Anyone else heard of/been on that site? wondered how it differed to this one and which one is more popular. Of course this one is so much better!

I am a simple lass and I find the site just too busy. There is stuff every where.
At least here you know you are an idiot if by post 10 someone has had a go at you!

it's vomit-inducing soemtimes.

Yes. But I bet behind the scenes there is loads of bitching going on

Back already. Aren't they awfully polite over there.

Netmums is good for finding local things to do; toddler groups, softplay etc but thats all I've looked at. Its a bit more local than MN so it has its uses but as a chat forum I have never used it and don't think I will as long as MN exists. HTH

But I do like the recipe section.

Well I just went for a nosy and had a look at the topical/news section and there is a mssive lecture post about what you can and can't discuss so basically netmums does not like you to have an opinion.

I LOVE Netmums, they are so much more open to unusual sexual practices. Not just boring old Fri night bumsex.

I do both. Although I use netmums more for work. Lots of info on things in area. Not so much for chat.

netmums is not as blunt as mumsnet.

It's not for me because I can't help feeling that lots of hugs and huns and never saying what you really think (cos any hint of argument gets deleted!) makes for a very fake atmosphere. I much prefer people to say what they think, even if it's not what you want to hear! So I stick to mumsnet.

That said, I am sure there are as many great people on NM as there are on MN and it's not a critism of them as people or anything.

Ooh can they actually see you back??

Report
junglist1 · 25/09/2009 20:10

It's OK apart from when you get angry their pictures are there staring at you making it worse. And you can't tell them to fuck off or anything. I don't mind the huns too much

I posted on there for some advice I didn't want to post on here for real life reasons and got one reply with some hugs and a hun ... I have never posted again.

Netmums makes my eyes hurt with sparkles and the fluff gets in my eyes.

Here you know someone will tell you the truth in words that contain no sugar

I was on Netmums about a hundred years ago.

I left in a huff after I got into a big barney on a thread asserting that Jean Charles DeMenezes 'brought it on himself' by overstaying his visa .

GetOrf - I thought that was where "nest of vipers" came from. Although, that sounds a little too literate for them...
