Alvas and Babyland are £4 something. Ditto Pixiepants :)

Fingers crossed for sleep tonight...

Notgrownupinmyhead · 17/12/2012 22:16

Fingers and bumcheeks crossed for you pp! He's soo cute! Smile

He's 4 going on 40 biscuit. We get a constant running commentary real time with him all day everyday. Bless him, he hurts my head!

I shall look at the Pixies and Bum Deal on Ebay. Ive just listed 2 Soap and Glory gift sets so will be constantly checking!! Im very sad like that.

Took ds2 to the Drs about the headbanging and rocking today so have referred him to the Paed just to double check. He is the worst sleeper out the 3!!

ValiumQueen · 17/12/2012 22:17

Thanks all. I think bum deal sell alva nappies under a different name, marked up and charge a lot postage. Nice wet bags though.

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 18/12/2012 04:00

5 hours :o although my back hurts as it was on my chest...

Notgrownupinmyhead · 18/12/2012 14:02

5hours?! Excellent!!!!!!

LeBFG · 18/12/2012 14:16

The first time I slept through 5 hours (I remember it well) was when DS was 3.5mo. I'd almost given up bf through exhaustion...but that sleep made all the difference to my morale. You should be proud of little Pidjchick. What a good baby (came with the instruction manuel I see).

Just received my moses basket. Yeaaah. DS looks at it suspiciously, especially when I tell him his sister will sleep there. He won't put any teddy in it either!

Get well soon to all the ill people. Sending you some Thanks

BiscuitCrumbsInBed · 18/12/2012 14:21

VQ that's mighty cheeky of them! Huh forget that. just having a look at pixie pants on fb now.

Notgrownup - found you! Xmas Grin

Pp good for you, 5 hrs! Dd used to sleep on my chest all the time, I got v good at constructing barricades of pillows round us so I could sleep too - leaving about 2 inches of bed for dh, oops.

BiscuitCrumbsInBed · 18/12/2012 14:25

Ps been meaning to share, dd loves putting nappies on her toys and its so cute! She gets down the miosolos (usually a pink one) spreads it out carefully, says 'nappy! Lie down!' to the toy, gets a wipe, wipes its bottom and then tries to do the nappy up! I usually have to help with that bit Xmas Smile - and then, she shouts 'poo' and rips the nappy straight back off. It's hilarious. Soon she'll be able to change herself!

Notgrownupinmyhead · 18/12/2012 14:37

Fnar biscuit. I thought who's that? Then I remembered. I am a spanner Wink

A friend text this morning, her fam have just got over Noro, were free for 2/3 days and its come back with a vengeance. What a mare!

Bum deal could bankrupt me. Niiiice nappies!!!

Ill take some pics of ds1s fluffed up, swaddled tedds. So cute.

Just tried boy3 in the Lifft and its either too small or Im not doing it right. But its very good on my back.

Whooyah for Moses basket BFG!! You enjoying the bump time still ??

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 18/12/2012 16:01

Aww, bless, makes me almost wish PidChick was at that stage lies all lies

I might be starting a nappy library Xmas Blush

LeBFG · 18/12/2012 17:20

I forgot to thank you Pidi for the insert tip. Currently bidding on an ebay one. Hope this solves DH's sling problem. If not, it gives me more options as I didn't find the moby great all the time tbh. I love how the new inserts support the hips and head of the newbie too.

Currently loving bump time. And Xmas. We're hosting for the first time ever - very grown up. DH will have to do most of the prep. I'll cook some of our own guinea fowl - yumm. Much better than turkey.

Made huge long list for bags (still not packed yet Xmas Angry) and did some buying today. I've packed the essentials (chocolate biscuits and hair bands) but no fluff in hospital Xmas Sad too complicated to arrange as I've be locked in for over 4 days. Any other essential things?

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 18/12/2012 17:34

They're only about £15 on the Ergo website Xmas Wink

Yum, home-reared guinea fowl Xmas Envy

I love my stretchy, but the mei tai is definitely easier to get on. Stretchy is more supportive so i use that if he'll be out in it, mei tai round the house for now. Looking into SSCs for dp to take him out for Forest walks in though, he's slowly coming round to the idea of ties over clips now he's seen the MT in rl...

Essentials for me: pants, comfy trousers, light cardi, vest tops, fluffy socks. Lucozade for labour, keep the bottle and top up with water after. Snacks so you're not starving when reliant on set hospital meal times. Some way of keeping the brain active while stuck lying around - book, smart phone (+ charger!) etc. Hairbrush, teatree oil, toothbrush+paste, deodorant.

For baby: 2 vests, 2 sleepsuits, hat, bootees, scratch mitts, nappies (my hospital specified sposies), cotton wool.

