Did you keep going with the running McCloud?

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 29/04/2009 14:15

agree with sputnick, you have to keep at it! can be hard though.

well stopped during the easter holidays (any excuse really not to) and started again 2 days ago, I am happy if i get rid of the bulge and people stop wondering if i am preggers again.

Rosa · 29/04/2009 14:53

We found 1 and got all the carte going for mortgage etc the seller never found anything she wanted and we STUPID people waited for her . Next after more searching we found another and the commercialista gave us the wrong info so that went a monte. We then found another but the tax rate had gone up too much so it went out of budget. Another and the retauri were too much .....SO this time we have said we can pay XX a month how much will you lend us and so we start from that ...
Wraps - I will need a double sheet to cover me up ....I will end up making a kaftan out of a double duvet cover !

Hi there, felt a bit better this morning, thanks, a bit rauca, then DP had to go to get a part for the multipla so I thought I'd join in and go try the new panda, not bad deal with the incentives if I scrap my old faithful micra. at least the throat doens't seem to hurt as much though. but got home feeling rubbish again, finally had my espresso fix and feel better (just discovered DD loves espresso too... tale madre, tale figlia...). DD still all blocked though, another bad night til I gave her a small dose of paracetamol.

Rosa, I've noticed that since DD has started on her 3 meals a day my weight has suddenly dropped, I mean nearly 2 dress sizes in less than 2 months after being stable for nearly 6 months, same thing happened with DS, and you're doing way more exercising than me (since DP's doing 99% of the school run), so come June I'm sure you won't need that double duvet . but I really need to do some stomack and bum crunches... all that sagginess doesn't look good even if I'll manage to get into my old bikinis . just hope my boobs last a bit longer (they've already gone down a few sizes) so that I can actually fill the top of the bikini for once

francagoestohollywood · 29/04/2009 16:11

I got totally soaked again, while picking ds from school . What the hell?

The dc are both at friends, so I have 20 minutes of blissful mn before going to make meatballs for their dinner... as me and dh are going out tonight

Beaches, I have to say that I don't mind looking at young, slender bodies , I do have a problem with those spiagge un po' fighette full of people che se la tirano with obnoxious children

Oh gosh, house hunting I find very stressing, I agree rosa!

francagoestohollywood · 29/04/2009 16:12

Camo, I love Panda!

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 29/04/2009 16:38

I'm sure this is very MNet but finally I have managed to park dd2 in front of the telly (horrible lovely telletubbies) and she is relatively quiet bouncing on off chair watching it. It might not sound like it to you but here it is an achievement. She's never been interested in telly even when dd1 watches it. Ahhhh a bit of peace and quite and a sit down.

went to see first private. headmistress was like Crudelia Demon!! good things: small classes, hence more individual attention and a bit more facilities. Bad things: everything else, plus girls only from year 2. Really did not like the feeling of it. [vomit emoticon]

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 29/04/2009 16:39

very antiMNet, even

francagoestohollywood · 29/04/2009 17:07

Shame on you Pippi .

Oh dear, it doesn't sound that good, does it? Especially the crudelia demon headteacher

Camomilla · 29/04/2009 17:38

Pippi, that sounds like the RC school I told you about... even though they are "outstanding" according to ofsted (little children didn't look oustandingly happy to me though)

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 29/04/2009 17:42

Mind you you can see why they achieve the academic result they do - small classes, more money to source teachers and extras etc, I like that, who wouldn't. That I'd like. But you should have heard the way children in the classes said 'goodaaaaaafternnoooooooon Mrs De Mon' and looked when she came in ... gave you the creeps!

camo sorry I meant to say how shocked I was at you and your dp bringing parts of the ciao from italy. brilliant!

Rosa it must be your turn now, property wise.

Camomilla · 29/04/2009 17:56

that's what I mean, when we went to see the RC school, the kids really looked terrified (Y1) felt so sorry for them, and the way the head and the teacher spoke to and about this little crying girl in front of both her and us was really disgusting, plus they just bitched about the recetion teachers.. otoh, the school DS went to last year (nursery) had only satisfactory/good on the report (though constantly improving because of new head) but the teachers seemed to know everything about every pupil and the head wrote a personal comment on all the reports (big school too) and when I saw him always said s.thing about DS. if that school had been closer, it would have been our first choice probably.

I've had to bring back headlights for two (old) fiat 500s for FIL, pedals/chain covers/lights for the ciao and s.thing else I can't remember.... oh, yes, the exhaust too. but when it came to the engine I told DP he can go get it, not wasting weight/space I can use for biscuits/coffee/grana!

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 29/04/2009 18:24

LOL LOL LOL Camo!!!

Yes the head did not seem to know anything about the children and was not very good at dodging some questions. TBH in general I wouldn't expect the head to know every child but I would in a small private school that prize itself for that. I sound very much like BS on her private school thread. No way I'm going to post on AIBU.

