I can't be the only one with a bit of a nappy obsession.

Can I? [confussed]

Oh and DD is going into her own room tonight! Wish me luck!!

fudge74 · 05/10/2012 21:10

....AND when getting the cot bedding out of the baby stuff cupboard I found some more nappies and boosters! I've got a swaddlebees velour pocket (lovely!) and a POP IN (odd, but gonna try it) and some prefolds and some hemp boosters! YAY!

Still got to get rid of the smaller ones that don't fit any more, though.

LeBFG · 06/10/2012 08:08

Amazing what you can find sometimes stashed away hey fudge? The nappy wrap sounds like a great idea to save money. I would personally be worried that my sewing skills wouldn't be up to it. I've bought some second hand wraps that work well, and I saw the new Baby Beehinds wraps were quite cheap on ebay (about 4 quid plus postage).

How did last night go? Such a relief when you can finally have some peace!

What is scottish tablet? Never heard of it

Sorry. I seem to have missed so much! Yes I live in the land of tablet. I do not like it personally. Too hard and too sweet for me. I prefer proper fudge that is soft or crumbly. I particularly like the fudge with the coconut ice inbetween. It is whatever you had as a child I think. We used to have it as a treat after going to the dentist.

I have made fudge the easy way with condensed milk. My mum makes awesome proper fudge but it kills her arm with the beating and it needs to be on a rolling boil which is just more effort than I am prepared to make.

My china nappies took a good couple of weeks to arrive. Still waiting for my tiger bum.

I cannot look at links as on my crap phone but will look later.

Not sure wool would work with liners? May be the next big thing so worth a try. I wish I had more time and energy for such creativity.

I am getting really big and uncomfy but still weigh just a couple of pounds more than when I got pg, and no weight gain since 32 weeks so clearly big boy is draining all my energy and goodness. Clearly need fudge for a boost.

I need to think about some nappies for potty training. I like the look of the flips as you just replace the pads, mighty pricy too. Might buy one and forge a few more, but just one set is thirty quid!

Yesterday DD did the biggest loose poo in the history of mankind and not a drop did leak from my 7yo fuzzis. I was so impressed. And grateful as she was sitting on her sisters bed at the time.

ValiumQueen · 06/10/2012 09:23

fudge what are the little ones of which you speak? Little nappies that is.

ValiumQueen · 06/10/2012 09:25

BFG tablet is a very hard very sweet fudge. Scottish folk will say it is not, but that is how I would describe it, and it has the same ingredients. I do not like it but still eat it. It is addictive but makes me feel sick.

LeBFG · 06/10/2012 09:37

Defo - eat some fudge. Plus make extra for when bubba arrives. You'll need all that extra energy! I just love it. I'll now have to make some. I found a condensed milk recipe on mn. Looks easy enough.

btw my smelly LLs have come up smelling clean. What a wonder vinegar is. I'm just still gobsmacked that anyone would want to keep DC in such stinky, nasty nappies. It must burn the skin surely?

LeBFG · 06/10/2012 09:39

VQ: didn't the women who invented itts bittis just make her own at the sewing machine? You could start a new nappy empire! I'll be chief fudge maker?

ValiumQueen · 06/10/2012 10:58

Selling nappies with free fudge. That would probably work. Doubly addictive. It would be hard parting with either though. We would have to employ packers.

ValiumQueen · 06/10/2012 11:00

I must try this vinegar. Is it white or malt? My nappies smell of roses obviously, but just in case...

I am using a tiny bit of metanium on DD as steroid is only twice a day. Am I likely to have problems? It does not seem to be coming off on the nappies at all. Must sort my liners out.

LeBFG · 06/10/2012 12:37

I use a clear spirit vinegar that I can buy in the supermarkets here for about 50p a litre. Not sure if you'll be able to get it in Sainsbury's. It's the same I use for making chutney. It works well for towels too. As far as I can find out, it isn't bad for tissue/elastic etc so shouldn't damage nappies long term.

Wouldn't be a good thing to eat all the produce. Humm. The employees would have to be vetted for fudge-aversion. On a side note, there's that facebook lady who makes toys from your favorite babies' vests and clothes. I'm sure there would be a little cottage business in sewing....if only we could think of something original to make. Perhaps it'll be the world's first anti-nappy rash nappy liners from VQ-Enterprises?

Notgrownupinmyhead · 06/10/2012 22:06

I got some super soft wool and some knittable bamboo stuff so shall experiment at some point.

Tablet and fudge make my teeth hurt but are both still fit.

Ive been mixing the butt cream with vaseline and slapping it on and it seems to be working. Hes just got the sores now, the redness has gone. Its something hes eaten thats turned his presents acidic but cant think what.

