Carpets dried in 2 hours!! wtf?! When the boys are past their falling over, throwing each other stages I'll save up for laminate.

When the new wraps come I'll let you know if they do the job, they're Nature Babies. Let's hope you break even or make more when you sell them Smile They're selling make your own wrap kits on EBay too for £9 inc post.

With subsequent babies the head sometimes goes down later on. I think I was about 37-38 weeks with not so new boy (now 4m nearly!!) and he wasn't engaged. He really dropped one day and I thought my guts were going to drop out of my Fanj then he'd moved back up again. What sex is the baby? I know (I think) you've said but Ive forgot.

I hate that rod for your own back thing too. Obviously whoever came up with it has perfect children . Its nothing that can't be changed at a later time anyway and would take about a week or so.

Whats your friends company called again MrsR? Grin

MrsReiver · 04/01/2013 14:32

Ah that would "out" me, and I don't want anyone thinking I'm on here to advertise her Grin

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 04/01/2013 14:46

Love love love both my Easyfits and a NB wrap my mum got in a charity shop for £1.50. Not so keen on their pockets they dig in his tummy so are in my To Sell bag. I also have a few girlie cheapies if anyone wants them? I paid about £3 each iirc

My DSis had so many rod comments Hmm Hmm she says she should have called DS1 Rodney...

Head down as late as that NH?? I'm having a girl (after numpty gyno said it was a boy at 16w) and I'm variously hoping it's a good thing she's not head done (and about to engage - no!) and worried it might be a bad sign (will never engage and I'll need a CS). Arghh. Does your DS sleep well now at 4m? I recently read that bouncey babies when pregnant make for difficult sleepers. DD-to-be seems quieter than DS was .

MrsReiver · 04/01/2013 15:15

Can I tell you in about 7 weeks Pidj? Grin

DS was a very bouncy baby - I developed an irritable uterus and part of the reason (according to the consultant) was that he was so active and each movement was triggering my uterus to spasm. Anyway, he was a very, very sleepy baby, he still is!

ValiumQueen · 04/01/2013 18:37

Subsequent babies usually do not engage until labour.

NappyHappy · 04/01/2013 22:26

He is the only one who has slept properly and randomly nods off in the day through all the shouting and screaming. Settles about now til what I think is a reasonable hour to wake. DS1 is the worst sleeper out the lot and he's nearly 5!!

OK MrsR. Grin Prob a good thing as I'll only buy more.

Rodney. Brilliant. I made several rods with ds1. You've got to do whatever works for you and sod the antirods.

You sticking them on EBay pp?

LeBFG · 05/01/2013 07:09

Oh, MrsR Sad . Never mind. I'm banking on the fact the DD can't possibly be worse than DS (famous last words) Grin. I'm still waiting on the delivery of the baby insert for my Ergo - it's my secret sleep weapon!

Oh, yes, still waiting for a couple of Alvas to turn up. Just received some (ridicously expensive) bf tops which look like they'll do the job. - I'm sure I could have made them. The French (and some old farty expats) can be a bit awkward when you pull a boob out in public so to save their red faces I thought I would buy a few discrete tops. Not sure if I've had enough spending

MrsReiver · 05/01/2013 10:03

Sorry BFG Sad I'm pinning all my hopes on the fact people keep telling me second babies are more chilled out, DS loved his sleep, but when he was awake he was a right grouch. And he's just had a tantrum because I want to watch SuperGran on CITV. I can't have another one like that surely.....

NappyHappy · 05/01/2013 10:19

Another one here seconding that subsequent babies are easier. DS1 was I suppose a parenting practice run and he is to this day worse than the babies put together. Mum is picking him up in a couple of hours yay!

Yep. The anti rod club. I don't know anyone who had a baby rod that is still years later having to be fed/rocked to sleep, has a dummy or sleeps in with parents etc. It annoys me that people think that its not OK to pacify an upset baby or help them fall asleep with whatever means necessary. Its for our sanity as well as for the wellbeing of our children Wink

Mmmm internet shopping. Our friend Grin

Nappy wash day shortly and they can go outside!

