I need some new nappies. Dh took dd2 for her talipes clinic and left the change bag on the bus in town. Think someone's had it cos the bus company dont have it apparently Sad there was 5 clean nappies in there! How is everyone doing? I've not posted for a while- I keep getting distracted Blush

LeBFG · 09/01/2013 13:03

How crap Kentucky - I've lost so many things on buses...always had the wallets returned though thankfully!

The nappy lady's super-duper booster has hardly ever been used. I used it overnight with no great success and it's so bulky that I couldn't possibly use it under day clothes. Good job I only bought one. From memory, nappy lady has some boosters that aren't quite so super-duper so perhaps worth trying them? Haven't got much to share I'm afraid. Hopefully, the weeing is just a phase that'll pass. THis is also why people like to move up nappy sizes (on fitteds) as soon as they can - to improve absorbancy. VQ's idea RE prefolds stuffing sounds good.

MrsR - fluff should come with a warning 'can become addictive'.

PurplePidjin · 09/01/2013 13:37

KFC, what kind of nappies do you use? I received some RAOK ones that I'm still using but might be able to spare something early?

Just saw you on a premmie thread MrsR. I too have had a premmie - nearly 33 weeks and good weight etc. I'm desperately hoping this little dear goes longer. How are you doing? Have you gone past the previous drop date?

MrsReiver · 09/01/2013 17:42

Oh KFC that sucks - keep trying the bus company though.

BFG I can't afford another addiction, I already have too many slings (according to DH.)

I'm 33+2, DS was born at exactly 34 weeks, and we were discharged from consultant led care to our community midwife today! This baby seems very, very comfy where it is Grin

KentuckyFriedChildren · 09/01/2013 18:59

Pidj I have a selection :o I have tots bots, bambino mio, bambooty, bum genius, fuzzi buns and a couple of pre-folds and terries. The ones I lost were an assortment of those. If anyone fancies passing on any then name a price and postage. I'm not fussy what type. I've already looked on my local selling sites and it seems there are no fluffy babies near me! Shock Saying that I am the only one I know that uses a sling too. The village near us is quaite naice and full of stokkes whereas I am a bit lentil weavery by comparison :o

KentuckyFriedChildren · 09/01/2013 19:05

Oh and MrsR and LeBFG I've had 3 premmies and each one has been later than the last. Ds 32 wks, dd1 34, dd2 35. Hopefully yours do the same Smile

PurplePidjin · 09/01/2013 20:29

I've got two mio wraps in small, and can spare a few cottonbottoms prefolds in small and medium. Pm me your address and I'll pass along my MN RAOK. If you link me your fb i can add you to some fluffy groups too

OP posts:
PurplePidjin · 09/01/2013 20:32

PS I'm also the only sling wearer in the villArge, but have found one other fluffy mum. Still managed to talk my children's centre into hosting a nappycino and slingmeet though

Gutted for you KFC. Not good. Angry How did she get on at clinic?

That's brilliant PP, are you going to advertise it locally too and see how it all goes? Its quite community orientated round here, in the cafe that they have but its more towards well being. Indian head massages and reflexology £10 an hour Grin might have to treat myself.

I'm starting Baby Massage on Friday so can check out other babies for fluff. They all think I'm a bit weird round here anyway and don't get why I bother with washable things when its just more work Hmm and look at me funny because of how I dress and that I don't want the kids wearing ADIDAS track suits.

I'm not a fan of the Stokkes, they remind me of office chairs and cost a grand from what I've seen. Is it vair naice where you are?

I love the term lentil weaver Grin they were called crusties when I was a teen. How pleasant!!

PurplePidjin · 09/01/2013 22:05

I'm meeting up with my area's Nappy Lady on Friday, I'm going to promote her library and products for a percentage of sales. Easier than starting from scratch, she's got the infrastructure, I've got the contacts. Slings will be my friend who's a proper consultant :)

First time i went to bf group, there were 8 babies and 7 maxi cosi pebble car seats Hmm Poor ds is doomed, doomed i tell you

OP posts:
MrsReiver · 09/01/2013 22:17

Ooh now I'm wondering who your babywearing consultant friend is and if I know them. I'm intrigued Grin

PurplePidjin · 09/01/2013 23:05

My location (approximate) is on my profile which will give you a clue. I'm more westerly than the obvious, though - meet is this Friday afternoon...

