They're the same people AFAIK.

Yay for Mums. Helping us out since birth!!

PurplePidjin · 07/01/2013 19:42

I'm about to checkout some half price RealEasies on babykind.co.uk :o

Just hoping fb will come up with a discount code...

Those flowery ones at the bottom of the page are delicious! Not really suitable for a boy, then again said boy is in a pink baby gro.

As machine is fucked, I figured I best get the girl stuff out in case. Already in the girl stuff as disposables have leaked poo three times in the last hour! This is with instant changing! My mum will think I am taking the piss! He seems to be saving all his poo until early evening. No doubt he thinks he is being helpful. Oh yes, and he vommed too.

And DH failed his sodding driving test Sad

We like the fluffy spots, i was given one and it's consistently top of the pile

My mum's convinced on cloth since i spent one night with them in the middle of all the palaver last week and he got wee all over her bed - from Pampers! That and she's as susceptible to cool clothing as me :o

Angelfold prefolds are fab for us, the RealEasies are to go with my Easyfits to be day nappies with the two parters over night (dp will learn once he gets his dexterity back and isn't needing his sleep as much!) so I'll have teeny fluff to pass on soon. Most was pl to me so won't make much, but it'll help.

Angry Grr @ driving examiners!

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 07/01/2013 21:50

I love easy fits too. Ds2 wears them in the day. Cosmos print ones, EBay bargain!!

How is dp doing pp? Are you both getting used to everything that's gone on lately?

Just updated MFP after 3weeks of not using it!!

Is J better now VQ?

PurplePidjin · 07/01/2013 23:06

Struggled over the weekend - he gets tired extremely quickly and is used to dashing around being busy - but we've likened it to having a broken rib, and he's getting used to his limits and lots of resting up. He still has to do some stuff but not immediately and not if he's too tired :)

I'm finding it tough with no respite, but it's definitely temporary. They reckon he'll be back where he was in a year.

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 08/01/2013 10:10

A year sounds good. The good thing is too you both sound positive about things and not wanting to rush. Also dp gets to see the important developmental stuff R will be doing. Will yours and dps parents come over and help?

Did you get your fluff? My, well babies Angry Birds nappy arrived yesterday.

PurplePidjin · 08/01/2013 14:08

Mine are local, dp's aren't - we were staying with them when it happened.

Fluff on it's way now i need to sort the For Sale pile! Anyone want dibs on GUC nb fluff? Wink

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 08/01/2013 14:16

Fluff parcels always make me smile. Got a rainbow fleece wrap coming soon too. Need to post the ones I sold tomorrow. I've been walking outdoors everyday now, don't care if its raining either!

I've made a washing fail. I washed the cheeky wipes with the fluff and all the inserts have gone turquoise!! Hmm

BiscuitCrumbsInBed · 08/01/2013 17:25

Uh oh nappyhappy - have you got some colour run remover? Think it's by dylon but not sure - should do the trick. Joe do you Luke the cheeky wipes, I love them - just gave a Cheeky Wipes kit to pg SIL for Christmas (she asked for it on our recommendation!)

PP so glad to hear you sounding positive, as NH says it will be great for your DP to be around R. Does he have sick pay / benefits? How long are you on mat leave for? Hope this doesn't mean you have to go back sooner than planned.

I've had to order some Real Easies I couldn't resist the offer - in my quest to find an AIO my DD won't outpee in under 2 hours. I've just put 2 bamboo boosters in a miosolo to try out tomorrow. I've been using an LL bamboo booster folded double in those & my 2 cheapies and it only lasts 2 hrs. What does everyone else use in their pockets? Any other booster ideas?

BiscuitCrumbsInBed · 08/01/2013 17:38

Ps loads of offers on Clean Grean Nappy Machine website at the mo! Inc motherease wraps for about £7 and cheap bummis and blueberry wraps too. Tempted to try a blueberry AIO...

PurplePidjin · 08/01/2013 17:46

I'm back on Thursday but only work 4 hours a week i got made redundant a few weeks before i got pg. SSP only for dp cunts need to get to CAB to see what help we can get.

I use small prefolds in my cheapie pockets, or an extra hemp booster is apparently good in a RealEasy (I've not needed to try yet though)

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 08/01/2013 19:15

Ooooh, I've a Bummi I love it. No leaks. Thank you Biscuit!!

PP, when dh was off after one of his many bowel ops Angry I was on ML and we got an increase in Tax Credits and the full amount of Housing and Council Tax benefit. It was only needed for a few months and when he returned back to work they made the last payment the month after he got a full pay. Unfortunately as he was getting SSP and still employed we didn't get a big increase in Tax Credits but we got by. Going to hospital on the bus in the middle of Summer 8months pg with ds1 in tow and (you can lol at this) an old lady shopping trolley with his clean clothes in Grin

Hopefully you'll get enough to manage. At least you're saving on nappies!! Look into Income Support/Child Tax Credit too, not sure what the earning threshold is for those.

