Hellooooooo!

OP posts:
Berrie · 28/02/2010 10:38

Thank you
It's getting worse not better though.
A relative wants to pay for me to see someone privately and for any resulting treatment. I can't let her do that though. It would cost thousands.
Do you still have snow?

OP posts:
ghostofoggs · 28/02/2010 12:32

It snowed a bit last night, but just a sprinkling and it's gone now.

Have you tried going back to your Dr?

Dh and dd are just back from riding so it's bacon buttie time here.

Berrie · 28/02/2010 13:03

Oh aye.

Every one had bacon butties this morning but I don't really eat when I am in pain.
What have you got planned for this afternoon?

Dh is chunterning about having to do all the ironing but I think he has agreed he does not need to do it all after all. We need some bits from the Co Op. Boooooring.

ghostofoggs · 01/03/2010 07:09

Morning

Am supposed to be going walking this morning but it's bloody f-f-freezing. I'll get my cup of tea (with soya milk) down me and see if I feel any warmer.

Berrie · 01/03/2010 09:21

Morning.
I'll be walking nowhere. It was crawling to the bathroom and using the potty time again this morning. Dh had to stay and do the school run. He is soooo grumpy. He didn't even say goodbye to me.
Now that the painkillers have kicked in, I am at least on my feet though I got stuck on the loo just now. I guess I'm not going to work this afternoon again. I'm not sure that I'll get to the hospital for the electro pulse therapy tomorrow.
Hope you are, as I type, marching up the hill Oggs! You'll soon warm up.

OP posts:
ghostofoggs · 01/03/2010 11:24

Oh shit Berrie . This needs sorting.

Can't you camp out at your Dr's office until they sort it?

I did the walk. Yay me! Two boiled eggs for breakfast.

Berrie · 01/03/2010 12:18

Good for you!

I've got pulse therapy for two weeks,I'll see the physio the week after and the consultant the week after that. It's out of the GP's hands really. The only other thing they had to offer last time is valium. I'll not bother with that. The Tramadol sends me half asleep as it is.
It's feeling better as the day goes on. Tis always the way. I'm proper pissed off. I'm most upset about missing work really. I hate being unreliable and we need the bloody money.

OP posts:
LyraSilvertongue · 01/03/2010 12:20

That's rubbish Berrie. The op was supposed to make you better, jot worse.
Also not fair of your DH. None of this is your fault.
I've just had another photo album session with my friends. I now have 9 albums filled (mostly with pics of DSs) so we're making good progress. Next session in four weeks.
Weekend was ok but DP hasn't spoken a word to me since Saturday when I told him I didn't want to take DSs to rugby training on Sunday at 9.30am (he'll be in Afghanistan so can't take them himself). It's my friend's 40th birthday party the night before and it's bound to be late and booze-fuelled.
He said it was a 'dereliction of duty' . He can be such a pig sometimes.

ghostofoggs · 01/03/2010 14:28

Would it help to keep a diary of your pain Berrie so that you have something tangible that you can present to the consultant?

I know from experience that it really can take your body a while to recover from any sort of surgery, let alone something so intrinsic to your mobility as your back.

How often are you getting physio? I had a years worth of at least weekly physio after I had a cartilage op on my knee. Heat treatment to break down scar tissue as well as physical physio.

Sorry you are suffering

Lyra, who is looking after the boys while you are at the party? Are they staying with relatives? Could said relatives not be pressed into rugby service?

LyraSilvertongue · 01/03/2010 17:34

I've got a friend babysitting so no help there.
I take them every bloody time he's working at the weekend, at least once a month. Just this one time, after a party, I don't want to take them. And it's an extra extended session so will involve 4-5 hours standing around in the cold (and probably rain). I think it will be too much for them too. DS2 has usually had enough after an hour.

Berrie · 02/03/2010 07:25

Yikes, I wouldn't want to do that even without the party!
When does he go to Afghanistan? Are you worried about it?

Good idea about the diary Oggs. More walking today?

We had a plan this morning. I set the alarm for 5.30am and took heavy duty painkillers. At 6.30 Dh got me into the bath while the kids got dressed and did their teeth, faces and hair before(that's the cruical bit) going down for breakfast so no need to chivvy all morning. Dd is now munching on an enormous bowl of dried shreddies she poured herself, Ds is sitting on my feet playing with his ds sighing loudly every time I mention him reading his reading book to me. I reckon I'll be ok taking them to school then going to hosp for my therapy.

OP posts:
LyraSilvertongue · 02/03/2010 08:57

Did you make it to school Berrie?

I don't know (or care right now) why he's going to Afghanistan.
Neither of you seem surprised that he hasn't spoken to me for days over this. Does that mean it's much more common behaviour than I thought? Is it the way either of your DHs would behave? Because I think it's extremely childish.

Berrie · 02/03/2010 09:19

Yes home safe thanks!
We have times when we don't talk to each other but it would go on for hours rather than days. How do you normally resolve things like this? We either have a row that gets so unpleasant that we get upset and then have to make it up to make it better or one of us relents and says sorry.
Is he around much at the moment? I guess it makes it easier to carry on when you are not actually together much.
Sorry you are having a crap time

OP posts:
ghostofoggs · 02/03/2010 09:51

Berrie, so glad your plan made things easier for you all this morning

Lyra, I haven't commented because I get the impression that this goes deeper than the rugby, but didn't want to go into any sort of depth on such a public board...
Sorry you are having a crappy time

When is he going?

Berrie · 02/03/2010 10:02

Get. The .Teaspoon. out. of. the. Nutella!

OP posts:
ghostofoggs · 02/03/2010 10:17

Ooh.... Nutella.

Boiled egg for me again. I did my walk again too accompanied by Johnny Cash .
It's absolutely gorgeous on a morning like this. Bloody cold though.

LyraSilvertongue · 02/03/2010 10:45

It's sunny and cold here too. This is what winter should be like, not grey and damp.

And yes, Oggs, he does do this kind of thing often but I shall say no more here. Sigh.
He's not sure when he's going (just had stiff phone conversation, so ice broken ). He's still juggling the details. He wants to go to the frontline this time, not just the safe Gordon Brown bit, and the logistics are proving to be a problem.

Berrie · 02/03/2010 12:21

Lord. I don't like it when DH has to do a long drive down to Devon for work!

OP posts:
Berrie · 02/03/2010 15:26

Physio just rang, she's booked me in for a scan!

OP posts:
ghostofoggs · 02/03/2010 21:48

Yay!

LyraSilvertongue · 02/03/2010 23:22

Good news. Now they can find out what's going wrong in there.

Berrie · 03/03/2010 07:06

Morning!
What's on today?

I'm hoping to get to work this morning. I probably shouldn't try it because of my back. Secondly, DD is under the weather after her swine flu jab and I'm in two minds as to whether to send her to Pre-School...
Bugger, what with half term and Easter coming up, were going to be poor, poor, poor.

OP posts:
Berrie · 03/03/2010 08:18

Right!
Going to work! can't lose another fifty squid this week!
Hope things are ok Lyra.
Bye for now!

OP posts:
ghostofoggs · 03/03/2010 09:19

Moning

I'm just tucking into tomatoes and bacon after my 2.5m walk .

Poor dd Berrie. I didn't really get a reaction other than a sore arm for a day or so.

ghostofoggs · 03/03/2010 09:20

Blimey, I appear to be channelling 'Allo 'Allo and The Hobbit this morning
