Do you go in and kiss your children goodnight when you go to bed?

I always go into 3yo DD's bedroom before I go to bed to check on her and to kiss her goodnight.

I can't imagine if they will stop, or when.

I know even as teenagers my parents would come and say goodnight (if we were awake) when they went to bed. And my mum says that even if we were asleep she'd come and kiss our foreheads - right until we left home.

I always leave a big smelly fart in each of their rooms, its like an attachemnt thing and stops them waking up

whatsername · 01/09/2005 23:03

I do too

I mainly go in to check that they are still tucked in and not lying in a muddle. Often give them a kiss unless I'm really knackered and can't run the risk of waking them up!
Funnily enough I told dh the other week about tucking them in just so that he knew to continue to do it in case I dropped down dead (yes, I am morbid)!

I check that ds is okay now he's in a bed, but only look don't touch.

When he was in a cot I left well alone in case I woke him up?

SoupDragon · 02/09/2005 08:12

Yes, every night no matter how annoyingly bad they've been during the day. I kiss them goodnight and tell them that I love them.
