Is it ok for DH to take a bath with DD age 3?

Just got into a discussion with some parents at DDs preschool about bath time. They think dads shouldn't bath daughters. In our family, not only does DH bath DD but will also take her in the shower with him.

Up to now I've never had a problem with this. What does anyone out there think? BTW I didn't mention the bathing together thing to other parents.

I find it really sad that it is even a question. Of course it is fine.

My DH would never bath with the DC's, eldest was born in the 80's when loads of children on some little island were taken into care and their parents accused of some sort of abuse, can't remember details now but it had a BIG impact on all the dads in our group, they all worried that they would be accused of "stuff", eventually I think the kids were returned and accusations withdrawn. DH was even worried about bathing DC's without getting in! Really sad about that.
Some of my happiest memories are bathing with my dad, mum tried to stop me when I got to 7 but if I heard the boiler fire I was up those stairs, stripped and hiding behind my bedroom door waiting for her to leave the bathroom (old fashioned wife ran his bath for him)and I was in, we had the best conversations in the bath Smile

I have a bath sometimes with ds1 who is nearly 5. I think it's ok. He never seems to be 'looking' or weirded out by it, and it's just a laugh (usually with all 3 kids and me in the bath!). So I think it's fine.
