pippi, yes, like normal rotten flu, horrible cold, achey bones/muscles, a bit of temp, sweats/chills. didn't get swabbed, they don't do it anymore, but as they had it at school and other parents have it I think the chances of it not being swine flu are small. as the GP said, it's normally very mild and sometimes people don't realise it is that and get better within a couple of days. I think it's lasting longer with me because I've just finished the anti-b for the tonsillitis, so he gave me the tamiflu as it started on friday. but there must have been a big outbrake as the surgery was constantly engaged all day, eventually DP managed to get through and receptionist agreed to get GP to ring just because I asked about DD and DS, they said they were really overwhelmed (modays are always busy but you couldn't even get on the phone queue!). I had another terrible night (chills/sweats) plus DS kept on crying and coughing (though seemed fine this morning), but the meds must be working as I feel so much better this morning, a part from the cold and the headache it brings.
but it is confusing, NHS direct only want to speak to you if it's urgent/high risk, same with GP so it's difficult to get specific info a part from the more "general" stuff on the website, you know, I didn't want to "disturb" them as I felt rotten but not worse than usual flu IYSWIM, but I just wanted to make sure I was ok to bf DD and see if I needed the meds for the DCs as prevention. I think if your DH/DD2 start getting cough etc they'd be seen straight away, though, and will be first in line for the jab in sept.