The nappies care labels look like the Chinese care symbols but have no brand anywhere just a 2 digit number at the top.

Ive provably said that already, i keep repeating myself. Tit.

Any handy hints for acne in your thirties?? Im coming out in it in my chin and it hurts!!

Ds3 is the noisiest baby out the lot! He farts, grunts and burps like a drunken rugby fan and even makes a racket in his sleep!! Ffs.

fudge74 · 07/10/2012 17:15

Oh BFG you have made my day - my towels need refreshing they seem to always smell a little musty and I would never have thought of using the vinegar idea - must do it asap!

valium well done on not putting on hardly any weight! I put of 4 stone with DS1 and DS 2, and so was dead chuffed with myself when I only put on 2 st with DD. She is 7 months now and I still need to get at least another half stone off to get back to my pre-PG weight, then carry on a bit more. BF does not help a lot, as I just want to EAT whenever I sit down to feed!

I think as my sewing roon is bursting with projects already, I will just go and buy some more napppies. Will focus on cute dresses for DD instead and xmas presents perhaps.

Making fudge is lethal as you end up with such a large quantity at the end you need the strength of will of a saint to not eat it all!! Perhaps it would make a good xmas gift tho...?

fudge74 · 07/10/2012 17:19

Not having much luck with DD in her own room yet, but she has a stinking cold (as do I) so I'm going to be soft on her till she is better!

The smaller nappies that I need to get rid of are a few stuffables, and a set of about 12 LL size 1s. They are all in a big basket waiting for me to catalogue so I can put on ebay or something!

notgrownup I love your description of DS3 - my DD does some great grunts, but he sounds hilarious! The things they do! Hope your knitting experiments work out.

ValiumQueen · 07/10/2012 17:27

fudge I was a fat arse to start with! I am sorely tempted to buy the nappy kit you linked to. Sorely tempted. Not that I have time to make them. So tempted it hurts!

BFG thank you for the advice about the vinegar. I also will use it on my towels I think.

I believe I have previously mentioned I plan to make my millions with a super duper fleece liner for use with two part bamboo nappies in particular. I am keeping it firmly under wraps (pun intended).

I plan to make fudge for gifts at Christmas. White chocolate and cranberry is my speciality flavour. The longer you leave it the more crumbly it gets. Therein lies the challenge. By the time it reaches the ideal crumblicity, there are only two squares left.

ValiumQueen · 07/10/2012 17:31

LLs size 1s eh? Bamboo or microfibre or towelling? Wraps? Neutral or coloured?

ValiumQueen · 07/10/2012 17:33

DDs bot is now thrush free, but the pesky spot bit is still there. No change with 9 days antibiotics, so back to the doctor tomorrow for us.

ValiumQueen · 07/10/2012 17:34

Found two of my three nappy nippas today. Yay! (easily pleased). Not that I have anything to nip. Yet.

fudge74 · 07/10/2012 18:39

Haha I was a FA too - had gone from 14 to 12 st before getting PG, went back up to 14, now around 12 1/2 ... just had golden syrup cake and custard after our roast dinner Blush. Aiming for 11st if possible, eventually.

My LL are natural coloured bamboo, and I have white wraps and the bamboo boosters and fleece liners too. I have continued using the boosters with the current stuffables, but with my discovery on Friday of other boosters and the prefolds I can put them back with the LLs to make a complete set.

crumblicity is my new favourite word! Grin

We just put the heating on - finally! Better go and get the boys out of the bath now.

ValiumQueen · 07/10/2012 18:45

They should sell well fudge (please pm me with link to listing Grin )

LeBFG · 07/10/2012 18:58

Do you think they'd do better as two lots of 6 or one lot of 12? Yeah, I think the size 1s will sell well too. Lots of people wanting to buy before PFB arriving Grin...

Loving crumblicity as well.

ValiumQueen · 07/10/2012 19:03

Probably two lots of six so folk can get a taster for their PFB. If you say you have others listed and old combine postage, then you have the best of both worlds.

I like the word defenestration, but not the meaning. You certainly would not do that to size 1 LLs.

ValiumQueen · 07/10/2012 19:14

Big announcement! The bit has blown! The clit is clear! Just in nappy change before bed, it was protruding a bit, so with a well-placed flick of the wipe (sorry, not washable) and it was gone! Like a little cream coloured stone, so no wonder it hurt! She looked so pleased Smile

LeBFG · 07/10/2012 20:02

Oh, god, sounds horrid...but great news. Poor, poor little mite. It's amazing what they put up with really.

LL=far too precious for that defenn, defenisstr - that thing anyway.

fudge74 · 08/10/2012 11:27
