A real kitten or an imaginary one?

Berrie · 18/03/2010 06:39

Oh a cuddly toy one usually known as Purdy which smalls, goes everywhere with us and she insists is the fifth member of the family.
Do you still have your cat? Any regrets?

Morning
Not been able to get on here much recently, and the connection is C.R.A.P.

Didn't know you had another MRI on Mon Berrie. Will you be having a sedative this time? Presumably dh will have to drive you?
Fingers crossed for a good result.

How's dd this morning?

I took dd to Guides for the first time last night after months of prevaricating.
She loved it
It's a bit of a rush;
3:30 - I collect her from school (usually nearer 3:40 )
4:00 ish - arrive home. Snarf Jacket potatoes that I'd put in before going to get her. Get changed.
4:45 - leave for Guides
5:30 - 7:00 - Guides
7:45 - arrive home

Do any of your dcs go to Beavers/Rainbows/Brownies/Cubs?

ghostofoggs · 18/03/2010 07:27

Berrie. I've not got your email address (lost in the great PC debacle). I have dh's though. Okay if I send my address to his address?

Berrie · 18/03/2010 07:41

Tis one and the same Oggs! That's fine.

Dd is still waking and crying in the night but seems ok in the day time.

Ds goes to Beavers and absolutly loves it. Even better for him, he goes out just before I would normally be talking about pyjamas!

I did tell you the Physio had rung to say she'd arranged and MRI.I've been given 10mg of diazapam. That doesn't sound very much to me. I had diazapam as a last try before going to hospital in the summer. It did nothing at all as I remember though can't remember the dose? Is that a lot? Dh will drive.

What is a good result though?

Find a problem = more surgery with poor chance of good result.

Find no problem = stuck like this for rest of life.

OP posts:
ghostofoggs · 18/03/2010 10:15

I suppose by a good result I mean that it is healing as expected and will improve as any internal swelling subsides or that they can identify scar tissue or something that could be delaying the healing.

How about instead of hoping for a good result I wish for them able to say 'Hey! that's what the problem is. If I give you a quick tap on the nose and pull your left ear it will all be better. Sorted!'

Have emailed you with my address.

Berrie · 18/03/2010 12:00

Lordy don't bother returning them. I wouldn't have had them back from my sister unles you'd asked.
Sorry Lyra - am replying to comment on e-mail!

I just want dh to do you some discs we've got on the hard drive. For watching. I've tried but it didn't work Unless you are desperate of course then I'll pop to the PO this afternoon.

OP posts:
ghostofoggs · 18/03/2010 16:58

No rush.
Anything exciting??

ghostofoggs · 20/03/2010 10:59

Sos, having bit of crappy time. Dh went for his second LFT results and the GGT was higher than the first time. The Doctor didn't have much to say other than give it another month. I've been googling and if it doesn't go down it may be that he has fatty liver disease. That's ok if caught early but fatty liver disease leads on to cirrosis and death.

The physio thinks that the MRI won't show anything, that even if it does, more surgery could make me worse. She intimated that I need to manage my pain more effectively, lose weight, have a more positive attitude etc She is going to do some acupuncture.

I have burned you a disc of Fringe, 20 episodes. It's Ok, we've been watching it anyway. I've missed the Post Office again but will get my act together next week.

OP posts:
Berrie · 20/03/2010 13:13

Sorry Lyra, was replying to Oggs there.
Where are you?

OP posts:
LyraSilvertongue · 20/03/2010 13:43

The doctor's words don't sound too helpful.
Is dh worried about the liver thing? Has he stopped drinking?
I've been busy - painting, tiling, yada yada. I'm considering tiling the kitchen floor myself but think it might be too big a job. The vinyl we had put down a year ago looks crap.
Having hair done right now, out tonight. Boys activities tomorrow.

Berrie · 20/03/2010 14:12

Dh stopped drinking between the two blood tests for a month. He drank at the weekend before he got his results but has given up again since finding out. I think it is a bit easier knowing he definitely can't drink rather then he ought not. I think he might be feeling a bit better about it now. It's just a case of wait and see. I don't think we'll be doing any more googling until he has his next blood test in a months time, too scary!

I do admire your DIY. I don't think I could face a floor. I bet the tiles are hard to cut!

Eclipse trailer. It's out in June. More bad acting from RP

Berrie · 20/03/2010 19:00

Looking forward to that!

OP posts:
ghostofoggs · 21/03/2010 09:51

How are you feeling about the MRI tomorrow Berrie?
Sorry you and dh are having a crappy time of it recently

Watched Avatar last night and really enjoyed it. It must have been fantastic at the pictures Lyra.

Just googled Fringe. It looks good. I'd not heard of it.

Berrie · 21/03/2010 10:21

Dunno, more caught up in the rows we are avoiding having today. Dh is having massive chest pains. I offered him one of my painkillers but he wouldn't be as tolerant to them as me and he'd be fit for nothing. there is a lot to do today. Always is.

RP in the Times today. Do you want me to send it in the parcel Oggs? I'm more DT at the moment. There was a man in front of me at reception at physio. He opened his mouth and this beautiful DT Scottish accent came out. I took in the Dr Who shoes, the sandy stubble and had a massive urge to snog him which never never happens to me!

We were all in the car yesterday and talking about the forthcoming Dr Who at Easter and reminiscing about me crying when DT died. Ds commented that I really liked DT and did I want to marry him? I paused fractionally before saying of course not, I had a lovely husband. Ds or dd (I forget) quickly asked, what if Daddy died would you marry him then? I said yes.

OP posts:
ghostofoggs · 21/03/2010 10:34

(((hugs))))

Wouldn't be averse to a dose of RP in the parcel , although like you I am on more of a DT roll currently.

RP is rather young isn't he? Although watcing New Moon again the other night I must admit to a growing fondness for a bit of TL too

I watched the first episode of the Eddie Izzard Marathon Man thingy the other night. What a man!
I loved him anyway but my admiration for him now knows no bounds. Bonus was that it was narrated by DT .

Berrie · 21/03/2010 13:05

TL is rather a spring chicken too.
I missed the Izzard thing. Might have made more of an effort if I'd known about DT.
Did you ever watch Hamlet? You are also missing a treat not getting to the Ericy bits of True Blood.

ghostofoggs · 22/03/2010 09:15

Hope today isn't too stressful Berrie X

Berrie · 22/03/2010 10:49

Thanks.
My back is as good as it's been in weeks. I can walk without hobbling and everything.
Parcel posted 2nd class - no note inside.

OP posts:
ghostofoggs · 22/03/2010 20:06

Thank you

How did today go? Hope you are okay.

Berrie · 22/03/2010 20:23

Fine actually. I took my sedative with a gabapentin, a tramadol and some antihistimine for good measure. Dh says I was slurring I was tearful on the way there but when I got there it was sort of as if I couldn't be bothered to feel scared. Also I only had one session so it wasn't as long.I kept my eyes well screwed shut and it really wasn't so bad.
