When I diidn't have anything I used fly spray on them and then selotaped up the holes that I thought they were coming in by!!!!

Penthesileia · 05/05/2009 21:00

Yikes about the ants!!! Do you know where they're coming in?

francagoestohollywood · 05/05/2009 21:00

Yes, I'll book an apt with gp, though I think that what I should do is keep active and have massages, don't carry weights, etc.

Yes, will go and look for those traps. Mil also recommended borotalco, apparently they can't walk on it. Evil creatures.

Rosa · 05/05/2009 21:03

Another good use for Borotalco - I never knew that I read on anohter thread that talco is excellent for rubbing sand off when you don't have a doccia or before putting shoes on after the beach !!!!

Borotalco!!!! LOL LOL LOL! DH is obsessed with borotalco. We have to import it from Italy in massive tubs!

TheMysticMasseuse · 05/05/2009 21:04

hey everyone, have been reading from work but no time to answer and now too tired... aargghhh would have lots to say, but will have to wait till friday my day off. in the meantime, i got this by email in case anyone is interested:

Gentile Signore/a,

Giancarlo Aragona
Ambasciatore d?Italia

We had ants too last week after all that rain. they probably had got flooded out of their nest and were looking for a new one. We just put a barrier of peperoncino and canella down on the balcony where we found they were coming from and they haven't been back since. I can't do poison due to the presence of cats and small child, but have found the peperoncino/cannella mix to be quite effective on more than one occasion.

Glad your torcicollo is better, drugs are wonderful things sometimes.

Rosa, don't worry too much about schools, everything will work out just fine. I had a foreign mum who didn't understand the Uk system or even how we did our maths yet I managed just fine, as did my sister (in her own way....).

Had a shit day at work today, am feeling very grumpy but that might just be PMT. I need a career change, but what? I'm trying to think of a comfortable SAH type job/business which will earn me as much as my salary so I can chuck it all in, but I'm out of all entrepreneural ideas.

Brangelina · 05/05/2009 21:11

Have tried borotalco but it didn't work. Maybe the ants were immune.

Penthesileia · 05/05/2009 21:11

What do you do, Brange (if you can say here)? What happened?

Brangelina · 05/05/2009 21:12

Aargh! my connection is so sloooow, you've all written loads in the meantime! I think I'll go and pour myself a large glass of that 1,99 bottle of bonarda I picked up in auchan instead.

TheMysticMasseuse · 05/05/2009 21:16

also, i have posted this in fiction, but really i should have asked you lot! any ideas?

Penthesileia · 05/05/2009 21:16

My connection is also painfully slow today. Maybe it's MN???

Gawd. I'd like a glass of wine... Hmmm...

1.99 - LOL Nice. (said like that jazz bloke in The Fast Show!).

Brangelina · 05/05/2009 21:16

Just shitty clients who are resisting change from their HO as have always got away with doing what they wanted here, so I'm having to bang my head against several brick walls all at once. It's pointless, they're just going have to toe the line in the end but they still try it on. Out of all countries we have offices in the Italian clients are the hardest to deal with. Grrr

francagoestohollywood · 05/05/2009 21:19

Brange, sorry, but lol lol lol at your comment on your sis "in her own way" . I went to Bastianello today (, I escorted a friend of mine in a wedding dress search. Which failed today btw). I ate a sfogliatella and thought of you.

Mmmmm didn't know that borotalco was so versatile!

Rosa · 05/05/2009 21:20

Oh Balls my set up with MN has gone all new fangled and funny I will have to re do as I can't work out when each post starts and ends ..how did I do that ?

Brangelina · 05/05/2009 21:21

No idea MM, am way behind in my reading. I'm reading White Tiger at the mo but I see you've already read that. I'm afraid I don't read half as much as I used to, not since the arrival of DD then the DS (as in Nintendo).

TheMysticMasseuse · 05/05/2009 21:23

LOL at DS Brange!

Rosa · 05/05/2009 21:24

Oh Lord must read before hitting return- I hope that dhs farts will not be so loud as to wake dd at 6.30 !!!!
I have just done an order from Amazon but it is from a couple of different shops and I am up to £100 ....maybe I better sleep on it
Notte.....................

OP posts:
Brangelina · 05/05/2009 21:24

Lol at your DD1 waking up from your DH's farts. Luckily my DD is immune or we'd have ahd entirely sleepless nights from day 1. They do wake me up, though. I've been known to wake up from deep sleep gagging after a particularly nasty bout.

He is now banned from eating those instance Chinese noodle meals bought from the Asian supermarket. Those were baaad.

francagoestohollywood · 05/05/2009 21:25

Wow Masseuse, I'm impressed by your energy.

One of my favourite light hearted books of the last few yrs has been Melissa Bank: The wonder spot.

Do they have to be in English? I suppose so eh?

francagoestohollywood · 05/05/2009 21:27

Lol at rosa's mils' pasta e fasoi

Brangelina · 05/05/2009 21:27

The "in her own way" was a snide reference to her only getting a D in French at A level despite extensive one-to-one coaching from me and the fact she actually read her literature books.

Actually, I'm just being smug.

TheMysticMasseuse · 05/05/2009 21:30

energy? not so much a case of energy, rather the opposite... i feel my life is soooo booring, kids, work, takeaway on friday night is the height of the week, not even the energy to watch a dvd... i really am trying to kick myself into a life.

Franca I like the sound of that book!!!

francagoestohollywood · 05/05/2009 21:31

brange.

Actually masseuse a book I'd like to discuss is Sophie's choice, but it certainly isn't "something light" .

francagoestohollywood · 05/05/2009 21:33

I really enjoyed it Masseuse, especially the first part. It's light, easy reading, but not scontato.
