I have changed my name but not sure why.
I have lots of children and although its hard and i get stressed its great amnd i love it and of course 'Them'

I just dont feel finished - I am 38 and have done this for a long time now but still would like more. Its what I do?

Anyone feel the same and had these feelings go away? Or will i go on having them until it stops?

Advice welcome!

have decided though that when the next one comes,im not bf.am bf dd at the mo,and its driving me mad!she just wont give up 'boobies'!!!(she shouts for boobies in shops and pulls my top,and im not going through this again!so told dh that the next one will be bottlefed and he will get up during the night as im up constantly with dd and he just snores through it!!also feel that because we found out dd had cf when she was only 6 weeks old, that took away alot of the excitement of having a new baby as it was constant physio and medicines from then onwards.so that might explain why i want more!

buffythenappyslayer · 20/03/2006 18:49

muma3,your not the only one,ds his dad was a sht and left me,dd her dad was a sht and i left him, moved in with his brother and had 3 kids with him!(we got married in 1995,divorced in 1997,married again in 2001 and are now vvvvv happy!!)also makes my kids cousins aswell as siblings!i dont care though, people can judge me,but my kids are happy and healthy(ish) and stuff anyone who doesnt like what ive done with my life!!!

muma3 · 20/03/2006 18:54

thanks buffy you dont know what that means to hear that. i dont know anyone else who is a similar situation and i feel guilty for feeling ashamed most of the time.
first time i was young and stupid , second he was young and stupid and now i couldnt be happier. we pretend that they are his even though they see there dads .

when i tell people though that i want another baby they think im a slapper or something . noone knows what really happens in these kind of relationships and it is the children that matter.

sorry for the hijack Blush

go for it Smile

lisalisa · 20/03/2006 22:16

I have 5 to and def want no more - its hard enough coping with what I've got and I feel as if I'm about to go mad most days - amazed that you stil want more but if so - - go for it....

brimfull · 20/03/2006 22:25

how do your older kids feel about it?

I think if the whole family thinks it's a good idea then why not.

Also think you should wait until the baby is older.

I am one of 7 kids. My mum stopped at age 32, so we are all close in age and still close to each other now (lots of arguing coz mostly sisters tho) one just above me is 1 1/2 yrs older and one just younger is 10 month gap .. we used to like to pretend to be twins.
Mum and dad worked full time through out our childhood .. mum wasn't affectionate, but dad did everything he possibly could when not working .. cooking, housework, parents evening, tucking us up in bed.
Go for it if you feel you can cope and will be able to give your children the best upbringing :)
Personally, i've stopped at 2.

blatentlyincognito · 21/03/2006 11:19

ggirl ...the 'bigs' all say they want more but its cos they worchip the three year old and enjoy five minutes a day with newborn but then they dont think of the bigger picture...

dp does shoulder the financial burden Blush
poor thing but then he is lucky to have me and all these lovely babes i serve him up! Wink

I have 9 children. 16years between eldest and youngest. Youngest is 2.5 born when I was 43y9m. I have had no health problems as a result of this. Just wanted you to know that more babies doesn't necessarily mean health problems.

Walnutshell · 21/03/2006 19:00

I'd love to have 4 but as am nearly 31 and only on 1 so far, will I fit them all in before I 'dry up'!!?

Also, am I romanticizing big families? Think it sounds lovely but hard work??

brimfull · 21/03/2006 19:53

wow juuule,9 kids!!!!!

the logistics boggles the mind!!

expatinscotland · 21/03/2006 19:54

after 2, it's definitely ended for me! especially as the baby is now sleeping through the night, i'm back in my size 10 jeans, and enjoying taking decongestants willy nilly during my last attack of sinusitis.

SenoraPostrophe · 21/03/2006 19:56

that was quick expat!

I'm stopping after this one too (my third). can't be doing with being pregnant again.

walnutshell: 1 every two years means you'll still be well under 40 for the forth. no probs!

expatinscotland · 21/03/2006 19:57

that being said, my gran has 7. her first at 16, with her first husband. her last at: FORTY-SEVEN! 'Change of life' baby, she called him. She thought her life was changing, and it certainly did. :)

even tho they all came from a large family, two of dad's brothers and sister had 3 kids, everyone else just had two.

milward · 21/03/2006 19:57

I'd love more - have 4 & would love another. Will have to cut down on bf to achieve this.

expatinscotland · 21/03/2006 20:02

pushing a double buggy uphill will do it every time, SP! :)

SenoraPostrophe · 21/03/2006 20:05

I thought that was my secret! But even so, that's fast.
