Benvenuti, ciao hello

OP posts:
Sputnik · 13/01/2009 13:33

I was wondering why they asked me the other day if I wanted to do the trivalente.

francagoestohollywood · 13/01/2009 13:37

I don't think the trivalente (mmr) has ever been obbligatoria. Or am I wrong? It is in the list of the recommended vaccinations in the ministero website. Boh!

OP posts:
Sputnik · 13/01/2009 13:52

You are probably right Franca. I just do the lot anyway.

Brangelina · 13/01/2009 13:53

Are vacs really no longer obbligatorie? They made such a song and dance about it when DD was tiny, even gave me the esavalente insted of just the obbligatorie without my permission. It's a bit that Berlusca is choosing public health to save money, although you must ahve them for nursery and school. Does that mean you now have to pay for them?

I never got the trivalente done as they wanted to do it the same day as the 3rd shot of the esavalente and I thought it a bit much. Am not convinced about the MMR anyway, but I can't find any info about single vaccines. Asked pediatra but she doesn't know and consultorio here don't offer them.

Rosa, I'll try and find a link or ask my colleague, as he flew back from Verona to Newquay this summer. I remember he had to fly into Bergamo on the outbound flight though, but that might have been because of where he was leaving from.

Hot, when I was looking for campsites last summer, a lot of those in the south were quite expensive (in Puglia anyway). In the end DP did a private deal via a classified ad on Kijiji and we got a really cheap apartment.

Lol at the campeggio libero and rolling into the sea in your knickers. I once did a campeggio libero in Greece, only to find the next day that it was a nudist beach. I remember being quite at being greeted with long haired Germans with flourescent sunblock on their willies. It was quite cool though, on a nudist beach you don't have to worry about how well your bikini line is waxed.

francagoestohollywood · 13/01/2009 15:27

Lol Brangelina. That beach was indeed populated by middle aged nudist germans. Mind you, all my friends there were enjoying the naturism bit. I still remember one of them greeting me on my arrival. He was naked, but wearing his trainers . I kept to my knickers though!

look at what I found! They are still obbligatorie everywhere apart from Veneto as rosa said. I wonder why!?

OP posts:
Brangelina · 13/01/2009 15:39

Probably cooked up by the mayor of Treviso to avoid paying for immunising bimbi extracomunitari or something. How weird though.....

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 13/01/2009 15:50

weird... see that they also do them later than UK... 3rd and last lost (for now) tomorrow.. last time DD started crying as soon as she saw the nurse, hopefully it'll be better...

btw, you can see plenty of tourists in Caorle wearing very little so they might as well go to a nudist beach (ofter fluo gree or orange or yellow perizoma, and that's the guys!)

Rosa · 13/01/2009 16:35

How very strange - i would have thought it should be an Italia wide thing not just in Veneto - Mind you the infermiera was saying that there is one optional vaccine I think the one for cervical cancer she said something with a P that at the moment is free in the Veneto but payable elsewhere in Italy ... minirosa was pooing at theat moment so I did not really listen. I am one that does as I am told re vaccinations so tend to do them all.
But I wanted the mmr as single but they do not do them here .

Brangelina · 13/01/2009 16:51

So do you have to pay for them then? Odd that they justified it with the HPV being free. Like you're going to be vaccinating your newborn with that.

Does Minirosa poo really loudly then?

Rosa · 13/01/2009 18:02

Yep she does and at the mo mega mega smelly they heard her in the next room when she dropped it !!!
In the Uk the HPV is £70 ( if thats the cc one) as my sister paid for her 15 yr old to have it before it came out for free.
Must go she has done another and my sitting room stinks !!!!

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 13/01/2009 21:50

at noisy poo!!

booked flights for Easter, must be mad travelling alone with the two of them... but at least can pop one in the sling and the other can use his trunky...still, really looking forward to it!!

will have to book christening, church, etc fo august, might have to find different priest though, managed to avoid the wedding + christening last time, but won't have excuse this time...

Penthesileia · 13/01/2009 22:11

LOL @ minirosa's poo!

I am so immature. I crack up pretty much every time my DD does a poo. It's the grunts she makes as she does them that are so hilarious: hhhrrrrnnnnnggggh. Ahhhhhhh. Hhhhrrrnnnggggh!

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 13/01/2009 22:15

and the red concentrated face

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 13/01/2009 22:16

anyone's experienced registering DC/passport via post with the consulate in London?

Penthesileia · 13/01/2009 22:16

That too! They look all philosophical!

gio71 · 14/01/2009 08:36

at poos.Me and ds also wet ourselves laughing when he farts! How old am I???
Jan blues here as well, also don't think we will have summer holiday, just UK. I need to straighten out finances this year, have been really stung by cost of length of time it took me to rent house out in UK and the move here. Oh to be rich!!! Am SICK of rain here. Was lovely on Sun and thats been it. Feel like am back in Manc!

