Finally, at last, I get up before my DC and it has been a mighty long time coming. Youngest is 10.

Seona1973 · 21/07/2010 15:56

Ds (3.9years) is normally up first around 7am. DD (6.8years) is anytime between 7 and 8am. They have digital clocks and arent supposed to come through till they say 7:00 so they rarely come through before that unless ds needs the toilet and then he tends to come through to us first. He does go back to his room if it is before 7am though. I do let them go downstairs without me as they will just play their nintendo or put the wii or tv on. I only stay up long enough to get showered/dressed, etc

domesticsluttery · 21/07/2010 15:59

Mine are 4, 6 and nearly 8. Oldest two get up around 6.30am, DD gets up about 7am. Even during the holidays.

I let them go downstairs, but that does mean that I usually have to clear lego and a load of books and drawings off the table before we can have breakfast!

DS (4) - any time from 5.30, more usually 6.30. Not supposed to come down until 7 (haha).

DD (17months) - if I lie next to her, about 7.30. If I get up, about 3 seconds later...

muggglewump · 21/07/2010 16:03

DD is 8, and sleeps till midday unless I wake her.
She's very like me and will happily sleep till lunchtime and then have an afternoon nap!

We like our sleep here and are both nightowls.

Giddyup · 21/07/2010 20:47

DS 7 wakes up between 7 and 8 usually with the odd freakish early or late start. He has recently started waking up, getting dressed, making his bed and waking me for breakfast whilst cleaning his teeth. Which is a welcome new habit we will try and keep!

At weekends, he comes into me to check the time and let me know he is up, if its not too early he can go downstairs and play on the Wii and is allowed to fix himself breakfast but has to ask if he wants to make porridge. I rarely leave him down there by himself more than an hr or so.

whomovedmychocolate · 21/07/2010 20:48

Too early!

tedebear · 21/07/2010 21:07

DS 4 is usually around 7am, sometimes its earlier but he's quite happy to crawl in between us and lie (relatively) still until the allowable get up time of 7am....

Exogenesis · 21/07/2010 21:12

DD4 Up at the crack at dawn everyday between 5.30 and 6.30 If i'm really lucky 7am 9but only on a day when I have to be up early)

She is allwoed down stairs. However she tends to stay upstairs and play in her room (oh and wake me up)

MrsJohnDeere · 21/07/2010 21:28

Ds2 2.5yo wakes between 5.30 and 6
ds1 4yo wakes around 6.30

they go downstairs and play

Hulababy · 21/07/2010 21:31

DD is 8y and it depends on what time she went to bed. She sleeps for between 10-12 hours depending on how tired she is, what she has been up to; though usually 11 hours would be norm.

This morning she work just after 8am - I was on my way out to work and she came running out in her nightie to shout goodbye.

School mornings she is up about 7:15pm, although we often go in and wake her.

If she goes to bed late, she wakes late.

If she has a sleepover all this is fogotten and she wakes early!

DS's generally wake between 7-7.30

we put a digital clock in DS1's room as soon as he could recognise his numbers, and we told him it wasn't wake up time until the clock said 7 at the beginning.

DD is 3.2

Gets up at 8.30am. Sometimes a little later.

DetectivePotato · 22/07/2010 19:29

DS is 2.5 and wakes up between 5.30-6. Far too sodding early!!!!

Milliways · 22/07/2010 19:38

When they are Teenagers you wil be wondering how late to late them lie-in

Limpopo · 22/07/2010 19:55

DD has just turned 3 and is usually awake between 7.30 and 8am.

When she wakes up she tends to stay in bed and shout for me - for some reason she doesn't get out of bed until I'm there (maybe a throwback to her cot days??).

On holiday a few weeks ago, she went to bed later than normal and slept until 9 - 10am most mornings. Bliss

BambinoBoo · 23/07/2010 10:30

DS is 18 months and wakes up at 0550 on the dot - he's always been an early riser but an improvement from his old time of between 0445 and 0530.

We usually let him chat away to himself until 0620 then I hear his cue to come get him: "mama, maaaaaa ma". I am so envious of anyone whose child sleeps till 7am.

countrylover · 24/07/2010 13:01

DS1 (4.5) is usually awake between 6.30 - 7am but he has a moon/sun gro clock which is set for 7am so he knows not to come into our room until then. However he makes so much bloody noise playing in his room we get woken up anyway.

DS2 (1) would sleep until 7.30am sometimes even 8am but most of the time gets woken by DS1.

On the very odd occassion they have both slept until 7.30am and I wake up before them. Having just 10 minutes to gather your thoughts before getting out of bed is BLISS!

mankyscotslass · 24/07/2010 13:04

They have got a bit better this last year, and now wake up loads later, they start at 6 or 6.30 most mornings, which is great.

The older two are content to read their books quietly then, but the youngest shares with his brother, and as soon as he is awake he wants to play.

MaeMobley · 24/07/2010 13:07

DS is 6 and behaves like a teenager. At weekends he gets up at 9.30.

DD is 4 and gets up around 8/8.30.

They can get up and dress themselves without our input.

DS can get himself breakfast; DD needs help.

usualsuspect · 24/07/2010 13:09

ds is 17 ..still in bed

Cies · 24/07/2010 13:11

DS woke up at 10.45am this morning. He's 8mo. But he didn't go to bed til 11.30pm last night so it's not surprising.

takingtheplunge · 24/07/2010 15:47

DS is 2.4 and wakes at 7am like clockwork but is usally in bed before 8pm. I was feeling hard done by about 7am as I often work late into the night (work from home)
but have eaten my words after reading how many people's DC are up at 5am.
