Maybe she's overtired, overexcited? Ds watched surf's up yesterday for the first time. Obviously he decided he wants to be a surfer. Got so excited that it took him 2 hrs to fall asleep !

The funny thing is, DD used to be one of those perfect sleeping children, she's always pretty much slept through (but gets up too early). Now she's become all nocturnal.

francagoestohollywood · 22/01/2009 20:57

at your friend!
6.30??? that's not even evening!!!

Brangelina · 22/01/2009 20:58

I do think it's accumulated tiredness, but I wonder if the fact she was often up later than usual in the holidays has taken its toll andher sleep patterns have irrevocably changed? Oh what horror!

Brangelina · 22/01/2009 20:59

My sis puts hers to ed at 6.30 but then she doesn't get a nap in the day. If I did that I'd never live

francagoestohollywood · 22/01/2009 20:59

Don't worry Brange, here the average bedtime seems to be at 10.30

6.30 sounds too extreme to me. What time is her bedtime?

OP posts:
Brangelina · 22/01/2009 21:08

8.30ish. It used to be 8-8.30 but I've found the whole preparation for bed bit now takes so much longer, with me counting to 5 to get her to do things. I find it exhausting.

DP's friends' DC go to bed at 11, basically when their parents to. They have no life. I need my cut off time, plus DD always talks over the telly so that's no good for when I want to watch CSI or whatever.

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 22/01/2009 21:12

DS used to have a nap in the afternoon until he started mursery last year. so it wasn't too bad. but now, there's no way he comes home at 3.30 and goes to bed! that's another problem with starting school so early... we normally eat at 6.30, on the days I've got food ready that is!

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 22/01/2009 21:13

rarely we managed to get him to bed at 7.30, but otherwise it's more 8-8.30

hothell · 22/01/2009 21:15

i am fine, my january blues have gone i think already, and feel pretty happy. our dd is a great sleeper so that makes a huge difference to how i feel. lol at her being a pecora.
still cannot work out the name of the citta. what are the 2 and 3rd letters? sorry, thick in geography.
almost wrote on a thread about private or grammar school education, a lady is wondering if she should spend 80 grand on kid's education or get it for free at a grammar. lol! anyway did not write after all...but lol, 80 grand!

Brangelina · 22/01/2009 21:15

She's asleep now, at last! It took me shouting at her to get her to stop being silly. She's going to be so tired tomorrow morning. I do wonder if she's been having longer naps at school, before she was always tired at the end of the day now she seems less so.

hothell · 22/01/2009 21:16

lol, you cannot watch csi with a 3 year old. there always seems to be a dead nakedish lady in it.

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 22/01/2009 21:18

Hot, my cousing is from Torre del Lago Puccini, in provincia di...

hothell · 22/01/2009 21:18

had to stop naps at 3 for ds as otherwise he woul go to sleep at 9 or 930, a real pain.

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 22/01/2009 21:18

cousing? cousin!!

Brangelina · 22/01/2009 21:19

Here's the link, about halfway down. così facciamo prima.

DD doesn't mind the naked ladies, just notices the boobies. I'm not keen on severed body parts though. One girl in her class stays up and watches violent(ish) thrillers until really late and is always talking about shooting people and lots of blood everywhere. I was quite shocked.

hothell · 22/01/2009 21:20

ohhhhh, pissing myself laughing!!!!!! at what point i thought you meant Livorno!!!!

Penthesileia · 22/01/2009 21:20

I am confused by all the mysterious town and baby names? Is someone trying to call their son Lucca (with double c???)???

Brangelina · 22/01/2009 21:20

Lol Sunflower, I would never had known where Torre del Lago was!

Brangelina · 22/01/2009 21:21

Lol at Livorno! I hadn't thought about the other Tuscan L town!

Spot on Penthe.

Penthesileia · 22/01/2009 21:21

x-post! will read thread...

hothell · 22/01/2009 21:22

i always think those women on csi look soooo old, all made up, with the hair and everything but they are closer to the mid40s than the mid30s they want us to believe!

hothell · 22/01/2009 21:23

oh penthe, penthe, penthe, we are planning a meet up in Lucca, or maybe Livorno.

Brangelina · 22/01/2009 21:24

Yes, they're far too perfect for public employees. You'd have to be old to do that job, yet have perfect eyesight to spot that miniscule fragment of pubic hair from across the room. Maybe they're all bionic?
