welcome!

No, I didn't abandon you lot, it was truly a total lack of time.

I was in Rome the other week, I did think of asking if either your or Gio were up for a meet up one night but then my computer died and my phone went on strike so I couldn't access internet for 2 days, by which time it was time to come back....

Talking of phoes, crappy vodafone and their assistance. They sold me a stupid phone, said it could do loads of things, it transpires that it can do none of those things and when I asked how to set it up as it was clearly not working it was suggested to me not once but 4 times that I switch it off and back on again. Erm yes, and that will do what exactly? Then customer ervices rings me up in the middle of a client meeting to ask if I'd like to do a survey on their level of service. I need to take it back to the shop but I just don't have a morning to waste at the moment. Grrrr.

gio71 · 06/07/2009 08:00

welcome back Brange. Sympathise re vodafone. I have sent my blackberry back to centro assistenza twice in less than a year, took 2 weeks each time and then they just sent me a new one so why couldnt they just give me a new one in the bloody shop so am not without for 4 weeks!!!!!!!!! Then yesterday it started playing up again. Vodafone worse than useless!
Camo so jealous re TT . How was Howard looking??
Rosa re car story.

Brangelina · 06/07/2009 10:20

Ooh, so that's who the 4 hunks were! Duh.

Got loads of work this morning but laptop keeps playing up so am rebelling and having some me time instead of getting irate at the computer and feeling my blood pressure rise.

Sputnik · 06/07/2009 15:34

Yes we had a chiavetta thing from vodafone it took them weeks to fix. They even sent a message to say it was ready, DH traipsed all the way to the 1 place (in some obscure part of Rome) they fix them, and er actually it wasn't.

francagoestohollywood · 06/07/2009 19:12

Hei Brangelina, welcome back!!! Hope you don't have too much work tonight, as Mio fratello e' figlio unico with our scamy is on canale 5 tonight!

Sputnik, have emailed you my address... you better have shaved then !

Gio, hello, good to see you!

Rosa, glad to hear you had a lovely time in san candido, but about the car! was it an old or a new 500? !

Camo, at last you had your much awaited TT night!

I w0onder if Buch has left for the uk now. I think so, no?

Mccloud, the book I'm reading is about a psicologa from new york who starts to convince herself that her new, smart patient is the dd she gave in adoption 24 yrs earlier. Very good.

hello people, sorry for really long absence, have been trying to find some inner peace. not quite succeeded but here's a brief summary, more will hopefully follow...
a) we're definitely moving to Geneva
b) the heat was lovely pity it's over
c) WOW at Bucharest being quote of the week, do you win anything?

xx

Sputnik · 06/07/2009 22:38

MM sorry to hear you're not happy about Geneva. Come back soon.
Did Buch make quote of the week then? How exciting.

Camomilla · 06/07/2009 23:05

Gio, they were all gorgeous!! such a great show!!

MM, hopefully you'll find something you like about it, you never know... LI will still be here to cheer you up!

oh, no, DD's up again, night night

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 07/07/2009 09:45

Oh MM don't know what to say. I can just imagine how you must be feeling. But yes hopefully it'll be better than expected. Have you thought about what will YOU do there? Want to meet up soon? Get a day off and come over for a cuppa!!!!!

francagoestohollywood · 07/07/2009 10:37

MM, I'm so sorry you feel so sad about moving to geneva. I really do sympathise with your feelings, as I know how uprooting for someone else feels. But I'm pretty sure you'll find reasons to like the place, after all it is a big city. And you sound resourceful, I'm sure you'll find exciting this to do. Or at least you'll learn to sky

Pippi, did you get my email and sms?

OP posts:
DamonBradleylovesPippi · 07/07/2009 10:47

yes, was just chacking train times etc. will let you all know what I am doing as soon as I know myself. as usual nothing happens for months and then a million things for the same weekend.

francagoestohollywood · 07/07/2009 10:54

by the way for those of you in England, (especially Penthe who seems to know a lot about fashion and style) i am tryng to find out when the jigsaw sales generally start, i have seen a dress i really like but don' t want to fork out 100 quid for it, especially as it will be covered in stains within 5 mins of wearing it, i noticed French Connection had sales, but don't like their stuff...

drizzling here in london, hope it's not the end of the summer..

