My DS is 3 in may, and just wondering what bedtime everyone thinks is suitable (he does have tv on in bed before going to sleep) to really, what is the best time for him to go to his bedroom for the night?

DS1 (3.9) & DS2 (0.7) both go up around 6.45-7ish, story for DS1, feed for DS2 and in bed for 7-7.15. Has been this was since DS1 was 8 weeks old.

Incidentally agree with PP's and would try to discourage TV habit. My DP (31.11) had TV in his room from an early age and still needs it on to go to sleep. He inevitably falls asleep within minutes, the TV wakes me & I have to get up and turn it off. The disturbance often keeps me awake. It causes no end of bickering!

DD's are 3.7 and 21mths and both are in bed and sleep by 7.30.

They bath together, then out a dressed ready for story together too. Lights out and sleep in their own rooms.
Sometimes they chat to teddies/sing abit before going off to sleep but no stimulation ie TV.

Officially DS1 (3) has a 7pm bedtime, in fact by the time we've finished stories, toothbrushing, etc it's normally more like 7:15. Then he bounces up demanding a wee. Then he decides he needs a poo which we asked about when he was having his wee and he strenuously denied. Actually goes to sleep around 8.

If we just keep him up til 8 it doesn't make any difference to the hour of messing about, just means he's overtired after going to sleep at 9!

Have a 3 and half year old DS. Dinner together from 6pm. Bath or quick wash from 7pm. In bed by 7.30pm for bedtime stories and cuddles. Leave him to it, asleep or not at 8pm. We love our bedtime stories and cuddles.
