E primavera ...Buona Pasqua Tutti .......

OP posts:
Sputnik · 07/05/2009 14:45

I have been excused school run today as they are tarmacing our (dead end) road and we are stuck! I was actually looking forward to a day at home with DCs, I must be mad. In fact I was as I've already had a bad mummy moment, shouting at DD over something totally unreasonable

Penthesileia · 07/05/2009 14:48

LOL Camomilla! So relieved I can share the shame.

I got her a few t-shirts, some soft leggings, some cute grey dungarees, and a duffel (sp?) coat for next winter.

It wasn't nearly as feral and violent as I'd been led to believe, although I imagine we missed the first onslaught. I realise now, however, that there was a circle of women sitting on the floor, sorting through big piles of clothes which obviously they'd swept up with huge bags in order to "bagsy" it before everyone else! I do not have the dynamism to navigate such an event successfully!

Sputnik: I do not understand, at all, why Gap don't launch an online shop. What's that about? Is it a tax thing, or something?

Sputnik · 07/05/2009 15:20

It's a mystery isn't it.

francagoestohollywood · 07/05/2009 17:48

Yes, I wonder why gap doesn't go online as well. I think it's fab for boys. I read in the guardian last summer that gap has been overtaken by zara now.

Today's been first proper warm day and I'm frankly exhausted after school run (x 2) and time at very busy giardinetti. I get incredibly apprehensive at giardinetti, and I wish I could be one of those laid back mothers who spend all their time chatting on a bench, while their children run wild.

francagoestohollywood · 07/05/2009 17:51

Have just made the mistake to look at Boden baby, and now I'm www.boden.co.uk/en-gb/Baby-Tops-and-T-shirts/71068/Baby-Summer-Play-Set.html broody]]. How cute is that?

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 07/05/2009 18:29

Ciao. all well in the pippi's household. no swine flu. apparently you only go to the doctor if 1. you;ve been to mexico 2. have quite severe side effects i.e. not breathing properly, swollen lips etc . In any other case you take paracetamol and chi si e' visto s'e' visto!

read Miss Pettegrew. liked it. light reading but nice.

the dds are watching a cartoon of Dr Jekill and Mr Hyde ... possibly too scary?! boh.

Re boden: 'tis a mistery to me. I never heard of it pre MN and when I lurked I thought surely overpriced stuff. I cannot buy clothes on line. Too much faff having to send them back etc. Only buy from Vertbaudet for dd sometimes on sales and Like it. As a matter of principle I won't do boden (let's see what happens when pippi joins the private school cliques ! only joking, hopefully!) I never did topshop as though overpriced. Now like it when not busy. But really I hardly buy clothes these days and if I do is often TKMax.
of and yes gap tshirts last a lifetime.

Camo let us know, curious about the people at a boden's party. what is a boden's party anyway?

I so want to read sophie's choice now. must find it amidst the mess boxes.

francagoestohollywood · 07/05/2009 19:13

Actually, a Boden party, do you think it'll be charged of sexual tension? All those women in floral (badly cut) dresses and all those men in "Laundered stripey shirts"... sounds like a Harmony book...
I loved tkmaxx, I once got dd 2 Antik Batik tops at very bargainy price!

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 07/05/2009 20:20

LOL at 'sounds like a Harmony book...'

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 07/05/2009 20:41

Lol at the Boden party! I could not imagine anything erotic about a man dressed in Boden. [frigid emoticon]
Dcs are dressed mainly in handmedowns tbh, a la scruffy east end, as damon can testify.
Still fluey, don't think it is pig flu, just usual flu, boh!
Have bloody dvds to watch, but when evening comes i just feel like going under the duvet with a book. It might not be worth for us doing bloody lovefilm at this rate.
Damon I tried to call, will try tomorrow, too comatose now.

francagoestohollywood · 07/05/2009 20:49

No, no no Mc cloud, I recommend lovefilm in this sense, actually. Because it forces you to sit down and watch a dvd at least once a week. I really miss lovefilm, it was great.

TheMysticMasseuse · 07/05/2009 20:50

hey londoners, should we attempt a meetup (i know you guys meet up, i just want to meet you too?).

problem is- i work 3 and a half days, so i could do only monday afternoon with the two dds, but latish (around 3.30 or 4 due to nap issues) or mondays/fridays int he morning with only dd2 but early as i have to pick up dd1 at 12...

franca- i am now broody over the baby combo...but i WILL NOT, maybe if it's stll ther ein the sale...

TheMysticMasseuse · 07/05/2009 20:53

Hey Pippi, you are wanted here

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 07/05/2009 21:10

Hi MM. Would love to meet up, but early is not possible for me as ds at school, and late still not possible as after 330pm, I am countingdown to 7pm when dcs in bed for my 12 hours of childfree -coma- pleasure...maybe during summer hols?

francagoestohollywood · 07/05/2009 21:13

Masseuse, get that baby combo, you know you want to...

Mccloud, don't you go out in the mornings?

TheMysticMasseuse · 07/05/2009 21:14

but mccloud you could come without ds... no?

i forgot you've got kids in bed at 7, all'inglese...

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 07/05/2009 21:17

god how famous I am! Thanks MM.

same here cannot do those times. a weekend? why don;t you come to the marylebone fair on sat?

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 07/05/2009 21:25

oh, goodness i always forget about having dd, she is such a bimba placida! a weekend would be better, as with dd tend to relax at home, la quiete dopo la tempesta.

TheMysticMasseuse · 07/05/2009 21:29

i wanted to come to marylebone but i have already got plans... if they get cancelled i will!

Camomilla · 07/05/2009 21:29

lol at the boden sexual tension
but as far as I nderstand it, it'll be full of woment trying on clothes to order with a glass of wine (must remember to check with friend!). it's really an excuse for me to go out after 10 months of clausura...

MM, I prefer mornings, without DS though as he's at school, guess we can have a second meet up over half term in case

TheMysticMasseuse · 07/05/2009 21:31

i want to give up work... too hard. i am going to bed now as dh needs to wake up at 4 to catch a flight.

buona notte

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 07/05/2009 21:31

infact it is in my mind that i relax at home, i am quiet busy with home stuff and garden stuff, and then we have the long nap for dd, my time alone for me. i do like my dd and ds, but love also when they are absent...off to bed, all sore.

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 07/05/2009 21:34

lol, Camo, now i have this image of this house in green suburbia with these women undressing, drinking wine, very weird...
ciao mm, chin up, at least you have an interesting job..

francagoestohollywood · 07/05/2009 21:35

a marylebone meet up sounds heavenly. Pippi: I'm impressed .

Camo, just start to panic if they start putting car keys in a bowl and take their stripey shirts off and frilly cardis...

francagoestohollywood · 07/05/2009 21:38

'notte Masseuse. One day we might be able to organize a huge meet up in London.

Camomilla · 07/05/2009 21:45

now you're getting me all paranoid , another reason not not get undress and try on stuff. Notte mm and McC

franca, that'll be lovely. when did you say you're in Cambridge?
