E primavera ...Buona Pasqua Tutti .......

OP posts:
Penthesileia · 05/05/2009 21:35

franca, I've always wanted to read that book. Shall we get it and read it and discuss it here?

francagoestohollywood · 05/05/2009 21:39

Let me check if I still have it ...

Camomilla · 05/05/2009 21:41

Penthe, my mum had to bring my late grandad packs of "felce azzurra" talco (he lived in France) as he couldn't live without it! I have to say though that I love the smell, but I suppose it's to do with the memories of being little.

ROsa, you'll be fine, my mum had to learn with us too (italian parents but born in france, only moved to italy when she got married) and the italian system was somewhat behind compared to the french one (I was ok, but she spent agonising afternoons making my brother do his homework, and now history is repeting itself with her having to do the same with my niece)

francagoestohollywood · 05/05/2009 21:42

Yes, it's here!

francagoestohollywood · 05/05/2009 21:48

Oh the felce azzurra! My grandma had spuma di sciampagna...

Penthesileia · 05/05/2009 21:59

LOL Camomilla - it's funny what you can't do without.

OK, franca, so shall I try to get it tomorrow, and then we can have our own mini miserable book club?

Camomilla · 05/05/2009 22:04

Just realised I'm going to be a bad mum as I might have to miss DS's school summer fair, but after 13 years of waiting I can't really miss Take That at Wembley ...

francagoestohollywood · 05/05/2009 22:04

Right, I'm up for it

ANd then, at a later time, can we discuss sophie's choice ?

francagoestohollywood · 05/05/2009 22:06

Are they still sans robbie?

Penthesileia · 05/05/2009 22:16

I am talking about Sophie's Choice, franca... What book are you talking about?

Camomilla - you're going to see Take That? That's so uncool as to actually be cool!

francagoestohollywood · 05/05/2009 22:19

Ups sorry . I thought you meant the wonder spot, which is deffo lighter than sophie's choice.

But yes, lets do sophie's choice. I need to discuss it ( iread it over christmas)

Have to go, connection painfully slow

Brangelina · 05/05/2009 22:20

Lol at Take that, I was too cool for them the first time around but now can't stop myself from myself singing Reeelight my Fey-er and the other one that goes tra la la (want you back maybe?)

Camomilla · 05/05/2009 22:21

don't care about vergogna, need to finally fulfill at least one teenage dream

franca, no robbie

Penthesileia · 05/05/2009 22:22

Ahhh, I see. Ok, cool. I'll try to find a copy tomorrow, and read it asap, and then we can discuss it. Fantastic. I'll look forward to it (insofar as one can look forward to such a depressing read...).

Buona notte.

Actually, think I will slink off too, and watch an episode of Spaced.

Night all.

Take that and party, btw, Camomilla.

Brangelina · 05/05/2009 22:23

I went to see David Cassidy when I was about 6 and I still have a soft spot for him. Now that really is vergognoso!

Camomilla · 05/05/2009 22:24

penthe, but if tonight is like the past 3 it'll be "up all night"

Camomilla · 05/05/2009 22:27

well you see, the only time I saw anyone was a small gig in a club in aviano.... went to see Dodgy! (though that might have had s.thing to do with destiny, as the following night DP and his band were their supporting act in london, 18 months before we met!!)

gio71 · 06/05/2009 07:07

camo went to see Take That in Manchester when they first got back together. They were fabulous! Was 6 mths pregnant with ds at the time and he loves it as well, was dancing around in my stomach!
Franca glad drugs are working.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 06/05/2009 07:56

I'll try to read sophie's choice too...

feeling crappola this morning and have a million things to do. oh well...

Penthesileia · 06/05/2009 10:40

Camo - your DH is in a band?

Gio - love the idea of your DS bopping along to TT in the womb.

Pippi - what's up? Hope things are going ok.

I am hoping the weather holds, as am planning to go on a sculpture walk with DD, a friend and her DD this morning.

Must also remember to buy Sophie's Choice.

francagoestohollywood · 06/05/2009 11:55

Pippi, have you still got a temp?

Penthe, I'd give you my copy, but I must re read bits of it if I want to have a decent discussion about it.

Camo I'm sure you'll have a great time! (though they are a bit gini without robbie )

francagoestohollywood · 06/05/2009 11:57

what is a sculpture walk btw? Is it a walk among sculptures or is it a smart way to tone up your bum and legs?

Brangelina · 06/05/2009 12:14

Lol Franca!

I have a copy of Sophie's choice somewhere I think - probably still in a box in the cellar. Read it ages ago so have probably forgotten loads.

I'm still feeling shitty today, millions of things to do and I can't seem to get my head around starting any of them. I want to take poor DD to the park this afternoon instead of dragging her back here to play by herself while I finish working, so I should really sort myself out. Do you think PMT gets worse with age?

Brangelina · 06/05/2009 12:15

Ah Pippi, I see you feel crappy too. Shall we both have a self indulgent crapathon?

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 06/05/2009 12:25

'PMT gets worse with age?' Yes definitely!

feel better but can still indulge. my temp outbursts always last about half a day. boh.

catholic primary very very good imo. maybe because it's a bit old fashioned - curriculum-wise and desks etc and reminds me of my old primary . Children very very happy and relaxed and well mixed. do quite lots of grammar and math etc. Not too heavy on religion either, obv catholic etc but children are from every place, race and faith and look well scruffy too .
If I have to go private it'll def be this one I think. Also cheapest.
