Benvenuti, ciao hello

OP posts:
hothell · 12/01/2009 21:00

lol, it is Jan blues everywhere....
Will check out Eurocamp, though what i want is no facilities really, except nice showers and toils, lovely sea and no pools or activities as we like to make our own (she says with perplexing optimism ) Portogruaro sounds lovely...
Here not too cold anymore, but we had a day with no light AT ALL, low dirty clouds heavy on the city..

hothell · 12/01/2009 21:08

Burnt effing lamb stew today, if it makes you feel better....so we had cheese sarnies. Cheddar cheese on top of everything else, but both dp and ds loved it, so makes me wonder why i bloody bother cooking. Just had a terrible thought: February is often worse than Jan in terms of blues

francagoestohollywood · 12/01/2009 21:10

Ok, lets push February out of our minds. ANd it is short.

Hot, until 10 yrs ago, it was still possible to do campeggio libero in the south of Crete. It was pure bliss. I wonder if it's still possible.

OP posts:
hothell · 12/01/2009 21:19

oh, campeggio libero a bit hardcore for me,i do want a shop in the campeggio with fresh bread and nice veggies and local olive oil...but NO animatori with fake smiles who are paid a pittance, they get on my nerves, hate tehm. hate aerobics on teh beach too.

francagoestohollywood · 12/01/2009 21:28

It was lovely though. You could wake up and roll from your tent into the sea in your knickers.

OP posts:
Penthesileia · 12/01/2009 21:29

LOL @ knickers.

Sorry.

Penthesileia · 12/01/2009 21:32

God, yes, Sputnik - those Siberian winds. Personally I always find February the worst in Cam for that reason...

I want to like the idea of camping, but the whole thing has been spoiled for me by horrific child abuse school trips to the Scottish Cairngorms and by DofE.

OP posts:

Rosa you can fly from Venice Marco Polo to Bristol with Easyjet. Any good?

Penthesileia · 13/01/2009 10:58

at the snow, franca.

Totally O/T to this thread and its lovely posters: I am now trying hard to avoid threads where certain posters (not me, obviously ) feel the need to have the bloody last word, because they are obviously always right. And breathe...

Lalalalalala....

francagoestohollywood · 13/01/2009 11:01

what's O/T ?

What?Where? what's going on? Shall I go and post "I agree with penthesileia" without reading the thread?

OP posts:
Penthesileia · 13/01/2009 11:05

O/T = off topic...

Don't worry... You already did, franca, without me even asking!

francagoestohollywood · 13/01/2009 11:10

Off topic, of course

OP posts:
SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 13/01/2009 11:11

penthe - I limit my posts to here, my post-natal thread and real nappies for that reason ... I read other threads, but don't post unless it's a non-opinion thread IYKWIM, now you got me intrigued though...

Penthesileia · 13/01/2009 11:15

It's totally not intriguing, Sunflower! Just been posting on one thread this a.m., and towards the end, someone posts with something a bit unhelpful (IMHO), and not really super relevant to discussion (again, IMVHO), and I was (unreasonably) irritated by the tone, DYSWIM? I just felt that anything else I posted in response would result in another post with that tone, and I'd be off again. More my problem, than the other posters, I suspect!!!!

Besides, franca already answered that person's post! So I feel vindicated.

Penthesileia · 13/01/2009 11:15

poster's.

Sigh.

Penthesileia · 13/01/2009 12:21

Sob. Poor Rigoletto.

"Ah, la maledizione!"

hothell · 13/01/2009 12:31

is measles a dangerous illness? sorry OT too..

francagoestohollywood · 13/01/2009 12:41

Measles, yes, can be dangerous. Deadly in a very small %, tragically.

francagoestohollywood · 13/01/2009 12:42

Penthe, turn the opera down and go sit in front of JK. Make the most of your ML

ThX Sputnik - the Bristol flight timings are a complete bummer - you get in to BRs at 10.30 pm then have to drive 2.5 hrs - ( Check in ius round 7pm / dinner time and flight time is when dd should be in bed . then ) Its too much to ask parents to come and get us ( they are over 70) so have to hire car etc - with two little ones I almost prefer travelling all day !
At consultorio this am was told that since 1/1/08 there are no obligatory vaccinations any more in Italy. I recall with dd1 they were obligatory then you have the optional ones as well. Mind you I am pretty sure that there were some schools that would not take them unless vaccinated ..Boh.
Hot sorry no experience with camping but I am thinking about holidays as well ( still dreaming !) I bought myself a very boring coat off landsend as I have no time to go anywhere here and get one ....I normally enjoy shopping on line but this was a essential as the zip has bust on my other one.

francagoestohollywood · 13/01/2009 13:19

Rosa, do they mean the trivalente or all the vaccinations? In the ministero della salute website there is a list of the vaccinazioni obbligatorie. Unless it's a new decision of the berlusconi gov to save yet other money

Oh I'd love to shop on line. Sadly, I don't need anything, as I managed, for the first time in yrs, to make the most of the january sales.

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 13/01/2009 13:21

I was asked to give a list of vaccinations when I enrolled ds at primary school last year. Can't remember about dd and scuola materna

OP posts:
Sputnik · 13/01/2009 13:32

I can see why you wouldn't want to do that Rosa. Actually you are very brave even contemplating going with 2 LOs on your own, I'm not going to attempt it until DS is a little bigger, as if you leave him unattended for 0.5 of a second you turn round and he's running off into the distance.