I'm having a protein day today and grated my finger when grating some cheese for my smeggy eggs. Ouchy. Right on the knuckle.

BFG, do you have bump bands? You could wear one of those round your belly/waist area and hoik your top up and boob out.

LeBFG · 05/01/2013 11:45

That'll be more protein in the eggs then Grin.

After praising the internet shopping god, I'm now cursing him. I finally received the Alva nappies and they've sent a weird blue nappy instead of a tiger pattern. DS loved tigers Sad. I've emailed them to see what they can do, but I don't envisage sending it back. It's not free P&P for me.

Thanks for the band idea NH - I have one so good news I can put it to use after the birth.

MrsR. I'm right with you. DS was a grouch for 12 months and didn't sleep that well either. Surely lightening can't strike twice??! Fingers crossed for you too.

BiscuitCrumbsInBed · 05/01/2013 11:48

Like the new name nappyhappy! Enjoy your egg and finger sandwich yum yum Grin Oooh Mrs R a Dr Who nappy.. What will it look like? I really enjoyed the Christmas special, looking forward to the new series. I've never bought a custom nappy, I'm supposedly using fluff to save money and DH has recently developed an annoying habit of actually reading bank statements before I can shred them

BFG I hope you do get a good sleeper this time! Surely none of us deserves 2 sleepless wonders..? Grin at Happy's suggestion that DC1 is a trial run though, with parenting tactics refined over subsequent experiments children...

I'm currently in bed with horrible cold/cough lurgy, DH has taken baby biscuit swimming, only the third time she's ever been and he's never taken her on his own before. I'm a bit worried I hope it's all ok. Pfb I know! I'm supposed to be sleeping why am I not asleep??

NappyHappy · 05/01/2013 12:23

Yep. Its right in the crease on the little finger knuckle.

Me Cheeky Wipes and Catapult (yes, catapultGrin ) have arrived this morning. Still a tomboy after all this time.

I saw a Nightmare Before Christmas nappy but it was £27 so I left it.

You can't have 2 non sleepers. Ds2 was better than ds1 but is a light sleeper so I leave the radio on in his room for when I have to sneak in.

Ds3 nearly fills his Moses Basket Sad

MrsReiver · 05/01/2013 12:24

It's really dark blue with this TARDIS embroidery on the front. It was my Christmas pressie to myself Grin

I'm saving my belly bands (which I expanded out of loooooong ago) for that very reason, I don't want to inflict my wobbly belly on any one!

NappyHappy · 05/01/2013 20:34

You ledge. Grin so glad its not just me that does stuff like that.

That is a cute bit o fluff too.

My mum has one of those cats. It is very realistic though.

ValiumQueen · 07/01/2013 12:57

Washer broken. On disposables for time being Sad

NappyHappy · 07/01/2013 14:20

No way! Feckin washers. Can you claim on the insurance? That was the cause of our house fire 2 years ago.

ValiumQueen · 07/01/2013 14:28

It is 8yo and we have been buying the insurance cover, but stopped in Nov as it was almost £100 for the year. We decided we were better putting the money towards a new one. We were hoping it would last a bit longer, but I am most glad it leaked rather than caught fire. I was washing nappies at the time.

NappyHappy · 07/01/2013 14:39

Feck. You have nice neighbours you could do your washing at til you get a new one?

LeBFG · 07/01/2013 14:47

Bloody washing machines! When you buy a new one, will you go for an expensive one or a run-of-the-mill? I'd like to hear your reasoniong cos I hate mine (if you can hate an inanimate object Grin) and I'm always torn between good quality/hope it lasts and basic model/cheap to replace.

NappyHappy · 07/01/2013 16:39

Our replacement is a mid range one and gets used a lot. It was under £200 and is a Hot point Aquarius WML 720. I love it. Loads of wash options including a baby cycle.

The one that set fire was a Hot point too but it happens and it hasn't put me off the brand.

Fucking things.

ValiumQueen · 07/01/2013 18:10

I like indesit. Hot point is good - I thought they were more pricy? I hope to spend no more than £200

Thankfully mum has offered, and lives nearby.