McC this thread could help our case. Especially having seen how many private primaries there are around here. There are 4 within a mile. Fingers crossed.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 29/04/2009 18:26

btw both dds in bed already. One with temp after she played all day with friend and the other one just exhausted (not according to her - she just cried for 10 minutes before realising mamma has decided is bed time and that's it!)

DH home a bit later so... FREEEEEDOOOMMMM!!! (to tidy up and hopefull start Pride and Prejudice).

ups dd2 still complaining - che testa dura!

francagoestohollywood · 29/04/2009 18:58

Lets be honest Pippi, who wouldn't complain? . Seriously, is she gone off now? Don't waste time tidying up, put your feet up and get started with Pride and Prejudice ! I've decided to re read Cime Tempestose, it's been ages since I read it the first time. I might read it in english this time.

I made the most delicious meatballs, but the ungrateful children complained about them, only because I didn't tritato the onions thin enough

I agree, the head teacher of a small school should know all her pupils. The head teacher at ds's school in the UK did.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 29/04/2009 19:13

franca yes who wouldn't complain to go to bed con le galline? mind you they were both exhausted. she was hungry though so went and gave her some milk. evil mum gave them both latte e cereali for breakfast.... one of these days...

I want to re read wuthering hights too but doubt I ever willl before the kids leave home. It's lucky if I get to start a new one.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 29/04/2009 19:14

I'd love to make meatballs, I've got your recipe on my book ...

francagoestohollywood · 29/04/2009 19:22

latte e cereali sound like a very good breakfast ... or did you mean dinner?

Mine are going to bed now () as picked ds late from playdate today.

Off now, we are going to friends for dinner.

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 29/04/2009 19:36

agree our headteacher knows all the kids' names and is very warm, but scary wehn she needs to be. i think the super results are also down to the fact all the kids will come from fairly privileged backgrounds, so lots of support at home, tutoring probably, etc, i will send them some of ds' classmates, special needs, problems at home, bet they won't do that well, lol.

thank you for the text damon, feel a lot better.

not sure what is my plan for tonight, beside planting some spinach...

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 29/04/2009 19:39

i think she meant for dinner - my ds would not accept cereals for dinner, expects a proper meal. when really cannot be arsed i buy a tesco pizza, bang on some mozzarella and a TAVVVVOOOLA. But even making a pizza is sometimes a complete pain..

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 29/04/2009 19:40

oh I've got a pizza and dh left overs and then the apprentice. must try to do a wizz tidy up now though, bet I won't.

I'll email you McC.

Of course about the parenting support.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 29/04/2009 19:43

'But even making a pizza is sometimes a complete pain..'

exactly! I did buy a pizza for tonight but but but I could not be bothered to wait for the oven to heat and dd1 was moaning due to illness, dd2 was starving etc. Oh I gave them choices: pasta with pesto, egg and baked beans or milk and cereals. That's what dd1 chose. I bet dd2 would have ticked the 'for all of the above' box .

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 29/04/2009 19:53

oh god i read the thread you linked to. goodness that poor fishnet got slated....but gives you hope for sure....

are you going to visit the shit schools you may have to send her to? may be not so shit?

which questions did cd (cruella demon) dodge?

have not follwoed the apprentice, tried with the first episode but everybody looked so horrible, all that bad skin and all those cliches...infact i may have a peek, just for a bit. i love the old lady, Margaret.

Rosa · 29/04/2009 20:19

DD loves Cereals and latte most when I give her the chocolate ones and she can make chocolate milk !!!! ( how naughty mum am I ...but they are organic Coop ones!)
Meatballs Now thats something I haven't done for a while - dd used to like them as long as I did everything very fine. She is playing up now that minirosa is starting to eat and wanting me to feed her I ate a salad at 2.30 today and have just had dinner !
Camo are you still doing bf am / pm merenda or have you stopped all together?
Tonight she ate zucchini ( not burnt) with a bit of crema di riso ( brodo ) then she yelled when it was finished so she had half a pot of fruit as I had not cooked any followed by bf 30 mins later !!!! If she doesn't sleep all through the night I will be
Have anice night out Franca I am planning where dh and I will be going this summer ..when we have babysitters !!!

Camomilla · 29/04/2009 20:58

yes, pippi, it's worth having a look at the shitty school, as McC said they might not be so shitty, on paper where DS went to last year looked crap, but when I met all the staff they were so good, head just great (veeery nice indeed ) but firm with the kinds when needed, without terrorising them.

we often have cereali for dinner , when I'm just knackered, or when we've had a late big lunch... DS is like your DD1, Rosa, he loooooves the choc ones

Rosa, I'm bf morning/afternoon/bedtime still, quite happy til it lasts as the smell of formula makes me gag so if I can avoid it it's better, not sure though how long I'll carry on. I bfed DS morn/night til he was 11.5 mo (formula in aft), when there really was nothing coming out and DS wanted the bottle instead and because he left me prosciugata I thought this time I would have done 6 months only. but bf has gone better this time and haven't needed formula so far, plus being our last I feel a bit weird about not doing ever again IYKWIM...