KentuckyFriedChildren · 10/01/2013 01:47

Pidj I dont have facebook I just use dh's when I want something off the local pages but he wont want his news feed clogged up with nappy chat lol. I will pm you Thanks

NappyHappy where we live is in the middle of nowhere but the nearest village (about 3 miles away) is vair posh full of yummies and their ridiculous chelsea tractors Half of them live right next to the school and still drive when it would take all of 5 mins to walk. In our "village" (which is actually just a few houses/farms) it is more cottagy type houses with real fires and cows. Our house is probably one of the bigger ones as its newer. I want to get some chickens but I'm a bit concerned that the dog would try and eat them like she does with my neighbours cats.

Dd2 is getting on really well with her clubfoot. She's on her 4th cast and the consultant is happy with the progress. They say probably another 3 casts then an op to loosen the tendon and the a couple more casts while it heals and then boots on a bar until she's around 1 when she can start having them only at night. There is a bit of concern about the bones in her foot but hopefully they can correct it and there shouldn't be too much lasting damage.

We're in the process of bonfiring a shit load of stuff from our "spare" room (it's not really spare but ds and dd1 have been sharing for the last couple years cos they prefer it) so that we can re-decorate it for ds. I am hoping he will cope ok with the change. He's quite excited at the moment but he has aspergers and so he might end up getting upset when it's time to move rooms. We have 4 bedrooms but one of them is my workroom so the girls will share once dd2 is old enough and I can bear to part with her I'm not working atm cos tbh I cant be arsed :o but I will get back to it soon enough. I'm kinda missing my sewing machine so I might start doing some stuff for fun. Perhaps some new quilts for the kids Smile

PurplePidjin · 10/01/2013 05:01

I have them all set to No Notifications Wink it's worth it just to boggle at some of the prices tbh!

OP posts:
LeBFG · 10/01/2013 08:23

ridiculous chelsea tractors Grin Grin. Luuurvely!

Our dog was a rehomer and chased cats relentlessly (he's half spaniel). He's tried to 'mouth' the ducks a bit but dogs are in general pretty trainable. Young labs are the worst with poultry ime. How trainable is yours KFC?

I'm 31 weeks today so getting close to DS' gestation. I have a scan/consultation afternoon on the 21st. I'm just looking to reach that. So far, no symptoms of imminent birth but that was the same for DS so... She is moving around still - breech then head down, much more mobile than DS was. Fx for us both MrsR Smile.

Alva are going to send on another nappy Hmm. Hopefully, they'll keep their word and DS will have his tiger print. Pidj, sounds really great what you're doing. Best of luck with it.

KentuckyFriedChildren · 10/01/2013 09:47

She is trained mostly but she's a bit thick, bless her, and forgets her training when she gets excited. Of course it doesnt help that dh thinks she is his baby and all she has to do is the eyes-and-sideways-head routine and he's putty. He calls me her mummy Hmm :o She's coming into season and keeps barking (usually at her own reflection in the window) and generally being a bit hormonal plus she keeps trying to hump dh's legs. She sure loves her 'daddy' She's a staffy x lab, mostly staffy, and chews everything and has a penchant for lightning mcqueen and socks. Ds got one of those inflatable flip out sofa things for xmas with LmcQ on it and she's decided its her bed. She keeps stealing his LmcQ soft toy too :o

NappyHappy · 10/01/2013 10:14

KFC, dh's dig is a staffie/jack cross and a complete tool. She pukes all over the kitchen floor and when let in the front room when the kids aren't there she drags her backside akk over the carpets and pisses everywhere. Then when I let her out she runs off. I'm not chasing her anymore I've had enough of her. Then there us the constant barking and howling and scratching the door. DH will not be rid of her. I can't stand the thing.

