Better make a start on that then. Let us know how your getting on.

KatyMac · 28/02/2011 20:36

Maybe I should write about demotivation

I reckon I could do that

Oh, Katy, it could be worse...I have 2000 words due tomorrow...haven't started writing yet...

Dcs were horrible today, I'm sitting with a glass of wine and contamplating just going to bed.

Arrgh.

But yes, what Proles says, get biblio etc out of the way and then just write a couple of sentences for each paragraph- it's easier to start that way.

winnybella · 28/02/2011 21:23

contemplating, obv Hmm

HSMM · 28/02/2011 21:24

think about demotivation and hopefully the opposite will pop into your head

KatyMac · 28/02/2011 21:31

Oh hell this is awful

Doing something work based & I am so blocked
Aaargh

OP posts:
winnybella · 28/02/2011 21:43

What's the question? How many words?

KatyMac · 28/02/2011 21:44

1400

I have it down to:
1 Identification & description of the problem (10 marks = 280)
2 Analysis of the problem & conclusion to the analysis (20 marks = 560)
3 Recommendations, advantages, disadvantages & implications (15 marks = 420)
4 Presentation (5 marks)
The motivation option
This requires you to use mainly concepts from Chapter 6 of Managing and managing people. The criticisms of Maslow?s and Herzberg?s theories mean that it may not be easy for you to analyse a motivation problem with them. Expectancy Theory and the Psychological Contract are approaches to individual motivation, so you need to recognise the challenge of analysing more than one person?s motivation in the assignment.

Activity 2 (Option 1) in Week 7 which required you to analyse and plan to resolve an individual?s current motivation problem may be useful if you choose this option, but you would need to draw in other concepts that might be factors in the motivational problem ? for example, lack of training or problems with working in a team ? to cover sufficient course concepts required for this TMA option.

I just can't start

Wow, I'm getting university flash backs. Hygiene factors, hierarchy of needs, etc. Have you tried google for some inspiration (not actually words because, well, that's cheating Grin). That might start the ball rolling? Good luck. Smile

KatyMac · 28/02/2011 22:02

I have heiracy (maslow)& I remembered hygiene factors

I have effort/reward vs effort/performance/reward

I don't have summary or first line

OP posts:
Thefairiesmademedoit · 28/02/2011 22:11

Start with a definition of motivation, performance and reward? Cheesy, I know but once you get the ball rolling you can always go back and remove it? Or a quote from one of the motivational theories? Same thing as above but also improvable later.

KatyMac · 28/02/2011 22:23

I may get up early tomorrow

OP posts:
LB29 · 28/02/2011 23:09

I am crap at writing essays. The only way I can start is to make bullet points and from there expand and put into paragraphs. I also have to do silly little brainstorms so that i can link my paragraphs.
If I get really stuck I write out any quotes I think are important and then bulk out from these.
Sorry I'm just prattling on really.

KatyMac · 01/03/2011 07:41

no - that helps (at least I think it does I am a bit zoned this am - I really didn't sleep well

LB29 · 01/03/2011 08:09
