An ISA. Whacked all the money people gave her as a gift in it and sold some of my things on Ebay so I could give her another £100.

She got loads of toys from the grandparents and her aunts and uncle.

We were moving a fortnight after her 1st bday, so didn't need any more stuff. AND, it had taken me a year of hard work to get us into a better neighbourhood, so that was my other gift to her.

Like others, nothing!!! Afraid he got plenty from other family members and didn't have a clue. If we'd had some spare cash would have probably stuck some in his account but didn't do that either!!!

my dd is only 12wks ld and was born on Dec 21st. We have already asked grandparents and relatives to only buy her either a xmas or birthday present and for the other one put cash into her account.

As i have a very large family Me and Dp will put £200 into her trust fund until she is about 4 then we will buy her presents then.

I got dd a Winnie the Pooh ride on thing. She loves it and is still playing with it now and she's nearly 3.

WestCountryLass · 17/03/2006 21:19

DS had the ride on rocking Police Motorbike thingy, about £30, and DD had a bubble machine and a small tent for balls.

DS2 was one 2 weeks ago.
Gt him a photo frame, engraved with 'my first birthday' and put a picture of him in his party hat eating cake.

Aso got him a mega bocks pirate ship (£30)which has music and building bocs, and he loves it!

Got loads from family too...ike a massive bal pool which takes up his entire room.

Hulababy · 18/03/2006 17:35

We got DD a really good CD player for her first birthday. We knew she was getting lots of other toys and clothes as presents from family and friends. So we wanted to get her something different and that would get long term use, as she really didn't need anything for immediate use/ She is nearly 4 now and has her Cd player in her room and uses it almost daily. It has beena good buy.

Other presents she got for her first birthday was doll's pram, trike, dolls, etc.

mears · 18/03/2006 17:35

A push along toy to help her walk. A baby doll and MILKY BUTTONS! Mine all got milky buttons as their first taste of chocolate on their first birthday - they loved them Smile

TP Boat shaped sandpit. Still useful now with water or sand and all the sand toys store beautifully in it during winter.
