Have you adopted words created by your DC when they were learning to talk?

I now say 'scaf-building' instead of scaffolding, courtesy of DS1, because it just made sense.

Do you have any words like these?

And does it get you some weird looks?

we have the following:
squizzles (lots in our garden) DD1 named these
Ski-ding for skiing thanks to DD2
Dodie is a pacifier not sure who named that one
all 4DCs call a traffic jam a stau as we lived in Germany when they were little and it is the only German word they know
and our DS2 is called Spaniel as 16 month old DS1 couldn't say Daniel when he was born, DS2 now 7 still calls himself Dan Span

We have mitties - which was dd's word for snacky little things like nuts. Find a collective noun for said food group pretty useful myself.
Ds has started asking for hotty mook (hot milk) which I love and will hang on to as long as possible.
Our next door neighbour is still known as oviler as dd couldn't pronounce oliver (can now) but it differentiates him from the other olivers we know.

My favourites are:

Cinderumbrella for Cinderella; Derora for Aurora; Apunzel for Rapunzel (can you see a theme?)
Bee-are for bizarre
and
Satternav for sat nav.

Dobries = strawberries
Mocan patrol = remote control
rabbit-roly = ravioli

Oh and last night I walked past Nelson's Columen (he didn't realise the N was silent).

All from ds1. I'm sure there are more but I can't remember them atm.

Ds2 doesn't have a drink, or a beaker or anything like that, he has a "Chis" (cheers! - no idea where he got that from, honest guv )

We still use these, despite my son now being 11.7. My whole family use them too.

We have Aydirators, a lawner (as in lawning the mow) and DD misunderhears a lot of things!

Bedge instead of Veg, actually any word beginning with V is now pronounced with a B. And DD2 fell like a fridge a few weeks ago, I didn't know what she was talking about till later the same day she started singing 'London fridge is falling down'

Are all you lot actually referring to nipples as 'nimples' and 'niff-niff'. When exactly? At the swimming baths, ' your niff-niffs are showing mum', in the bathroom, 'your nimples are beautiful mummy' or in the bedroom, 'let me suck your niff-niffs darling'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We say observitant for observant- coined 2 years ago by daughter aged 12! And I still say 'nee-nah' for police cars etc- to the extent that when I was driving a school minibus with sixth formers in it last week I said, 'can anyone see the nee-nah'.

We have disondaur instead of dinosaur, and bungas instead of bananas...DD has just started calling them bananananas though so we may end up with that!

Also ratty instead of rabbit, makes sense I think

We have, "snuch" for a cross between a snack and lunch, favoring instead of faffing, because DS found favoring easier to say. "Larry" for cucumber and, "Bobs" for tomatoes (as per Veggietales DVDs).

I've gone into sandwich places and asked for, "Larry" and "Bobs" on my sandwich at times .

I've forgotten loads of these.

My favourite was always the milkywave (well it's for warming up milk, it makes sense!)

DD currently thinks talcum powder is called talc palc