McCloudsextoy · 07/07/2009 12:36

just read bucharest's quote, absolutely brilliant...
mm you do sound resourceful, are you moving permanently there or just for a few years?

Sputnik · 07/07/2009 13:52

Yes really good quote.
Watch out for your Boden catalogue McC!
I've discovered Boden stuff resells really well on ebay. I sold some of DD's shorts for over £7, I think I probably paid £12 or so in the sale for them originally.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 07/07/2009 15:55

good quote bucharest but but but it would not apply to me. as nobody in england checked my private once in either pg, only when they were about to pop out. I let you imagine the of all my italian friends.

francagoestohollywood · 07/07/2009 16:48

Oh Mccloud, forgot to say that I've got no pics of the flat I liked here in Milan. Lots of estate agents still don't put property pics and details on their website. It is property mafia, I tell you.

Have just been out and overworked my credit card in the sales , but I'll be dear dear friend's testimone in september and I felt I had to dress the part...

Beware of jigsaw though. I found that the quality is not that exciting, doesn't wash well ime.

OP posts:
McCloudsextoy · 07/07/2009 17:07

i like their linen items, and don't wash tehm often or very lightly by hand as i am terrrified of ruining them ....i think their quality has got worse in the ast few years, but i cannot find nothing on the high street that i like....
did i tell you i bought a boden dress for myself for 10p at a jumble fair, i keep thinking i finally look like a proper mumsnetter, or i look hideous. or both.

thank you for shoppping me at boden sputnik......

McCloudsextoy · 07/07/2009 17:07

well wehn you move you will have to take pics!

francagoestohollywood · 07/07/2009 17:24

lol mccloud !

Of course I'll send you pics of our flat as soon as we find one . Which might never happen. The one we loved was gorgeous, it even had a camino in the living room . If I send you mine, will you send me yours?

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 07/07/2009 17:27

I forgot to say... It seems that I don't have gout nor reumatismi or artrite. The doc said it might have been an infection . I asked him if it can be related to my scoliosis, but he said that pain in the arch of the feet yes, is related, swollen pollice and metatarso is not.

And by the way, I have another colpo della strega, I can't move my lower back and I'm tutta storta since yesterday night. Doctor gave me anti infiammatori and told me to book a visit with gp (he is a sostituto) and have some x rays done

OP posts:
Sputnik · 07/07/2009 17:41

Well, good that you don't have gout or artrite anyway. Sorry to hear about the strega, have you tried one of those funny pillows?
I have one like this might help?

francagoestohollywood · 07/07/2009 17:44

Oh yes, I've been meaning to get that pillow for ages.

Yes, good about the gout, means I can drink a lovely glass of chilled beer while I cook

OP posts:
Sputnik · 07/07/2009 18:13

I recommend it.
I have listed so much stuff on ebay, it's giving me a headache!

Rosa · 07/07/2009 20:16

Brange glad that you are hanging in there....Thought you had abandoned us .
MM ok so Geneva I can't remember Franca where was the MN that was going to move to Milan but then diddn't wasn't she in Switzerland??
I hope MM that it does work out ok and that you will be happy there - I agree huge upheaval moving.
Take That - I must admit they are a bit after my time ( age alert !!)
Franca what a pain about the strega and also not exactly knowing about your foot/police etc. Well done on the credit card however !
I was going to go out this pm but minirosa had a massive febbre 39 - no other symptoms she was bouncing and singing as normal. She is under tacchip p which should wear off about now so will see. We should be leaving Thurs so will see if I can get doc to just check her over ears throat etc . No bumps in her mouth for teeth !!!Boh.
I was going to say ok for Boden but there is nothing left in the sale in dd size!
I should be packing but am not doing it incase it is tempting fate.....( should be going to the Uk onThurs)
