francagoestohollywood · 25/04/2009 21:47

oh and at the beach, of course

Dh and dd went to the manifestazione today.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 25/04/2009 21:53

sunflower I never dropped aft feed although formula after 5 months and not normal milk. Dd2 feeds when wakes up, around 3.30ish after aft nap and sometimes (rare now) before going to bed.

gio71 · 25/04/2009 22:12

went to santa marinella sputnik. We used to go to Ostia all the time but we are in north Rome plus near an overland station which has good links to the Lazio-Toscana line so have started going north to Santa Marinella/Santa Severa.
have just discovered the genius function on my itunes and am very excited. i have so much music but always listen to same albums-not any more!

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 25/04/2009 22:15

thanks, actually, thinking about it now (well, just remembered a pic of DS with his bottle after afternoon nap on the armchair) and he still had his aft feed definetly after he was 1. I think it's the fact that I was back at work by the time he was 5.5 months old and was mix-feeding that got me a bit confused... guess DD's struggling because of her cold .

Sputnik · 25/04/2009 22:20

Santa Marinella is where we always go in the summer too, it's the first decent place N. of Rome. In fact we were loking at houses there until I talked DH out of it! You must check out the Isola del Pescatore right at the end of the beach near the castle, it's really good with a great dessert menu (a bit £££ though).

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 25/04/2009 22:23

sunflower couldn't she be teething too? I think dd's 6th tooth will be out tonight as she woke up a few times and had to put gel on. she also has cough and cold poverina.

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 25/04/2009 22:31

could be pippi, she had a couple of runnier poos today and def very dribbly, plus she enjoyed playing with her dummy all aft, when she normally has it only to fall asleep.... gel is ready just in case, though there was no sign of anything when I checked... oh, not looking fwd to the teething business!

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 25/04/2009 22:33

I can only see the signs now because some came out so I know what and where to expect them. I had no clue with the first two teeth.

all the MN littleitaly's babies are teething at the same time.

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 25/04/2009 23:11

poor babies... off for tonight, buonanotte

McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 26/04/2009 08:54

Lovely Sat at Damon and Co.

Teething here too, dd up most of the early night, but luckily we always get to sleep in at the weekend....

francagoestohollywood · 26/04/2009 10:33

Forgot to say: wow at 15 english schools in rome, you are spoilt for choice !
But then there is also that great (or at least it was 30 yrs ago) statale liceo classico, what's its name? Am I planning ahead too much?

lol at the little italy babies teething at the same time, I wonder if we PMT at the same time, "all'unisono" to quote marrakesh express

francagoestohollywood · 26/04/2009 10:34

did you have a barbie at the damon's ?

Sputnik · 26/04/2009 10:39

Not really Franca, as most of them are too far away (and since were moving to shorten DH-s commute in the first place it would be pointless) and much more expensive than the ones we-re looking at.

My DS is on his last tooth, hooray!

francagoestohollywood · 26/04/2009 10:48

Yes, of course. You really don't want to move children around the traffic of a big city. It's one of the main reasons why we ruled out the english school here.

Hooray for master sput's last tooth! Did I tell you that ds lost his first tooth in the uk? He was shocked

Rosa · 26/04/2009 14:24

Just logging in quick as I am on a clear out of dd toys - I started unintentionally to make room for the ironing board and it has swelled to 2 plastic bags to chuck out and not done the ironing ( dd has no asilio clothes for domani ...She has had a growth spurt and so has 3 tracksuit trousers she has leggings but of course the weather is crappio again.)
DH at the fiera di electronica I have said he buys some crap I am buying either a girello or that bouncer thing. Got out SIL old girello toys are broken it won't bounce and so it is in a bin bag .........
Last year he bought a magic bullet (yes the one on the TV that chops everything ) ..:We already have the Miracle blade knives !!!!!
Teething oh what joy I have that to look foreward to as well .......Hope they are all ok and don't give them bonjela that article in the guardian was scary - I know it was for the big bonjela but still !!!
LOL to Gios suntan I will be gabbibo this summer I can see it happening !!!

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 26/04/2009 17:36

The miracle blade knives?? Do they work? I want them too!

It's raining a lot here . Took the dc to watch Aliens vs Monsters, which I thought was great, though dd was a bit scared.

francagoestohollywood · 26/04/2009 17:38

(in fact all our knives don't work anymore, I think I should have them rilamare)

Rosa · 26/04/2009 18:41

I have never tried to cut a tin in half with them to be honest !...IT was a joke when we got them !
I use the steak knives to cut everything and have never used the meat chopper thing !
We stick them in the dishwasher but you need to dry them off. I am not sure how long they will last think we have had them 2 years now . We also got given a set of sebattier ( SP big time) knives for our wedding thing is bewteen the handle and the blade the bit gets black and it drives me mad so I tend to stick to the miracle blade !!!
DH back he bought an Oregon weather thingy - we have one but this is more sophisticated some computer bits and a remote control helicopter not sure yet if it warrants a fisher price jumpy thingy will see !

OP posts:
McCloudismynewnameforawhile · 26/04/2009 19:53

A remote controlled helicopter? lol

Have just checked, the Guardian article points out that the Bonjela teething gel is not affected, only the gels for ulcers, phew.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 26/04/2009 19:56

rosa LOL at gabibbo and at elicottero.
I think it does justify it tbh. I've got one of those bujy door thingy. both dds did not use it enough to make it worthwile tbh. girello yes yes yes.

yes we had a bbq. great day. McC's family is lovely. Hope it was a nice 'country' day for them.

family went swimming today with both dds: dd2 wasn;t convinced at first but soon she started swimming all on her own with armbands. she loved it. what a palaver it is though. it can be done only with 2 of us.

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 26/04/2009 19:57

I've always used dentinox... as it seemes more effective. anyone knows of any problem with that one?

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 26/04/2009 20:56

McC I'm about to watch The Notebook. Dh said yes but he's already falling asleep watching boring his favourite top gear, so no hopethat bwill share a comment later. Who knows maybe he'll surprise me.

also this is Leeds Castle.

Forgot next weekend is bankholiday...yuppieee!!

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 26/04/2009 20:56

where are you all??? having a life?????

DamonBradleylovesPippi · 26/04/2009 21:03

he's asleep ...

TheMysticMasseuse · 26/04/2009 21:07

hheeelllooo pippi i watched the notebook last week. i thought the first half was fantastic, i could raelly feel the sexual tension between those two, and i loved the sparkly non soppy love story. plus the guy v cute i later found out they got together on set which explains the chemistry! not too sure about the rest, i couldn't stand the old people...

i think my dd2 is teething too. only she's been teething for about 500 years and my patience is starting to wear off. she's up most nights for a long time, che palle.

we've had a lovely weekend, sunshine makes all the difference no? yesterday i took dd1 to a party, older (5) girl from her nusery, it was fab, disco music etc dd1 thought she was in heaven!

so do you reckon we're all gonna get swine flu??!!!
