How many threads is this now?

OP posts:
ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 28/03/2009 14:25

Hello ladies. . I'm now in my new house and totally knackered. So my priorities are to make sure tv works for Robin Hood tonight, and my pc so I can make sure I've got email. Phew. Both work.

So I'll be off to the grog shop in a minute for a celebratory bottle of something and hopefully food which doesn't require cooking.

When I find my camera, I'll post a picture of my view. And it's soooo quiet again, compared to the flat. Ahhhh.

Oh, and bags a copy of the Twilight dvd - can it be emailed or is it a post jobby?

RIP Charlie and Hurrah for Custard.

Berrie · 28/03/2009 16:38

Congratulations on your new home Zeb!

Sigh not much of last book left

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 28/03/2009 18:32

Thank you very much. Cheers! Lovely fizz. And thanks for the sugar, much appreciated!

[Zeb disappears off to try to find where on earth the vase might be buried.]

I just can't find the stopcock so am a bit without water.

oggspocket · 28/03/2009 19:10

Congratulations Zeb!

Have you plumped for Robin Hood over Primeval? They overlap don't they? We had to decide which to ask my mum to tape and dh decided on Primeval.

Rats! and Rats! again. I'm being confounded in my quest to read this sodding book. I went to the big library - no luck, so decided I'd go for the Tesco 2 for £7 offer after all.
Drove across town only to find it was out of stock! Bah!

Gawd Lyra that's lot of money raised . Our PTA raises about £300 a year.

EdwardCullensWife · 28/03/2009 20:52

Congrat Zeb. Glad it's all over?
Oggs, yes it's a lot but the playground is big and eeds a complete refurb. I spent too much last night but drink had been taken
Berrie, are you loving or hating book 4? I have to say it's my least favourite because of all the weirdness, apart from the blissful first part up until Bella finds out you-know-what.

EdwardCullensWife · 29/03/2009 02:31

I just finished wtching the film (Yikes! Is that the time?)
I downloaded it in the end because my brother was taking too long to burn it to a disc. It came complete with Swedish subtitles.
It was very good but I still think Robert Pattinson is the wong man for th job. He looked like he was in pain/about to cry most of the time. Hardly the perfect Edward of the books. And he was a bit wooden. Not a great actor. Everybody else was great imo.
Must go to bed. I'm going to regret this in the morning...

Berrie · 29/03/2009 10:56

Oggs you'd have the book from me by now if I was mobile.

I've not quite finished it yet. It's definitely the most put downable of the lot. Twilight is the best one followed by the third for me. Edward never has the same magic as in Twilight.

oggspocket · 29/03/2009 11:08

How exactly does a silent auction work?
Do you all write your bids in secret and at the end the highest wins? How do you bid without everyone seeing the bids?

How's your back Berrie? You must be so fed up with it. Started on your heart yet?

Lyra, how's the head?

Zeb, how was your first night in your new pad? What was Robin Hood like? How was the new Tuck?

Berrie · 29/03/2009 13:08

Back is terrible. I think I need to see the Doctor again tomorrow but we are not sure how. DH really needs to be at work tomorrow but he doesn't want to leave me incapacitated like this and we also don't know how we are going to get the children to school and back.

Berrie · 29/03/2009 13:08

Got no wool.

EdwardCullensWife · 29/03/2009 13:47

Head's fine Oggs. I wasn't drinking. I did too much of that the night before.
It wasn't a silent auction, just a regular one with lots and people sticking their hand in the air to bid. As a fundraiser it's a great idea but we don't do it every year.

EdwardCullensWife · 29/03/2009 13:49

Now I've got to take DSs to a birthday party on the other side of town and DP has taken the car to work so we'll have to walk/take the bus.

Berrie · 29/03/2009 17:08

I've fiiiiinished...
Not sure the next films will be able to be as faithful to the books.

EdwardCullensWife · 29/03/2009 17:20

And your verdict? Stephenie Meyer doesn't think they'll be able to make Breaking Dawn into a film because of R. Might be a bit difficult to recreate.

Berrie · 29/03/2009 18:23

I'm not sure it's worth a film to be honest. I don't think she managed to recreate the same magic that Twilight has.

oggspocket · 29/03/2009 19:01

Does the film Twilight just represent the first book á la Harry Potter or is it like A Series of Unfortunate Events in that the film is a sort of amalgam of a few of the books?

EdwardCullensWife · 29/03/2009 20:10

Just like HP oggs. 1 book = 1 film.
What am I gonna do now? Anyone care to recommend me another book they love?

Berrie · 29/03/2009 22:22

Oh I know it's just too sad.

EdwardCullensWife · 30/03/2009 07:52

What's everyone doing today? I'm working from home and looking around at he tip that is my house thinking I should just blow it up and start again.
Zeb, how's the new pad? Have you started reading 4 yet?

EdwardCullensWife · 30/03/2009 07:53

I think I might download some HP films. I've only seen the first 2.

EdwardCullensWife · 30/03/2009 07:58

Some eye candy to brighten up your morning

Berrie · 30/03/2009 08:10

Today I am mostly going to be screaming.

Berrie · 30/03/2009 08:11

Blondes don't really do it for me (sorry dh]

Berrie · 30/03/2009 08:12

Going to ring for a home visit in a mo...do you think they will come?

EdwardCullensWife · 30/03/2009 08:28

I hope so. Fingers crossed for you.