LeBFG · 18/12/2012 18:44

Thanks for the tip - in fact they're cheaper on the french website than the UK. Bonus!

I've bought some energy drinks (yes, already). I'm thinking about taking in my kindle - I remember the boredom from last time (10 days!). Good point about the charger...What about a nightgown? From memory, I was really hot! Perhaps a light one...oh the choices. I'm thinking about taking in a photo of DS to help me through labour - weird idea??! I'm going to buy some squeezy balls from the market tommorow too.

I have a lovely pile of prefolds I can't wait to use!

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 18/12/2012 19:15

Ooh, are ergos also cheaper in euros?

I hate nighties so lived still do if i can get away with it in fleece jammie bottoms, vest and cardi. But it's whatever you feel comfortable in. I had 4 bags - small rucksack with stuff for labour like tens machine, nappy bag with baby stuff, bag of food, and big holdall for all the stuff i might want after.

Prefolds rubbed his stump and made it bleed, they were also too much faff in the middle of the night so we went to pockets and use the prefolds to stuff. Maybe angel folding with a 3 day old was a little ambitious Xmas Wink

Notgrownupinmyhead · 18/12/2012 20:02

Loads of knickers - dark ones and dark pants. I bled everywhere, i could feel it running down my leg as soon as i stood up ( this was about an hour or so after).

The pic is a great idea, you could concentrate on him whilst your having contractions and breathing. Shock I dont know what you'd call it but i focused on deep breaths in and deep breaths out but it helped.

Small portable or paper fan? Wigan hospital is the hottest hospital I have ever been in christ on a bike it was awful.

How do you start a Nappy Library PP? Its a great idea.

Notgrownupinmyhead · 18/12/2012 20:03

I live in my jamas too and only get dressed if I have to leave the house then put them back on as soon as i get home Smile

BiscuitCrumbsInBed · 18/12/2012 20:11

Hi BFG, glad you and bump are ok. Good on you cooking Xmas lunch and your own birds too, wow, do have other animals too?

I remember being really hot inhospital so would say take nightie, thin cardi and dressing gown - mind you it was august! Definitely lots of snacks. Slippers and / or flip flops. I threw up throughout labour (24 hours) and lived on lucozade energy tablets. Will you def be 4 days even if it's all straightforward?

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 18/12/2012 20:29

I don't know, I'm still figuring it out! Will probably piggyback onto the one in a nearby city - they technically cover my area but are only sporadically active 20-30 miles away. I've got my children's centre and bfing group interested, so have a venue and time to do a regular nappycino, just need nappies and advertising Xmas Smile

Ritz crackers, cuppa soup and instant porridge were my best food packs. Lots of fresh and dried fruit to help the First Poo!

ValiumQueen · 18/12/2012 22:49

I also live in pjs and have been known to do the school run in them. They are black though. When one tit is out constantly it is pointless wearing anything else. And the chance to get dressed would be nice.

I put a prefold in a pocket today. I felt it was very stiff and bulky but worked well. I may yet be convinced.

LeBFG · 19/12/2012 17:48

Agree, can't get on with nighties. Just not sure I'll fit into PJs in the days after birth Xmas Shock. Dried fruit, not thought of that. The average stay in hosptial is 4 days, longer for c-sections Xmas Hmm. If I go to term I may have to self-discharge . On the upside, they provide great big pants like shorts with huge pads - great for that first night or two. After that, I've my own (sposie) pads Xmas Grin.

Toddler squealing/moaning a lot today - grrr. Doin my head in.

Strangely, the carriers are more in euros - how weird.

BiscuitCrumbsInBed · 19/12/2012 22:05

Just ordered my first pretty cheapie pockets from Pixie Pants on Facebook! And a medium wet bag so if it gets here by Monday I may take real nappies to the inlaws after all. So excited to get the nappies! One minky with birds on and a pul with owls. Er so both birds then. But they look so pretty... And £14 for 2 nappies and a wet bag... It's a slippery slope, I blame you lot if I get addicted Xmas Grin meanwhile, dh is still at work earning the cash to pay for them, oh dear Xmas Sad

ValiumQueen · 19/12/2012 22:24

What are peoples thoughts of the bum deals custom nappies with the tails and ears, or the ruffles? They look like alva nappies with bits sewn on by a toddler

Notgrownupinmyhead · 20/12/2012 00:00

Ha ha biscuit I saw that.

Valium, i like the ones with tails on but I dont like ruffles and girly things so those ones aren't for me.

I wouldn't wear my onesie for the school run though. Its giraffe with a tail. Blush I wear my dark jama pants to school.

Bfg, like Tena pants for women?

PurplePidjChickIsNotTheMessiah · 20/12/2012 08:41

Cute but what's the point. Surely there are so few days where it's warm enough for just a nappy that it'd never get worn?
