Anyone else heard of/been on that site? wondered how it differed to this one and which one is more popular. Of course this one is so much better!

you'll get banned by MNHQ for posting such an obscene musing.

FabBakerGirlIsBack · 25/09/2009 12:42

Has anyone ever been on Netmums and asked what they think of Mumsnet?

I would go and have a look myself however it's too bright.

Persephoponce · 25/09/2009 12:49

Imagine if The Loose Women got invited on to Lorraine Kellys's sofa for a nice cuppa & biccy, and a natter about the menopause...

Now imagine if Emily Maitlis off Newsnight and Lauren Laverne off Late Review got rat arsed on Pinot Grigio and started talking about fanjos, mooncups and what a cock Jeremy Clarkson is...

And you have sort of got the gist of the Two Tribes of NM and MN.

GetOrf - I thought that was where "nest of vipers" came from. Although, that sounds a little too literate for them...

I was on Netmums about a hundred years ago.

I left in a huff after I got into a big barney on a thread asserting that Jean Charles DeMenezes 'brought it on himself' by overstaying his visa .

MerlinsBeard · 25/09/2009 13:13

Netmums makes my eyes hurt with sparkles and the fluff gets in my eyes.

Here you know someone will tell you the truth in words that contain no sugar

Katisha · 25/09/2009 13:14

Netmums words : awww hi hun, hugs, lol, hubby

Mumsnet words : boak, fanjo, twunt, nice ham.

Besom · 25/09/2009 13:30

Wasn't it that someone's dh posted and called us a 'nest of vipers'?

squeaver · 25/09/2009 13:50

Ah thanks besom

scroobiuspirate · 25/09/2009 13:53

pmsl @ 'too bright'

GypsyMoth · 25/09/2009 14:02

aam a MNer through and through....but still don't know what 'boak' means???

DuelingFanjo · 25/09/2009 14:03

I posted on there for some advice I didn't want to post on here for real life reasons and got one reply with some hugs and a hun ... I have never posted again.

junglist1 · 25/09/2009 20:10

It's OK apart from when you get angry their pictures are there staring at you making it worse. And you can't tell them to fuck off or anything. I don't mind the huns too much

ClubPenguin · 25/09/2009 21:13

Ooh can they actually see you back??

HecatesTwopenceworth · 25/09/2009 21:21

netmums is not as blunt as mumsnet.

It's not for me because I can't help feeling that lots of hugs and huns and never saying what you really think (cos any hint of argument gets deleted!) makes for a very fake atmosphere. I much prefer people to say what they think, even if it's not what you want to hear! So I stick to mumsnet.

That said, I am sure there are as many great people on NM as there are on MN and it's not a critism of them as people or anything.

happyharry · 25/09/2009 21:43

I do both. Although I use netmums more for work. Lots of info on things in area. Not so much for chat.

hullygully · 25/09/2009 21:45

I LOVE Netmums, they are so much more open to unusual sexual practices. Not just boring old Fri night bumsex.
