Dahlia · 08/04/2003 16:26

Lilibet- they were called Snorky, Bingo, Fleegle and Drooper.
Can't remember the name of the rival gang. We are talking a long long time ago here. I wa about 6 when I used to watch it! I hope you are impressed at my memory!!

SoupDragon · 08/04/2003 16:41

I think it was The Sour Grape Girls.

I don't remember, I found it on the website.

Nutjob · 08/04/2003 16:41

Wasn't it something like the Blackcurrants or the Blackberries? I remember it was 2 girls dressed in purple with guitars. They would open the door and they would come in and do that 'Lala, la, la la la la la lala' song!!

lilibet · 08/04/2003 16:48

this is brilliant! Its a question from an ex boyfriend in Norway. I can pretend I am so clever now!! Will I own up and admit that I asked you lot? Not a cat in hells chance!!!!

Does anyone remember The Double Deckers? Get on board, get on board, get on board with the double deckers!

OP posts:
Nutjob · 08/04/2003 16:57

I LOVED the Double Deckers, wasn't there a girl called Tiger, who used to carry a toy tiger around with her and a rather chubby lad called Donut or something?! As you can tell I am a complete saddo!!! Also, does anyone remember the English attempt at a version of the Banana Spilts called 'Animal Crackers@ or something?!!

NQWWW · 08/04/2003 17:07

Nutjob - as I have mentioned on other posts, my ex-boyfriend went to Uni with Tiger. This is probably the fact I have posted most often on this site - how sad is that?

Nutjob · 08/04/2003 17:11

Wow, how cool is that?!!

lilibet · 08/04/2003 17:28

Didn't one of them go one to be something quite big in tv? The double deckers not the banana splits!!

You must all be the same age as me! These were 2 of my favourite programmes when I was little.

Moomin · 08/04/2003 19:02

Look at This Site

grommit · 08/04/2003 19:21

Moomin - what memories! Barbapapa - just how bad was that?! Mr Ben was always my favourite

Furball · 08/04/2003 19:27

I too am of that era, what great fun we had as kids.

I loved watching 'I love the 70's' a few years back, all those really naff things like chopper bikes and space dust. 'Jackie', 'Blue Jeans' and 'My Guy' Magazines how great were they?

It always seemed sunny in the summer holidays too.

Have a look at This to get the TV memories going.

Clarinet60 · 08/04/2003 20:07

Wow Moomin, thanks. Children Of The Stones! Hector's House! What a great link! (God, I feel old ..)

soyabean · 08/04/2003 20:38

There was an older girl on Double Deckers, called Billie if I'm not mistaken. I wanted her for my older sister. She was very cool. It was my fave TV programme too, and those girls with the guitars on banana splits, wow, groovy.

lilibet · 08/04/2003 20:44

I remember Jackie - used to love Cathy and Claire. Oh were my life so simple now than it was in the days when I thought Andy Pandy was real. I loved Mary Mungo and Midge too.

Lilibet, another good site to look at about kids tv programmes is www.sausagenet.co.uk

Furball · 08/04/2003 21:42

Or theres this one as well

Rhiannon · 08/04/2003 21:43

I was the No.1 fan of Little House on the Prairie, I remember racing home from school to watch it every Thursday. I was always fascinated that two of the girls were called Melissa.

There was a moral every time. I always remember Nelly in the wheelchair being pushed down a big hill as she could really walk!

Furball · 08/04/2003 21:45

And this

Furball · 08/04/2003 21:49

This one has sound as well for some parts.

Dh and I laughed listening to some, especially the misc stuff under Z.