We are experts in poo from that experience!! Shock

Are you looking forward to going back to work in a way?

Biscuit, its only the inserts that are dyed so I'm going to leave them, its an improvement on the grey tinge! Wink

In the day ds1 has an insert and a ll bamboo booster shoved in the easy fit and ds2 has the same. Prob get about 3 hours ish.

PurplePidjin · 08/01/2013 20:08

Cotton Bottoms are now Bummis, right? Only I've got shitloads of CB's i bought in a random bundle...

Wtc is calculated on last tax year so won't make much difference. I thought ctc was for childcare? Not sure on housing as I own, might get the interest paid for a bit though... I really don't want to claim jsa again, twats Angry

I love my teens, but not sure how i feel at leaving ds - and now dp - for so long Confused luckily i have a tonne of AL to take so am working alternate weeks this term!

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 08/01/2013 20:30

I didn't know they had changed names!

If they are med/lge tag me in a pic yo. Always need wraps Grin

CTC is based on income I think. You might have to look on Direct.gov Always worth ringing the Tax Credits and explaining the situation.

Hmmm, could your mortgage provider give you a payment break maybe or check any insurance you have on the repayments?

Even though it'll be great to get back to work its still going to be a bit meh leaving the chaps Sad Arghh!!

I've just got an email from my boss asking if I'm going back.

PurplePidjin · 08/01/2013 20:36

I have 4-10, 7-11 + 8-15 lb sizes in plain white excellent condition. Mmao or swap several for something funky?

OP posts:
NappyHappy · 08/01/2013 21:22

He's rocking the Buddha look. T'would need next size up. Are you gonna EBay and FB them?

MrsReiver · 08/01/2013 21:39

How much money are you lot willing to put on the rest of my fluffy post arriving while we're at our scan and ante natal clinic tomorrow?

Bloody law of sod.

BiscuitCrumbsInBed · 08/01/2013 21:59

Sorry Pidj, I didn't mean to be rude/nosy about your financial circs - I was just hoping that you wouldn't have be away from R sooner than you were comfortable with, didn't mean to pry. Good luck for Thursday, I expect you will spend the whole time worrying and everything will be absolutely fine! Grin

VQ all the best drivers fail at least 4 times Blush that is mighty annoying though - as is the washing machine going bust - argh! What a pain in the arse. How's J's chest? Is he sleeping any better?

Nappyhappy the blue boosters sound rather nice!

Does anyone know if hemp is more absorbent than bamboo? And has anyone got one of the nappy lady's mega huge night boosters? I think I remember BFG mentioning them a while back but might be wrong. Still on sposies at night, planning to give a boosted bumble or maybe a real easy (depending on how I get on with them) a go but I do fear it's doomed to failure. NH what do you use on your DS2 at night?

MrsR which of your fluffy parcels have arrived, what's in the stash so far?! Is your Dc1 still in nappies (sorry cant remember) or will you have to wait til the new one arrives to try them out...

Have just realised, like a numpty, that I could actually sell some of my miosolos to fund further nappy experiments. Doh! Off to spend money I haven't yet earned... Maybe I will try a bamboo fitted...? Hmmmm.... What next....

PurplePidjin · 08/01/2013 22:07

It's something i need to get straight in my head. The plan was to get ds and subsequent sibling(s) to school before i went back to work - i did 7 years in social care then 3 months in lettings then redundant then pg so not exactly a high flying career to abandon - keeping my current youth work plus any more that came along so I've got current experience and references. Major reevaluation is on the cards imminently. I'm setting up a branch of my area nappy library and have had interest in my crochet hats and bootees so am building on that immediately, will worry about the mortgage in a month or two when i have to hit my savings!

OP posts:
MrsReiver · 08/01/2013 22:14

I need to wait for the baby to arrive first, DS1 is 8 Smile The stash is tiny at the mo, couple of Baba and Boos and a Mama Knows Best. There's some little lambs bamboo, blueberry wraps, a ones and twos and a tots bots easyfit(chosen by DS so it's the superhero one) on the way.

Pidj, is your local CAB handy to you? Might be worth a pop in to get some advice. CTC aren't just for childcare, there is an extra element to it for that though. Again, it could be worth giving them a ring.

NappyHappy · 08/01/2013 22:33

Bloody hell Mrs! That is a package! Course it'll turn up when you're out.

Using TB Bamboozles, think they are the version before this one so are well loved. With an insert over the top and between the wrap. Any wrap over the top, the TB ones don't leak on him. phew!

Currently got ds2 poking me in the belly button whilst watching Ben and holly. Thanks!

MrsReiver · 08/01/2013 22:46

It looks awful written down like that [shocked] Mum gave me some Christmas money and is totally bemused that I spent it on nappies! I have some very naughty enabling friends though.

PurplePidjin · 08/01/2013 22:53

Yes, just awaiting a conjunction of dp's energy levels and their opening hours...

OP posts:
MrsReiver · 08/01/2013 22:57

Doh! I've just noticed you mentioned CAB earlier. Sorry.
