Fantastic 40+ Mums

Mum of 2, DS1 nearly 4yo and DD2 almost 11 weeks. I hope to find here advices from experienced mums so that I can avoid mistakes... I made some with DS1 and my life sometimes is hell, it is hard to unlearn wrong behaviour, so hard.
At the time being, DD2 is a very sweet baby, she is easy to decipher, cries are always related to some kind of discomfort and I managed to learn what they mean, or almost. Only one issue with her ATM is that she rejects bottle feeding even with expressed milk. I'd like to be able to escape a bit from the house to get a haircut or a facial. And I am sure DH would like to feed her sometimes too.
I struggle a bit more with DS1, who is usually a good boy, energetic, happy and loving. But after school, getting him to take his bath is a battle and falling and staying asleep all night are big issues. The problems did exist before but now with the recent arrival of his sister, the intensity has increased. Or maybe they are the same but to me they seem bigger and need to be addressed quickly so that I can look after both without raising my voice.
All advice are welcome. I need help here.

Also I'd like to invite all the graduates from the Fantastic 40+ Mums to be thread to join. You have been truly fantastic and so supportive during my pg. I hope to be able to keep on sharing with you this wonderful parenting adventure.

If the door handle is reflective then they are very interesting indeed. DD2 used to go potty when she saw a coke can for some reason (without consuming contents obviously) DS particularly likes the bright baskets next to his changing mat.

DS is not too bad today. Vomited this morning, but that was daddy's fault. It told him to keep him upright when I did the school run... DS slept from 11-4 last night so he is an absolute star. I am hoping things will continue like this. I feel more tired for having slept. Often the case. He is now 11lb 7oz which is pretty good at nearly 7 weeks.

BadMissM · 12/12/2012 12:04

goat just moved too, not through choice, Landlord selling house. My amazing friends helped move everything, but is still chaos!

blueblackdye Argh, now frustrating! Am up 31 Dec and 14 Jan!!!Booked Harmony Test so am coming to London for it....

Hello all, sorry been AWOL. Christmas all ready getting a bit manic and master midge on a growth spurt so caning my poor nips (I actually have love bites on one - ouch and WTAF?

VQ so glad J is on the mend, you really have been through it lately. Hope DP I'd being less of a nobber and no bed wetting!

LRM you on that cross trainer yet. 5 hours sleep you bloody well should be. Envy

seaside hope the painful farting passes. If that happened to Midge we'd be in trouble as he farts all the time. Takes after his mother father.

goat Grin at your little olympic wrestler. My dd was a toddler so master midge seems like a fat giant to me!

Hp I meant I could meet this Friday, I am a bit dense. I can't do next Friday as dd is having a Christmas party so will be on über mummy duties. Sad

Waves at miss m, who is not me with a name change. Best go, been for jabs today and MM is not a happy chap. Sad loving maternity leave though but need to curb my shopping habit.

blueblackdye · 12/12/2012 13:59

Midget, do you want to go for a coffee this Friday, 14 ? I'll PM you as well.
BadMissM, Well done on the Harmony test, Could try to organise something on Jan 14 if you are free t some point.
Hope every one is OK.
Went to get Red Book for Anastasia yesterday, jabs are on the same calendar in France and here, except she has not had Men C, so had her first Men C jab yesterday, poor thing. She now weighs 6.62 kg, 50th centile, 65cm, I can't believe that on 20week scan, they found her a bit small and put me under amnio stress, oh well she is thriving and growing so I am not complaining anymore.
ATM going through her brother's clothing, keeping whatever can be reused for her, giving some to my cleaner, rest goes to charity. So much stuff !

Goatbongohohoandjinglejingle · 12/12/2012 18:34

Oh sorry, seaside, didn't think you were being reproving - I guess I am still more touchy about the whole thing than I realised! And to top it all, solicitor rang this morning saying they needed the deed of transfer sent back. Er, says I, I don't have it. No, we are sending it now, and you must return it immediately. Ahahahaha! Immediately is not really a word in my vocab since the arrival of BG, unless it involves feeding. Still, it is now gone and all I have to do is hand over keys tomorrow. Xmas Smile
Ooh bbd I could meet this Friday if you are meeting up, is actually better for me than next week.
That door handle was amazing. It obviously disagreed with BG at one point, as he got quite cross. But then it redeemed itself by telling a very funny joke - BG laughed for ages.
lrm 5 hours, wow... not jealous at all

blueblackdye · 12/12/2012 18:41

Well, this Friday it is then ! Central London seems to be themostconvenient. 10.30/11 am House of Fraser, coffee shop on 5th floor ?
Goat, bravo for the sale
LRM enjoy long sleeps
On my own tonight, DS not eating, restless Anastasia, it will be a long evening !
Xxxx

