OH Joannne, you really have to get over yourself! It was a football, not a house brick. I adore animals but comeon , take a chill pill, what woulkdthe ball have done to it if it had caught it? F all. Jesus, worry about something important, not a football missing your cat which poos in your neighbours garden. Move on.

tarantula · 29/04/2005 19:49

I think you need to Get a Life Joanne Its a cat and it was shitting in someone elses garden. Take responsibility for your pets for heaven sake and I think you are dthe one who should apologise TBH

This too weird!

assumedname · 29/04/2005 19:54

Has this particular cat been seen pooing in the garden? If not, it could be any cat.

emeraldefmach · 29/04/2005 19:54

This is such a good opportunity to make up and become friends! I like happy endings.

Joanne23 · 29/04/2005 19:54

ithinkitwasme, would like to talk to you face to face and apologise, can I call round?

I think we all have the right to defend our gardens with hoses, footballs, rocks etc.

Just be grateful we're not in America or the cat would have had a .22 in it's retreating hindquarters...

poor joanne

I don't have animals (mum had 4 cats!) but I would be upset if I saw someone throwing something at my animals. Maybe Joanne didn't realise it was pooing in her garden?

Having said that, we have a major problem with cat poo on our patio and in our flower pots and I did throw some gravel in the direction of the cat last time it was here (not to hit it but to frighten it away with the noise).

I find cattle prods to be most effective when dealing with this type of pest.

assumedname · 29/04/2005 19:57

So the next time some idiot from the park tries to get into my garden I can use a hosepipe or a rock on him, can I morningpaper?

emeraldefmach · 29/04/2005 19:57

Good on you, Joanne, Make up, make up! An unusual Mumsnetter meetup!

starlover · 29/04/2005 19:58

assumedname.. yes
a hosepipe is hardly gonna hurt anyone or anything is it?

starlover · 29/04/2005 19:59

won't it be funny if joanne goes round and it isn't her at all.
her neighbour will wonder what the hell is going on!

morningpaper · 29/04/2005 20:00

assumedname: oh yes defintely

If Michael Howard gets in, it will be compulsory.

Bearess · 29/04/2005 20:00

Joanne, I do get why you're upset hon, but we now know your neighbour wasn't trying to hurt the puss, she's at the end of her tether, she sounds nice and you can sort it out amicably

iprefercream · 29/04/2005 20:00

Assumedname, how boring! I keep a crossbow and arrow handy for park idiots. For pets, well they go down nicely in the BBQ with a glass of champagne!

Thomcat · 29/04/2005 20:00

It was a footballlllll, thrown to missssss, I feel sure your cat is not traumatised.

BY the way, if you saw a fox digging a hole in oyur lawn, or doing something destructive, how would you deal with it? Personally I'd pick up soemthing to throw and scare it off.

And just cos noone is agreeign with you being a bit OTT over a cat and a ball that missed doesn't mean it's the mafia or that we're ganging up. When anyone talks to you about anything on any other thread other than this it will be business as usual.

assumedname · 29/04/2005 20:01

Don't tempt me!

iprefercream · 29/04/2005 20:02

Don't keep fish!

bosscat · 29/04/2005 20:03

why do ardent cat lovers always assume that everyone will love their furry little rats the same as they do? that may sound harsh but this comes from someone who does not love cats, who lived below someone who actually BUILT A CAT LADDER down to MY garden so that their 2 cats could come down and exercise and shit, guess where, in my garden. I couldn't even open my windows in the summer because they would come in to the flat. I hate cats, I am allergic to them. Joanne - you have no right to insist that your neighbours tolerate your cat on their own property. You can only hope that they don't bang on your door one night to shout at you how outrageous it is for them to have to clean up your pets excrement on a daily basis. If it was me I'd chuck it back over the fence, preferably when you were sunbathing.
