Where has my patience gone?

As the title says...I am trying to find my patience...last seen about 3 days ago!
I have a DS 17 months...he has had the dreaded sore throat/ cough/cold/teething combo for over a week now. I have been the one looking after him as he only wants mummy (understandably).
The last few days I have been snappy...not in
a nasty/spiteful way...just a fed up way. I feel awful for being like this as its not fair on DS.
Has anyone else felt like this & can help me re-gain the patience which as very selfishly gone AWOL just when I need it most?
Thank you

On a pilgrimage perhaps?

Iggly · 16/12/2011 10:58

Can you get out? Wrap DS up and go for a walk. Get your dh to tale over for a bit at the weekend. Dh also makes dinner etc for you. Plus early bedtime?

What is going on with this bloody iPad? It knows that my patience is missing at the moment...

MudAndGlitter · 16/12/2011 11:02

I just thought you were really convinced it was on a pilgrimage!

GooKingWenceslas · 16/12/2011 11:07

I have usually lost mine on one of the many night time trips to the DCs rooms.

You might find it in your bed. Go and look Xmas Wink

Grin In fairness my DH has been trying to help but DS just wants me as he is poorly. He does cook tea & I have tried the early nights but nothing. It's just gone..given up..AWOL..ran off with all you MNetters patience!! I daren't take DS out as we have had snow & he is getting over being poorly. May be I've got cabin fever Hmm

How old are all your LOs? My DS is 17 months

I was exactly where you were 10days/fortnight ago. My DS is 16 months, and I felt so guilty because I knew he felt poorly but I felt quite irritated by the whining and the no eating etc etc. I really thought I must be a shite mum.

Anyway, we are not over it and he is even mre delightful than he was before being poorly! I think he is just so relieved to be feeling better again.

So hang in there. It will pass. In the meantime, grit your teeth!

xx

wifey6 · 16/12/2011 11:41

Thank you bbface... Glad your LO is better now. Smile

Are you sure you havent thrown it out ? get your rubber gloves on and have a look ! It could be its hibernating and will reappear magically next spring. If you want it back sooner ,you could always try sleeping in the airing cupboard tonight ,always worked with out hamsters when i was little Xmas Grin

wahwahwah · 16/12/2011 12:26

The times we had to rummage through the bins when mum decided to take off one of her bloody rocks and for some reason better known to herself, wrap it in a flippin tissue then bin it!

wifey, are you me? I have a 17mo and I'm going mad, he's had a cough, streamy nose, nasty nappies and general teethyness all week so we've not been going out much but I just have no patience! He is everywhere, he finds things I don't want him to, the mess is everywhere and he won't eat much and keeps asking for his advent calendar chocolate Blush

Thank god for nap time, maybe I can curl up in a ball on the sofa! Am 37 weeks pg so just exhausted anyway!

wifey6 · 16/12/2011 14:25

summer....like reading my life! They say everyone has a twin! Grin (except for the pregnancy part). Hope your LO gets better soon. What are you doing to keep your sanity? Mine is slipping away like the patience!

I think my patience and sense of humour have gone on a Caribean holiday with my energy.

wifey6 · 16/12/2011 14:38

Oo no running....do you need a moan?
