Yes Rosa, it makes sense! maybe that's why I used to have good pelvic floor (so was quite at nurse yesterday), having sucked my thumb til I was 9 only stopping as I had to wear night braces!

the trampoline could be a problem after having DS though not always , and I just love it too...

francagoestohollywood · 28/01/2009 08:49

Lol lol Sputnik. Sue them! You know that every single day my line (the internet and the telephone) doesn't work for at least half an hr? Evil Fastweb .

francagoestohollywood · 28/01/2009 09:00

Forgot to say that the most boring books I read for ds were Thomas the Tank Engine... He also went through a stage when I had to make up stories about TTTE at bedtime . That was hard.
Have to go now, ciao!

Rosa · 28/01/2009 11:10

We have fastweb and have no problems---touch wood !
DD1 like Thomas to be honest but we have the shortened version books not the full length original ones - I bought them off another mnetter - great bargain . But making stories up about him I would be stuck ! DD1 also into Cars and goes round saying ciao ciao ( with zoom in it IYKWIM). Horror after the doc the other day dh let her choose a book and she picked Pimpa ( AHHHHHHHHHH)
So far minirosa no reaction to jab apart from being so very grumpy yesterday evening. BUt she did have a good sleep.
Gotta go still in pjs and dh on way back with dd1 ( I have been cleaning tidying though saint emotion)

francagoestohollywood · 28/01/2009 12:25

. What do you hate about Pimpa? I find it so full of imagination, is that it (I do see it is a bit "lisergico" )? Or the drawings?
Glad to hear minirosa hasn't suffered too much from the jabs . What is the weatehr like there? It has improved a bit here, still too cold for my tastes though.

Have to go and take dd to swimming lessons. It's very hot and humid in the pool, I always leave with extremly crazy hair

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 28/01/2009 13:39

hi everyone, quick question, how would you translate "lecchino"? (not rude slang, though, it's for friend's students...)

francagoestohollywood · 28/01/2009 15:46

No idea!!!

Sputnik · 28/01/2009 16:48

Me neither. What is it?

Bucharest · 28/01/2009 16:53

creep.

It's a teacher's pet sort of person isn't it?
If you can't go for ar$e licker, go for creep!

We have thankfully almost grown out of Thomas, although for a good year or more dd's imaginary friend (and the "person" who did anything naughty in the house) was Donald the Scottish engine (who was a girl, acc to dd.)

Back later!

francagoestohollywood · 28/01/2009 17:04

Lol at your dd's imaginary friend bucharest !

francagoestohollywood · 28/01/2009 17:04

I didn't know that creep could also stand for lecchino

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 28/01/2009 17:19

Thanks, I could only think of rude ones!! Just had a half-sleep trying to get dd to sleep in the living room with DS watching the incredibles (coming down with s.thing and really can't be asked with anything, luckily made huge cottage pie last night and plenty for tonight)

DS blames his imaginary friends (Tom and Lisa) for things he does. they live under the house but you need to get a plane to get there . Also, Tom started off as a dog, then he was a boy dressed as a dog and now he's just a boy, and sometimes they're his other mummy and daddy... oh, they've got a big brown car

francagoestohollywood · 28/01/2009 20:20

Sunflower!

PippiCalzelunghe · 28/01/2009 20:33

pippi new swimming self feels sooooooo fit and gorgeous!!!!

sunflower your ds is sweet!

francagoestohollywood · 28/01/2009 20:36

Have just emailed you pippi

Today I had a lezione omaggio di Pilates. I love it. I wonder how ethic it'd be to splash other money on 10 lessons...

PippiCalzelunghe · 28/01/2009 20:43

very ethical. don't they tell you in italy that the only way to save us from the evils of recession is to spend spend spend???? go and buy them asap. not only you are going to have the body of a goddess but also you're going to perform a pious act for the benefit of all humankind!!

convinced?

francagoestohollywood · 28/01/2009 20:49

mmmm not sure... it's what Berlusconi goes on about the whole time, trying to convince us to buy cars. As much as I love FIAT (I wrote my dissertation about FIAT, so I kind of have soft spot for the company, despite the quality of its cars) they can't expect us to change cars every 2 yrs, vero??? Our multipla is nearly 10 yrs old.

francagoestohollywood · 28/01/2009 20:51

but yeah, 10 pilates lessons are deffo more ethical than buying a new car...
I feel guilty. I would also love to afford permanent depilation. So that i could use the swimming pool...

beforesunrise · 28/01/2009 20:52

hello.... Pippi sent me here (I am being rubbished on another thread so hoping to find sanctuary).

it all seems very well established so can somebody tell me what this is all about? I am italian but live in the UK- or is this a thread for the other way round (english mums living in Italy)?

anyway- nice to meet you all!

PippiCalzelunghe · 28/01/2009 21:01

I'm glad you came, sunny (that's the only good thing that came out of that thread IMO. I cannot believe you've been rubbished like that).

It's a thread for anybody anywhere with something italian somewhere (even some olive oil in the cupboard will do! )

I'm italian living in london with two dd.

francagoestohollywood · 28/01/2009 21:02

Hello beforesunrise, what happened to you?
I like the idea of this being a sanctuary
We have Italian women living in the UK and English women living in Italy. We just chat and moan, occasionally.
Where are you from?
I'm from Milan. We used to live in Devon. We aren ow in Italy again.

PippiCalzelunghe · 28/01/2009 21:06

yes chat occasionally and moan constantly! at least me!

I'm in london.

PippiCalzelunghe · 28/01/2009 21:12

Penthesileia · 28/01/2009 21:18
