Non sanno piu' cosa inventare

No, no operation, I should keep active and go for massages. Yeah, right.

The book looks very impegnativo mc cloud.

Sputnik · 04/05/2009 21:56

It's amazing isn't it how quickly yesterday's essential baby item becomes tomorrows clutter. We managed to offload our baby swing on some friends yesterday, hooray!

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 04/05/2009 21:57

it's true franca .

however anything that can give a mum with no help a minute of peace is in my mind a great invention .

DelGirl · 04/05/2009 21:58

quick hijack as I saw your name . Coming to Montasola on June 3rd for 10 days so hope we can meet up if you're not in Rome, or if you are . Has been manic since we've been back!!! Hope all is well with you and yours xx

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 04/05/2009 21:58

oh I've got loads of things to offload myself. I thought my friend was so generous to call me every day offering things for my dds. Now I now... you just want to see them out of the house asap!

francagoestohollywood · 04/05/2009 21:59

Gosh yes

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 04/05/2009 22:02

now I now?????

francagoestohollywood · 04/05/2009 22:03

see, I hate how the business profits on the nuclearization (sp?) of the family... if women/parents were less alone they wouldn't need the bloody bumbo!

Did I tell you that earlier, when I was putting the children to bed, I sneezed and peed myself?

Sputnik · 04/05/2009 22:03

Hi Delgirl
I will be around, don't think we'll be in Rome permanently til september now.

Yes I think my family would've gone without dinner many times if not for the baby swing!

francagoestohollywood · 04/05/2009 22:04

lol pippi

Sputnik · 04/05/2009 22:07

That's true Franca, however I think living in the busom of an extended family was/is probably not always that great either.

francagoestohollywood · 04/05/2009 22:14

god no. That wouldn't work either. Maybe friends. Some sort of commune, but less constrictive. Boh

Penthesileia · 04/05/2009 23:36

I didn't realise you were still suffering with the sore neck, franca. Poor you.

What's happened with bonjela? I missed that!

Yes, I finally caved and bought the book in English (although DH was - "You should read it in French". Yeah right - like I have time for that?)

I haven't read a lot recently: DD taking a long time to get to sleep in the evenings, which is tiring, so watching a lot of 4OD and Iplayer instead . Last read was a book about the Warsaw uprising.

LOL @ the bumbo as tool of evil capitalism!!!

Pelvic floor exercises, franca!!!!

Penthesileia · 04/05/2009 23:49

Oh yes, the house thing. I was momentarily livid - too bloody late to care about the traffic! But I think it was natural cold feet. We have, basically, taken on a house we can't really afford, so some hard decisions are going to have to be made, and we're lazy and disorgnised...

The noise isn't that bad anyway, IMO. I mean, it's noisy at particular times (e.g. rush hour), if you're "listening" to it, IYSWIM. I don't really notice it. DH is a sensitive soul, methinks...

Anyway, talking to myself now, I think. You are all sensibly in bed.

Night night everyone. Hope to catch you all up for a chat soon.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 05/05/2009 09:38

Franca I'm glad I'm not the only one!! I've started going to gym to strengthen core muscles....
Hence no baby no 3 - imagine what disasters could that bring.

Rosa · 05/05/2009 10:23

In my family we have a history of pelvic floor / bladder problems so for me it is a question of time !
Bumbo ...magari fai me sapere I bet it will be expensive to post though . I have sold 1 pushchair and am giving the other away. With teh baby clothes I am going to sell in thee autumn as most are ' cooler ' things then I can get my head round it mentally that they HAVE to go.
If I had age on my side, money and a decent house I would have a third but I dont have any of the afore mentioned so we will stick with 2 !

Rosa will check with post office today and let you know .

Camomilla · 05/05/2009 11:09

lol, franca, have my apt today at the clininc, the second class where they'll talk about aid implements (though already discussed and seen briefly last time) for pelvic floor exercising... I tell you, some leave you like this , especially what american ladies are given! and I'll be the youngest there by far again .... I think the youngest after me must be at least 20 years older, the rest are all in their 60s and 70s, if not 80s, so that's my reason for sticking to 2, though like pippi never say never (though if it happened, will definetly have to go for an elective cs)

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 05/05/2009 11:25

aid implements for pelvic floor exercising? sounds like torture....

no bumbo for me, thank you, dd likes to lie down in the same position and we are happy with that, she takes from me i think.

Have no intention of reading Les Bienveillants, have to stay away from grim literature. Am alternating between Checkvo's short stories and Persuasion, Damon made me want to read some more Austen, as much as I like to slag her off, I love her work. Very calming.

here is jane austen's desk!

francagoestohollywood · 05/05/2009 14:35

Penthe come back soon !!!

Gosh yes, I shouldn't have neglected my pelvic floor exercises. Every time I sneeze I fear the inevitable. I have a very violent cold, I wonder if it's an allergy thingy.

Jane Austin. I think I cannot stand her anymore. Don't know why. I surely enjoyed Sense and sensibility. It must be all those costume dramas.

Gosh I feel crappola with this cold. Uffaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Penthesileia · 05/05/2009 14:49

I am here! Been posting pearls of Latin wisdom on another thread.

Arggh. DD not napping unless latched on to me. Most inconvenient.

Penthesileia · 05/05/2009 14:50

Poor you with the cold.

Raw garlic clove is the trick, so my sister says. Just swallow it whole - you don't have to chew. I favour the juice of a whole lemon squeezed into hot water, with loads of honey.

francagoestohollywood · 05/05/2009 14:51

where? oh where? I have another 20 mins of freedom before picking up ds and take him to evil swimming pool (evil because it's very humid and my hair gets really big after the session...)
That is not that convenient. Can you type with one hand?

Pippi, any news from the schools?