Chelsea Tractors. Wink brilliant, no need for them dude! Some of the kids at ds's school get driven there when they live less than 10 mins away, why can't the walk? I love walking.

That's good news about dd, does she have colored casts?

I ordered my sewing machine last night from that lunk you sent me bfg, should be here Monday. Put it on my Cc but will smash my money jar open and pay it straight off. Trying to pay my debts off before ml finishes. Nearly done Grin

That sounds like a great plan pp, money for her, money for you, Win win!!

Are they all Maxi Cosi's round where you live? The pram of choice round here is the Leebruss and Senator. Huge things.

How is dp doing?

KentuckyFriedChildren · 10/01/2013 10:31

I love walking too, in fact we walk to school every day (plus the nearest bus to town is in the village by the school and I cant drive) so including the walking round the house/walking dog etc I probably cover about 20 odd miles a day. The yummies all think I'm daft. I dont care :o

See I wouldnt put up with a dog that was pissing everywhere Shock That's rank. Ours is lovely apart from the idiocy and I cant cope with the barking since she doesnt wake the kids and the neighbours cant hear her anyway. She doesnt do it if the lights are off so once we're in bed she's quiet.

I went to a baby and toddler group yday in the village and the other mums with tinies were all Shock when I turned up sans carseat :o I'm using a Petunia Pickle Bottom soujourn sling atm (soooo pretty) and they were like 'where will you put her' and I said I would hold her. The looks on their faces. I wont be going back to the catsbumface society group :o They clearly think I'm a loon!

KentuckyFriedChildren · 10/01/2013 10:33

i can cope Hmm

MrsReiver · 10/01/2013 11:02

10 minutes away? That's miles, no wonder the poor sods drive. I live less than 3 minutes walk from the school, there is a mum who lives closer than me who drops her kids off in her car every single morning. Initially I though she must be going on to work, but no - she turns around and drives home. It must take her longer to get the kids strapped in and pull out of her street (v busy junction) than it would to walk.

The parents round here already think I'm bonkers because DH and I don't go to the pub every weekend, and DS does judo and gymnastics (which is for girls natch Hmm) instead of football. I can't wait to see their reactions when I rock up to school with the baby in my storch! Especially if it's a boy, because the wrap I've got is rather PINK!

NappyHappy · 10/01/2013 11:39

We're going against the grain! Ha! We are the anti clique Grin

Luckily I've a carpet cleaner and dehumidifier so it can be cleaned and dry in a couple of hours. Like I've not got enough to do without cleaning up after shitedog. Angry

I'll be using my Lifft on Friday when I go to baby massage. Buggy walking there then ds3 in sling whilst me and ds2 walk to the class. You park your prams in the porch area then walk through the centre.

PurplePidjin · 10/01/2013 14:40

I think it was only me that noticed the matching car seats, there is now another mum who walks with a pram so we walk home together :) they're all just curious about the slings and cloth, it's just a different decision round here iyswim

Envy of all the lovely slings. I have my black VSL stretchy and a pale blue/cream wahm mt that i got for 99p on fleabay. ISO a ssc with buckles for dp and a several pretty woven for me. I'll probably make myself a mt when i get time, mine has very short straps and no padding or hood.

DP is coming on rapidly. Signed off work till March and we've decided that we'll cope on savings/benefits plus him doing short term contracts for a year or so - he's doing a 1 day software install next week for more than i could earn in a week! It'll ne tight but manageable :)

I'm back at youth club tonight, equally dreading it and really excited to see all the kids!

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 10/01/2013 19:00

Fingers crossed for you pp for tonight.

That sounds like a plan, and that sounds like a mahoosive install.

Can you get hold of mt patterned easy enough?

MrsReiver · 10/01/2013 19:31

Make Baby Stuff has lots of lovely patterns including a MT pattern. There's a page of nappy and wipe ideas too. I've had the woolie longies tute bookmarked for aaaaaaages. I wonder if I'll ever get round to making them Grin

Pidj, have a fab time at youth club tonight, I'm sure the kids will be just as chuffed to see you!
