Don't exactly need it and it hasn't got a hood but I've been after a corduroy coat for ages. Tried it on today and I really like it (they have it in a darker brown than this picture - nicer than the one shown). Only problem is we are skint (as per) and dh may kill me...

Pruna coat

I really like it. If it's a good fit and if it's lined, I'd go for it!

sweetmonkey · 30/03/2005 14:22

tis very nice!! couldnt you hide it in cupboard and when you do wear it say that yuve had it ages

Twiglett · 30/03/2005 14:23

Twiglett · 30/03/2005 14:24

you'll get static electricity when you swing your arms

and baby food will get caught in the lines

you will look like a tramp within 5 minutes

laneydaye · 30/03/2005 14:24

marthamoo · 30/03/2005 14:25

I like corduroy! It hasn't got elbow patches or anything like that!

And it is a good fit, and I'm pretty sure it was lined - yes it definitely was.

sweetmonkey - there is a limit to how many times I can do that !

you can hear the voices in your head saying.....buy it.... buy it.....

marthamoo · 30/03/2005 14:26

The one I would buy is darker brown - less overally.

OP posts:
hamster · 30/03/2005 14:26

It's nice...just beware that-rain+corduroy=material resembling cardboard

laneydaye · 30/03/2005 14:27

think id be chuffed with either.....

northerner · 30/03/2005 14:28

Tis a no from me too.

PMSL at caretakers overall all But I agree!

Twiglett · 30/03/2005 14:31

I suppose if you buy it and don't wear it you could always cut it up to use as elbow patches on a nice tweed jacket

Twiglett · 30/03/2005 14:32

you would also have to avoid holidaying in redwood forests in the dry season

after all you wouldn't want to be responsible for starting a forest fire now would you?

marthamoo · 30/03/2005 14:33

OK now I just want people who will tell me to buy it

OP posts:
Blu · 30/03/2005 14:33

oooh, I think it's fab!

And, damn you, Marthamoo, might get one!

Not expensive, either. Can you get it on your M%S card?

laneydaye · 30/03/2005 14:33

treat yourself.......

Twiglett · 30/03/2005 14:35

Please don't get upset Moo

I'm just old enough to remember owning a pair of pink, flared cords

have hated corduroy ever since

you buy it dearie, hang the forest fires

marthamoo · 30/03/2005 14:39

I'm not upset

And I have a pair of pinkish, flared cords...

OP posts:
lou33 · 30/03/2005 14:40

i love corduroy

buy it moo

lou33 · 30/03/2005 14:40

i have a pair of blue cords and a pair of toffee coloured ones

pinotgrigio · 30/03/2005 14:42

Hmm. It is a bit caretakery, I have to agree. BUT, it could be saved by what you wear with it (apart from baby food that is).

Trainers - definite no. Boots with a heel and well cut jeans, perhaps.

Yes! I like that. I say go for it.
