait for him to see it. It's absolutely gorgeous. He made an excellent choice.

KentuckyFriedChildren · 11/01/2013 16:52

Thing is Biscuit ds is in school all day and dd1 is in nursery so I just have a v placid baby to deal with (and an excitable dog but she's no bother really) and obvis all the house stuff but that's not really much tbh. I'm a total insomniac so i'm up for around 20-22 hrs a day and I have to fill that time somehow. I cant spend all my time on MN :o

PurplePidjin · 11/01/2013 18:43

NH, the card's probably from me :o

My Realeasies came today too, prewash tomorrow and straight on his bum! All minky, too fluffy not to!

I've borrowed a woven from the sling library Shock

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 12/01/2013 09:11

The blue one pp? That's a great pic of you both. Its either off you or its my edging scissors Grin

I can't wait to get it, shall go Tuesday.

I'm steaming with flu/cold this morning and feel very meh. Somebody please come and look after the boys me.

Ds2 who is the worst sleeper out if the 3 woke just as I was dropping off which didn't help, got to make his appt re the rocking and head banging, he'll do it for hours if I let him Sad he's started shaking his head from side to side too. Confused

NappyHappy · 12/01/2013 09:12

Mrs R, they all started crying after a bit cos they got tired and wanted feeding, we had to sing. Not good!!

MrsReiver · 12/01/2013 10:39

Pidj what have you borrowed??

NH I think it's contagious, once one starts grizzling, they all do. It's like wee ones have some kind of hive mind.

BiscuitCrumbsInBed · 12/01/2013 11:18

Thanks KFC I feel a bit better - one day I'll have time to do something productive, one day... roll on primary school

Decided to keep the pul real Easies - justified it because of postage, it would have cost me £2.20 I think to send them back. So, because I didn't, I've actually saved the 2.20, meaning the nappies were even cheaper. How do you like my reasoning?! Grin When did post get so expensive?! I'm going to try to sell a couple of MioSolos on fb but 2nd signed for will cost 3.20! I'll have to put them on at a slightly cheeky price to make it worth it...

NH I hope you get some help with the kids today, it's so hard when your ill, is your DH able to take them out somewhere for a bit?

PurplePidjin · 12/01/2013 11:34

Blue stripy Storch, s'lovely but i don't have much tail Blush

I've got a parcel for KFC and a bag full to sell on fb, mainly fitteds i don't get on with - prefer prefolds then i need to try and persuade myself i don't need 5 days worth of day nappies, nor do i need more pretty night wraps...

Ds hasn't got ill yet, nor have i. I'm dreading it. Here's Brew BiscuitThanks to get you through!

Hi, sorry to barge in on your thread. Please can I ask you wise mumsnetters some advice on reusables?

Before DD was born I was adamant I'd use them but in those manic first weeks of a gazillion liquid poos my resolve slipped. She's now 15m!

Would it be worth trying them now? I'm not thinking of cost. She is prone to nappy rash, would they be better or worse for that?

Would these Bambinex ones be worth a try? A good price on zulily.

m.zulily.co.uk/product/95864?ref=event&pos=4

Or is there another brand you'd recommend?

Or is it more a case of buying a few different ones to see what suits us?

I do like the idea of the all in ones.

TIA.

KentuckyFriedChildren · 12/01/2013 12:47

Pidj I could kiss you! :o

Biscuit it gets better honest! Once they start school, even just nursery 15 hrs, you get some respite. I decided after I got ill not to go back to work outside the house but I work at home instead. I need something, you know? I'd be totally bored otherwise. This is why I love MN too cos I would be really isolated without it. I could go days without speaking to anyone 'cept dh.

Buffy rusies are much better for sensitive bots than sposies. All my dcs have/had nappy rash with sposies when I've needed them (have to use them for dd2's casting atm cos the plaster gets EVERYWHERE and they do her no favours) but not with fluff. They're much softer on their skin and not plasticky like sposie nappies.

KentuckyFriedChildren · 12/01/2013 12:56

Oh yeah MrsR I was thinking like a cross between a stretchy and a MT where the front panel is stretchy with the cross over and panel that you get with a stretchy but its enclosed in one panel like a MT and the straps are more structured like a MT too. I thought maybe a cross over at the back and attach with rings at each side rather than tie. It would mean that you could put it on before you put the baby in but it would have more structure to it and it would only be suitable for a front carry. Not sure if that makes any sense to you though. It does in my head :o

NappyHappy · 12/01/2013 13:31

Biscuit, dh does not help with the kids. He'll watch them whilst I cook but things like bath and bed is down to me. His reasoning is he's out the house from 5am to 6.30pm and us in too much pain to do anything else. I'm dosing myself up on green coffee Grin

Yep, one started crying, then the next one then mine Grin so funny and ds won the loudest most ear piercing shriek award, it makes your ears go funny. Just washed the fluff and wipes and got a mountain to put away.

No chocolate for just over a week now!! or sweets Grin

KentuckyFriedChildren · 12/01/2013 13:40

Argh my poor wee squisher just explodapooed on one of the couches. She had her first imms yesterday and is a bit off today. Dog tried to lick it. Bleurgh! Envy

LeBFG · 12/01/2013 13:58

Haha at our weird dogs. What is it with dogs and poo?? Swear mine could live off all the 'chocolate drops' he finds around the farm. Empathise with you NH re the pissing dog. My DH has an old cat that lives out all summer (great) but won't budge outside all winter...she'll get bored of using her litter tray. And then have bouts of vomming. Just old I suppose.

Hello to Buffy . 15m isn't too soon to start, esp if you have a suspicion a second may be on the cards. You could try some fitteds (better comtainment). Lots of people get on with the AIOs and on here everyone swears by the Alvas on ebay. I've yet to fully test, but as bf pooplosions are history now for you, it would definately be a good time to try AIOs.

Sorry I've missed quite a bit. Will read and catch up later.

KentuckyFriedChildren · 12/01/2013 15:34

I just cold washed the couch seat cover. Hopefully no lasting damage, though it does say dry clean only. Meh. Don't really care if its buggered, I want to redecorate in here anyway so was going to knock up some new covers once I find the right material. I want something hard wearing but cool and I've not found it yet. I'm painting the lounge bus red and I have a mural to put up on one wall which is black and white. It will look awesome :o

NappyHappy · 12/01/2013 15:37

Our white dog is another poo eater too. I took a pic of the mess she left y.day. She licks up baby sick and all sorts barf.

Hi Buffy, barge away Grin always good to have more!!

Just a thought pp, have you seen the brightly coloured terry squares on Flea bay?

Poop on couch, uh oh. Hope you get it out, I need to wash the cushion covers on mine, full of random baby/toddler stains.
