whymummy · 21/06/2005 19:43

just another sign that my brain ain't working today,dh came home and i told him i want to change driving schools,he said "try the british school of motoring" and i said "no,i'm going to call BSM" doh!

Smurfgirl · 21/06/2005 20:33

Can I join? Been learning for 2 years on and off. Failed 4 (oh yes) tests. Doing theory test again 1st july booking test again as soon as I pass that. Took my last test over a year ago.

I can do pretty much everything. Find reversing round corners to be a bit of a challenge though. Doing killer parrallel parks at the moment, fab.

misdee · 21/06/2005 20:35

whymummy, PMSL

whymummy · 21/06/2005 20:46

LOL misdee
hi smurfgirl, reading your post i realised he's not teaching me any of those things you mention, all i do is drive or turn the car

whymummy · 24/06/2005 17:30

hi,how are you all doing?
my instructor was 40 minutes late yesterday and i told him not to bother,i will go to BSM next week,is it true they only do 2 hour lessons and is £45?

misdee · 24/06/2005 17:33

it could be. mine is paid for at a reduced rate. think my driver instructor said it was 22.50 an hour. they recommend 2hour lessons as you leartn so much more. i spend about an hour of each lesson practising manouvres and about 1hour of driving.

whymummy · 24/06/2005 17:37

sounds good misdee, that's probably what i need, how are you doing?

misdee · 27/06/2005 19:35

kelly, found the discs

also have driving theory book here if uwant that? tho one discs has the questions on it anyway.

nutcracker · 27/06/2005 19:37

I think your first lesson with BSM has to be 2 hours but not the ones after that.

misdee · 27/06/2005 19:39

2 hour lessons are so much better tho. even today when i fell apart at some nasty traffic lights, and had to stop afterwards (even tho i actually did them perfectly.) i felt i had enought time to get back into driving and could forget it.

he has recommended i try bach's rescue remedy.

mumfor1sttime · 27/06/2005 20:14

Am taking a test in 4 weeks!

Kelly1978 · 28/06/2005 14:09

I got let loose on proper, busy roads for the first time yesterday. Was bloody scary, especially when realised was going have to do roundabout.

My instructer doesn't really do 2 hours, I have 90 mins. He thinks 2 is too long, and I know atm I would get tired if I did that long. I'm having two a week now tho, so I dont have to leave it so long and forget stuff.

missdee I've got the books I need thanks, just need discs. Its the hazard bit I'm most worried about.

good luck mumforfirsttime.

misdee · 28/06/2005 14:14

spent today practising manovres. watched someone on a test doinga revrse round the corner and turn in the rd. he did it very slowly but didnt make any mistakes as far as my instructor could tell.