Rosa · 14/01/2009 08:44

I can manage one flight with the 2 its the change at Gatwick 1 in pack , 1 walking , pushing trolley with 2 cases and buggy on it and hand luggage my back that I somehow think I cannot manage. DD is good at walking but I would prefer to have her in buggy and pull one case ( loop over buggy) and h luggage on back. Thing is don't know if I can do baby , dd and my stuff in 1 case for 6 weeks mmm will have to wait and see.
Oh you are a sinner we shoul dchange the title to mumsnet little italy ( and sinners ) I would start searching now unless you do all not on a sat ( r u going to get married as well ???? ) as places will be booked up !
I have dd1 on an Italian ID card as its free and a passport is mega money. Will do the same for minirosa and then get them passports when features are more stable. !
I have yet to register minirosa with B Consulate and I dread the cost - can't register them in the Uk even using the same documents - my B Certificate , marriage certificate etc it is daft a real adpotion of Italian tactics to get money out of you.

Brangelina · 14/01/2009 10:57

Rosa - I found out from my colleague re the Verona-Newquay flight as couldn't find it online. Apparently he did have to change, although at Paris, but luggage was put through by the airline. He did have a 3+ hour wait in Paris though, which is really not practical with 2 littlies. Sorry for getting your hopes up.

Sunflower, don't worry, I'm living in sin too and what's worse is that DP is not yet divorced (too tight to pay the lawyer). Ho hum.

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 14/01/2009 11:20

I know, and will have 2 cases as there's no way I can fit everything in one + I'm always bringing back my fav biscuits (macine e pan di stelle, yummmmmmmmm), coffee and orzo... I gave up the buggy, and luckily DS's always been a good walker . It's been hard enough though with one DC and two cases.... oh, well, it's this or nothing!

When we Christened DS, we just got the chef to come and cook at home (bringing catering stuff/staff too so saved on washing up) as my parents have this huge room they use for partying, so I think we'll do the same again, saves money and all more comfy and relaxed, especially with all the kids running around.

DP suggested getting married too, but it's getting everything sorted and payed for, as we would have to have also a reception in yorks for his friends (big italian community there, so you know that his parents' friends would get offended if we wouldn't). and I also want to make sure I'm bak to my pre-pg body... we'll see...

you just reminded me I have to get my ID card renewed (can onl do that at the Comune though). suppose I could just have DD put in my passport to save money, what a pain though having to book an apt, and a translation of the birth cert!?!?

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 14/01/2009 11:21

Bran, my DB & his exW had to pay over 700 eur each just for the separazione!

Brangelina · 14/01/2009 11:35

Do you really need a translation of the birth cert? For the Brit passport you can use the Italian birth cert untranslated, but you do have to apply to the embassy in Rome.

DP had to pay 1500 euros for the separation, though his exw got stung for more from her daft lawyer. I think divorce is the same but DP is probably worried about having to give his ex money as all the stuff he's read mentions the famous assegno di mantenitmento for the wife (not child support) even if she's working and irrespective of salary. I just think he's being lazy. Until he sorts it out he's not going in my will.

Brangelina · 14/01/2009 11:37

PS. Are you really using cloth nappies? What do they say about that in Italy? Everyone here thought I was really weird and couldn't understand why I would want to.

francagoestohollywood · 14/01/2009 11:49

Grrrrrr my fastweb connection keeps dropping. grrrrrrrr

Awwww babies are soooooo cute when they poo. 6 yrs old are def less cute, when they ask to be wiped as they are "too tired" after school.

When we drove back to Italy for the summer, we used to come back with the boot full of passata mutti, pasta, coffee, parmigiano, olive oil and wine. Typical Italians
And when my mum came to visit us, she arrived with real artichokes and her famous roast hidden in the valigia

Sunflower, I can send you mulino bianco bics, if you send me some English ones. Deal??

OP posts:
Brangelina · 14/01/2009 12:21

how did she get a roast in her bag? Didn't it make everything else smell of, well, roast?

Did you see Xfactor on Monday? Wasn't Morgan a bit too permaloso and grumpy? They all spent far too much time squabbling imo.

My order from Amazon hasn't arrived yet, how long did yours take to arrive? Did they send it tramite corriere or was it normal post?

francagoestohollywood · 14/01/2009 12:29

Not at all. My mum is the queen of tupperware. And then she fold the tupperware into pages of newspapers and a supermarket bag

I think it was the standard delivery, and it took about 5 or 6 working days (I sent the order at night)

Have to dash, today it's dd's swimming lessons. For how many yrs do you think these swimming lessons will go on???