BBD I will be free at some point....late afternoon or so!

littleredmonkey · 13/12/2012 07:10

Well the evening I had was exhausting. Started ok dp did bottle at 10. He then did a massive crap in his nappy woke up scteaming. Hard to settle. Sleep then leaky nappy. Then screaming. He is a sleep on me now looking peaceful I feel like crap and dizzy. Dp has had to go to work. So my lovely five hours sleep Tuesday was a one off. Everyone keeps saying by three months your baby will sleep for ages. I wish he would so tiring

blueblackdye · 13/12/2012 08:49

It is going to be a hectic day for me today. Lots to do outside the house so won't be able to be with you too much. Starting with school tour this morning in 30 minutes....
Do you know a nice place in Kings Cross for meeting up ? I can only think aout Hotel Renaissance, Hansom Lounge. What do you think ? If all good, meeting over there 11am tomorrow Friday ? LRM, yes I will send you a pic if Goat and Midget are ok, we can show off our zombie look !!!
Have to run now

Midgetm · 13/12/2012 09:42

We could go the waiting room in St. pancreas - posh and lovely or the betjemen arms - which I know is child friendly.

Midgetm · 13/12/2012 09:44

Sorry you had such a shit night LRM hope you are catching up on it now. Q

blueblackdye · 13/12/2012 12:09

LRM, you will get there, hold on, patience you will learn ! Baby D is still very young. Don't youwish you were in HKG ? With staff to deal with house chores so that you can only look after your baby and nap when he does ? That is my dream atm...
Iam back from 2 school tours, bought a xmas tree, feeding now and catching up. Re where to meet tomorrow, I ll let you choose ladies as I don't know st pancras kings cross area at all. As long as we can feed our babies without feeling cold, I am fine !

BadMissM · 13/12/2012 16:58

Have fun everyone!!!

bytheseaside · 13/12/2012 17:15

badmissm hi are you another Fab 40s mum? Sorry if i missed your story, im shockingly tired ...

bbd i need staff too

Goatbongohohoandjinglejingle · 13/12/2012 17:55

Ooh, let's do posh and lovely, please! We can either pretend we are still posh and lovely ourselves, even when accessorised with some fetching baby puke, or see how many other customers we can scare off with our zombie appearance.

bytheseaside · 13/12/2012 19:07

Ill be keeping up zombie standards on the home front. can't remember last time i was somewhere posh and lovely ...

blueblackdye · 13/12/2012 19:13

Ok, lets do posh, as lovely we all are already, she says when shouting at her DH Confused
can anyone tell me where the waiting room is, i can't find it on the statio map, need new glasses....

Goatbongohohoandjinglejingle · 13/12/2012 20:16

It's on York Way, next to Premier (or is it Holiday?) Inn.

Midgetm · 13/12/2012 21:48

Are we talking about the same place? Part of the hotel in the station, the bar is called the waiting room I think. Shall we all pm each others mobile numbers?

Midgetm · 13/12/2012 21:56

Messages goat and HP, let me know if I've got it all wrong. Wish you were all coming. Next time eh? MM still not asleep. Grrrrr.

blueblackdye · 13/12/2012 22:16

Midget, I have 26/30 york way, Premier Inn, the waiting room.
I will meet you and Goat there. If anyone else feels like joining us, you are most welcome.
Off to bed now.

eagleray · 13/12/2012 23:03

Evening - hope you have a lovely time meeting up tomorrow - gutted I can't come but hope you all have a great time!

Slight disaster with baby room tonight. The floor has been stripped and I have been spending the evenings staining the floor (wearing an industrial mask for the fumes). So far, so good, until tonight where I managed to tip the wood dye bottle over so there is now a very dark patch which will never match the rest of the wood, and worse still I have one arm and hand semi-permanently dyed a Dark Oak colour. Got some explaining to do tomorrow at hospital appt - not sure if I can pass it off as pregnancy-related pigmentation Blush

I guess I should just stop caring right now what my house looks like as this is going to be the first spillage of many. I guess at least baby sick washes out of most things...

Hope you all sleep well, and I will be there with you in spirit tomorrow gutted I can't play matching the person to the name
