How many threads is this now?

OP posts:
oggsdog · 07/03/2009 15:21

I do need to see it you know. Have you enjoyed knitting it?

Berrie · 07/03/2009 16:06

Nowt to see yet really. I do enjoy it but nowadays I just listen to Tv rather than watch it.

oggsdog · 07/03/2009 16:29

I'm the same. I was buggered the other night when dh was watching a subtitled film

Berrie · 08/03/2009 11:27

Oggs

Today we are having friends to lunch, it's all ready to go. I can't remember what time I told them to come but am asuming I said one.
We dug a new bed on the allotment yesterday. It's an orchard so the first job was to remove the turf. Dh dug it off and I made a turf sofa with it. My back is now shockingly painful though not in the kind of spasm that imobolises me.

Berrie · 08/03/2009 11:37

Try my new place for putting pictures for you to see, not private but easier

oggsdog · 08/03/2009 15:21

That's great. You really do have an eye for a good photograph .

What did you have for lunch? We're having brisket tonight - it's in the oven and smells gorgeous.
I'm knackered today and really looking forward to my bath and book tonight.

I fuelled my DT/Dr Who obsession last night with a purchase from Ebay

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 08/03/2009 17:34

What did you buy from Ebay? Or is it too rude to tell us? The good news is that DT is doing part of Comic Relief on Friday. I just don't know which part, so you'll have to sit through all of it.

Berrie, I mis-read your post and I thought it said you were knitting body bags.

Lyra, somehow I can't picture you in Primark. Don't know why!

And more importantly, where were you all on Friday night, eh?! I sat up and waited and waited... all on my own. Still, I guess it meant I had all the gin and the duvet to myself. Yes, they have the world's most comfortable bed. Offical.

Berrie · 08/03/2009 18:58

The tree was just a test. I can now proudly show you my knitting!

Berrie · 08/03/2009 18:59

You will see that the strap is waaaaay too wide.

oggsdog · 08/03/2009 19:04

So you went on Fri night?? I think we all thought you were there on your actual Birthday.

You'll have missed DT then. I sent him there on the Thurs

I bought a 5.5" action figure of him as Doctor Who Now I can carry him around with me

oggsdog · 08/03/2009 19:12

That's brilliant Berrie. I love the colours of the variegated yarn; I've got some just like that .

You could always fold the strap in half.

So what next?

Berrie · 08/03/2009 19:56

Oggs, that is very very sad.

Berrie · 08/03/2009 19:57

Don't know...need to see how bag turns out...then I shall study your book in more detail.

oggsdog · 08/03/2009 20:11

I know. I think I may have a problem. Is there a cure d'you reckon?

Berrie · 08/03/2009 20:26

No...you are doomed.

oggsdog · 08/03/2009 20:39

At least I'm happy in my obsession.

When you going to join Ravelry?

Berrie · 08/03/2009 20:54

Er...when I feel like a proper knitter I expect. it's odd. I can't seem to stop, row after row. I'm desperate to finish it but then I won't have anything to knit! Have run out of wool again tonight so must dash to shop again tomorrow.

oggsdog · 08/03/2009 21:12

D'oh! You are a proper knitter you nutter.

You are knitting thus you are a knitter.

Honestly come join in. It's for everyone who knits/crochets. However good you are. You can learn loads. Promise. Just try it.

LyraSilvertongue · 08/03/2009 22:46

Zeb, in 2008 I only bought clothes from Primark (apart from my Boden sale splurge).
I thought you were going to the hotel on Thursday too. Doh.
On the holidays front, we've decided to ditch Sicily and go for a week's boating on the Norfolk Broads instead .
As I can't bear the idea of not getting out of the country at least once this year, I'm taking the boys (on my own! ) to Sardinia for a week in the Easter holidays. I'm just about to book a cheap shack on a campsite.

LyraSilvertongue · 08/03/2009 22:48

Reason for ditching Sicily being saving money to spend on the money pit house.

Oggs, Berrie's right, carrying DT around in your pocket is very sad . Do you take him out every so often and gaze at him? Maybe give him a little kiss?

Berrie · 09/03/2009 07:43

Link to Sardinian 'shack' Lyra.

I've been looking at tents in Sardinia, let me know if you find cheap flights.

Berrie · 09/03/2009 07:44

Done a fair bit of boating in my time too. What sort of boat are you looking at?

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 09/03/2009 08:28

I think Oggs has a problem. And hoping that it's not anatomically correct! (And did you finish watching Blackpool yet? I bet it improved on you )

Can we all come to Sardinia with you Lyra? Although I'm really really impressed that you'll take them all on your own. And I'm currently getting all my stuff from Primark, New Look and TK Maxx Designer? Pah!

As for the knitting. You are ALL knitters, except me. I have tried. Honestly. But it really does my back in.

Oh, and please cross everything today. I have a lunch/interview where I'm trying to convince someone that he really really needs to employ me for the unique skills and knowledge I can bring to his company.

Berrie · 09/03/2009 09:19

Oh good luck Zeb!

Does knitting really do your back in? Am in agony today and have just raided the medicine cupoard for all back pain pills. Trouble is I can't remeber which I shouldn't take with which. I know the codine makes me feel sick so have settled on some diclofenac and paracaetamol. hadn't thought the knitting might do it? Was that a joke?

LyraSilvertongue · 09/03/2009 12:01

I have found cheap flights with Ryanair - £240 for the four of us (I booked a flight for DP too just in case he can come with us). They seem to have lots of nice campsites in the area we're flying to (Alghero) and all the reviews I've read say the beaches in the area are stunning.
I've enquired about availability at La Mariposa campsite where the villini (shacks) cost about 400 euros a week in April.
