anyone having a party?

badjelly · 23/05/2003 10:05

How sad is this - I'm videoing it as I've got to go to a birthday party for someone I hardly know - actually I feel a migraine coming on

BigBird · 23/05/2003 10:29

swapped the babysitter to tonight, so we can stay in tomorrow night and maybe have friends round!

Tinker · 23/05/2003 10:30

I want to video it since my mum is coming to stay this weekend so opportunity of babysitter. But I'm worried it won't fit onto a 3 hour tape! Never quite got to grips with longplay function of VCR.

whymummy · 23/05/2003 14:29

mm, know what you mean

How long before someone starts a BB thread, d'you reckon?

Claireandrich · 23/05/2003 20:00

Anyone watch it with subtitles on? It translates all the song lyrics into English - can be quite amusing.

Can't believe it is on for over 3 hours this year. Going to have to get more wine in.

hewlettsdaughter · 23/05/2003 20:22

Hurrah!

Watching Eurovision with subtitles (and booze) is the ONLY way to watch it

Bobbins · 23/05/2003 20:44

The BBC in house magazine has a Liquid Eurovision voting sheet on the back!

I'll be switching between Liquid Eurovision and Terry

What about the 60's entry (69?) by France Gall "Poupee de cire, poupee de son" - she had a huge career in France, married a very good song writer too and the sing is still a hit. A bit loike Waterloo.

As for the French represented by arabs (presumably from Algeria?) - I didn;t know anything about it.... so I'll have to see ! A few years ago they did have a lady who was arabic (not sure where from)- but she had a fab voice, I think she came second. I think it shows diversity of the French actually !

I heard the song on radio 2 on Friday and it sounded better hence I really felt she was out of tune at the beginning... they were hoping this would be a big break... why did they get far less exposure than Jessica Garlick last year anyway??????

leese · 24/05/2003 21:23

Hmmmmm - poor show by UK methinks - and no Terry, we do not all agree that Jemini 'did us proud'. Very nervous, very tuneless - very nil point
