Hi Pruners

I too found 2-4 horrific, 4-5 has been much more...reasonable! Thank the lord.

This year, we have found a nice new flat,
I've found a bit of romance,

that's it really. Good stuff.

artichokes · 11/12/2008 18:04

I got a big promotion and pay rise and I got pregnant with DC2 .

SnowOfHands · 11/12/2008 18:05

Nice little house in the country. DH started a job he was made for. DD is blossoming into a lovely little person (although not 2 yet so I read this thread with nervous laughter not far away). Lost 2 stones. Became a SAHM.

Doodle2U · 11/12/2008 18:07

We got chickens this year (back in May) and they've proved to be fabber than a fab thing having a fab day - seriously, everyone should get some

thumbElf · 11/12/2008 18:10

DS had a hernia op aged 7weeks - him coming through that with no probs was one of my highlights.

Being able to work from home when my mat leave was up so I didn't have to put DS into childcare - that was a good thing too.

Just having DS really - as it's his first year, it's all been wonderful!

notevenamousie · 11/12/2008 18:11

DD is doing great despite everything. I never expected my mum to see this christmas yet she will be here with my DD and I for a week over new year and I am really looking forward to that. I have been told unexpectedly by a senior colleague that I am "s**t hot" in an emergency situation!

JustKeepSingingCarols · 11/12/2008 18:12

Had DS2 (though not a HB, an em c-s but hey...)

Lost nearly 2 stone (so far)

DH bought me a new laptop

We finally got some little jobs done on the house and some bigger ones too

that'll do for now!

DisasterArea · 11/12/2008 18:14

I got a job and started having driving lessons,.

eekareindeer · 11/12/2008 18:25

My youngest child started reception. He is a September baby so it seemed a long wait but now, after 7 years as a SAHM, I have really appreciated the child-free time and have head space to think about what I might do for myself now.

I gave up smoking.

I also declared I would give up drinking for six weeks - and I did, I have, but tonight, December the 11th, is the end of that 6 weeks, and I am now drinking a delicious glass of pinot! Cheers .

nuttygirl · 11/12/2008 18:31

Started my own business, came off the AD's and got a BFP

UnfortunatelyMe · 11/12/2008 18:32

DD1 passing her 11 plus was the highlight of my year.
Life needed

scorpio1 · 11/12/2008 18:34

I had a hb, had my first daughter after 2 boys, got married. Money has been good this year. We went abroad as a family. ds2 got discharged from SALT.

Have had a little marriage shake up in the last couple of months, but that is healing.

TheSeriousSanta · 11/12/2008 18:36

I had my DS. Highlight of the year

MerlinsBeard · 11/12/2008 18:39

This year i have moved from a tiny grotty rat infested 2 bed flat into a 3 bed detached house, got married, had DS3, lost 2 stone (but its currently 1.5 stone as i can't seem to resist crisps)

LaTurkey · 11/12/2008 18:41

Had DD on Jan 1st! Best start to a year ever. Yay!

DH gave me a lie-in this morning! Yay!

LaTurkey · 11/12/2008 18:43

p.s. pruners. hope your health is improving now.

CatchaChristmasStar · 11/12/2008 18:50

Moved into, decorated and furnished my own flat, got my studies sorted out so that I start year 2 of my degree in January, watching dd grow into an amazing little girl, and feeling very proud to be a young, single mum that's managed.

Having said all of that, the little dear that is dd has just tipped her chicken stir fry all over my living room floor, has broken my tv today and I've been in tears more than once as a result of her slowly destroying the flat that I spent months on decortaing and furnishing. I'm a nervous wreck and she's going to bed very sodding soon for the sake of my own sanity.

The good and the bad go hand in hand eh.

Bienchen · 11/12/2008 18:59

I got married and have become self-employed.

I have some happy clients, too .

Dropdeadfred · 11/12/2008 19:03

We have lost alot of money in a bad business deal, we have moved house twice, i had an ectopic in May which resulted in emergency surgery and the loss of a tube followed by a mc at 7 weeks ...BUT in August i married my DH and it was the happiest day of my life and I love him and my three girls to bits and I know I am lucky!!

OrmIrian · 11/12/2008 19:06

DS#1 started and settled well at secondary school. Is doing very well. School also judged 'outstanding' recently.

DS#2 and DD's school out of special measures. Both doing well.

Pulled myself out of pit of depression and anxiety that I had been in for ages thanks o citalopram.

Lost weight and got fitter through running. Slimmer than I've been since I was at uni.

Relationship with DH improving.

Back to full-time work and loving it.

Money situation still not great but OK. Still need/want to move house but haven't a hope.

Pinkchampagne · 11/12/2008 20:03

Celebrated a year of being in my own house, celebrated a year of being with my lovely DP, my dad finally met my DP after saying he would never accept another man I go out with, and my sister & BIL also met him for the first time. Had 3 lovely weekends away.

MissisBoot · 11/12/2008 20:18

We had our first family holiday and I got a brilliant job!

cyLENTeeNIGHT · 11/12/2008 20:25

I had my wonderful, perfect son (pictures on profile ) after a lovely, easy pregnancy. Last year was the shittest year of my whole life and unbearable pretty much start to finish, but having my son has made me start to heal again and that is scary and amazing

Hope your health is on the up, Pruners
